Constant error message trying to download El Capitan
Hey all,.
I recently had to upgrade my hard drive and do a BONE re - install via the internet retrieval. Since my Macbook Pro is end of 2011 he reinstalled Lion. I tried to upgrade to El Capitan, because I can't use all my apps to work - I need Photoshop CC! - but all I'm trying to download it manages at the end and says there is a 'Server error 503 problem' and told me to try again. I tried 4 times now! My download speed is 45 Mbps, which should surely be a lot fast enough!
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance!

I try to upgrade OS 10.6.8 to something higher and keep sent around in circles, literally. I'd be happy with Yosemite, but App store says is no longer available. I'd be happy with El Capitan, but can't seem to get there. Is a disk available?
There is no available disk, it is ONLY available via download. Perhaps if you provided a fuller description of what happens when you try to download which could help. In addition, please be sure that your computer meets the minimum system requirements required for El Capitan who are VERY VERY:
General requirements
- OS X 10.6.8 or later version
- 4 GB memory
- 8.8 GB of available storage
- Some features require an Apple ID; conditions apply.
- Some features require a compatible Internet service provider; charges may apply.
Mac hardware requirements

I tried to download macOS Sierra on my macbook pro iOS 10 for a few hours and it still has several hours to go. Should I just download the Capitan instead? All sites tell me that I should update my Safari or I wouldn't even through this disorder.
You must complete the download of Sierra. It is a very large file and will take some time, especially on a slow Internet connection.

I have installed on my Mac Pages. Before moving to El Capitan, I deleted Pages and now when I am trying to download the store again, it asks me to buy it. Should not be free?
Questions.
- What version of Mac OS X upgrade you to El Capitan?
- What version of Pages you removed before the upgrade of the El Capitan?
- Have you bought the OS X App Store Pages?
- When you bought your Mac?

I had to reformat and reload my OS. I managed to download and reinstall Yosemite which I had already purchased from the app store, but now I'm stuck trying to find El Capitan. This has been removed from the app store two days when they made available Sierra. I used to have of El Capitan installed, which I think was a free upgrade to Yosemite, so I know that it worked on my system. I can't upgrade to Sierra because my iMac is 2007 and Sierra is not supported on systems older than the 2009 year.
I found several El Capitan updates on the net, but they will not install unless I have the base OS El Capitan installed first. Yes, is there anywhere I can get a new copy of El Capitan, or a set of improvements to El Capitan Yosemite?

Cannot download El Capitan, app store fails
I put a new SSD in my Mac Mini and for the last week, I was not able to get to El Capitan for download. It has never been about 2.5 GB on the 6.2 GB download. It's not my connection, or the set of app store. I could download Yosemite, as well as other applications that I bought. I can't stay behind because I did turn El Cap since last fall, and now a lot of things don't work. For example, the photo library will of there El Cap of the application version, so I can't access it, let alone add new pictures to the library.
Is there another way to download El Cap? It's something specific to downloading this OS via the app store. I even tried with my friend who is fast enough to the internet, and he said that it would take more than 2 days to download, but we downloaded Yosemite in 15 minutes.
There is no other way to download El Capitan. It is only available on the App Store.
First try Safe Mode boot. Which removes the system cache that can help.
- Start or restart your Mac.
- As soon as you hear the startup tone, hold down the SHIFT key.
- Release the SHIFT key when you see the logo Apple appears on the screen.
After the Apple logo appears, this may take longer than usual to reach the login screen or your office. This is because your Mac performs a check of directory of your drive to boot in safe mode.
To leave safe mode, restart your computer without pressing any keys during startup.
Then try to download El Capitan.
If this does not help, one suggestion would be to check the boot drive for errors and then restore OS X using OS X Recovery.

Cannot download el capitan on a brand new macbook pro
So I just bought my first book of 2015 mac pro that yosemite has been installed. I pulled the AppStore app and sailed to el capitan and clicked on update hoping that I could get the upgrade done in 2-3 hours with my 100mbit connection...
The thing is that the most I could download was only 50 mbs. Laughing out loud. So, I did I plug just the mac book pro to not be not be able to download an update with my 100 Mbits connection?
Oh and I tried some other updates of normal software from the app store, they all run very well.
Check your Applications folder. If you see the OS X Installer, send to the trash, and then start the download again.
