  • Why the icons disappear from the Start Menu?

The Start Menu has two regions: a region for applications whose icons are pinned to the Start Menu and two region, for applications whose icons are not pinnend to the start menu... the positions of icons these vary, depending on the frequency of use.

Why in the region shortcut icons do not disappear into the Start Menu?
They are not being "jostled" more low ranking... they stop just appear.
Open an application can hand its icon at two area of the Start Menu,
but then after a few days (maybe earlier), for example, the icon is missing.

    Thank you
    DaleB

You already have the answer yourself.

"The two region" can only hold x number of icons... Let's say 7.
If you later open a 8th program, among the list of 7 will be "hit.
I opened Windows DVD Maker. Later, I opened MS Excel. Windows DVD is moved from the list.

  • in 22 and 23.0 upgrate him disappears from the bookmarks toolbar and after crash firefox does not allow for recovery

I hate this new update. I basically can't use the browser more. I only need firefox to do things properly, but if she cannot do these things I can't use it

    1. If firefox crashes (it does every 30 minutes it completely closed), then I need to be able to restore / recover all previously open windows when I start it back up again. There is no more.

    2. I use the bookmarks toolbar all the time, but often it appears completely blank. So now, the only way I can see bookmarks is if I go to options and uncheck bookmarks toolbar option and reselect then toolbar of bookmarks.

It's so frustrating and worse still make you sure you can't do restorations! It of insulting and makes me want to not use your browser. A browser is a tool not criticizing a toy, but you guys will not stop playing with it.

Also, older versions of the extension, meet bugs, you can refresh by using:

Firefox orange (or the Tools menu) button > Add ons > "gear" button > "Check for Updates".

For example, GM 1.5 (November 2012) vs GM 1.11 (July 2013).

  • System Restore is missing from the start menu and does not work after upgrade from win98se to winXP Pro.

I just upgraded to winXP Pro win98se. After doing so I discovered there are no ads for tabs "System Restore, disk cleanup, Disk defrag, scheduled tasks or System Info ' not listed in the"System Tools"menu, but the others are. I also noticed he wasn't an App icon. "Security system" in the control panel. I installed SP2 to try for a fix, but later he installed only the "security system" App.  I find 'rstrui.exe' in the C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\Restore folder, but when I click it, nothing happens.
I'm working on a laptop Dell Latitude cpi with a Pentium II 363 and 128 MB of Ram.

The reason for all the downtime is you have 2 OS installed (partially), & windows

XP is you expected in the Committee to xp & remove the possibility of return to 98... its been a long time

but, open Disk Cleanup utility, remove the previous operating system (select all), once through, open the disc

cleaning, locate the 'other options' button, select this option to remove all but the last restore point, close. Go

to run, type: appwiz.cpl locate the large fo; der with the old operating system, remove it, close when thru.

    Run Disk Cleanup.

  • Recent documents disappeared from my Start menu

My recent documents have disappeared in the start menu and every time I tried to click and uncheck the box 'save a list of recent files", by clicking on apply every time, he would not bring him back.  I ran the sfc program by following the instructions in another post on the forum, and he was unable to do some repairs.  I saw a few mistakes that he found in the newspaper, but I'm not nearly enough common sense to interpret the results me tech.  Curiously, another error that we found was on my games folder, and it's a problem I've had since way back.  My games included with Vista had disappeared and I couldn't play more.  Although a good time burner when bored, I just shrugged his shoulders which.  I will post a copy of what I think are the relevant sections of the cbs.log here.  There are references to the file store is corrupted too, incompatibilities of hash, things like that in the sections results I'll post.  I would be grateful someone take a look and tell me if there is a way to fix these things.  I had posted on the forum, I went on a similar problem, who told me to go see someone in another forum, but it was marked responded and no one seems to look into it.  Thank you, Steve

  • Programs Windows missing from the Start Menu

All my Windows programs have disappeared from the start menu.  I was playing with the option hidden files on some of my shirts.  I followed the suggestions of another post on changing the property of my programs to uncheck hidden and which did not help.  Any suggestions?

    Restore point:

    http://www.howtogeek.com/HOWTO/Windows-Vista/using-Windows-Vista-system-restore/

Do Safe Mode system restore, if it is impossible to do in Normal Mode.

Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.

Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...

Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.

    See you soon.

    Hi Momcat,

Click Start-> run, type &-> gpedit.msc-online user configuration-> models of administration-> start menu and taskbar ==> right side Double click on 'Add Logoff to the start menu' and select 'enable '.

When I right click on icon libraries as in the image below and select "Remove from this list", it does not go far.

    Of http://sbctooling.com/how-to-automagically-remove-programs-that-are-pinned-to-the-start-menu/

I found a way to remove all items from the start menu. I hope that I followed the instructions in an appropriate way, it did not seem a few typos, so I followed his instructions implicitly given by the photo he attached.

original title: HELP-things disappeared on my computer!

With regard to your Start menu...  There is a piece of malware circulating and which hides all the shortcuts in the start menu and sometimes all of the files on your desktop as well.  There is a program called 'unhide.exe' which must clean things

"Unhide.exe - an introduction as to what made this program"

I'm not sure that this would affect your add/remove programs, though.

You must also run a scan for malware on your computer.  I suggest to start with the free version of
    MalwareBytes <> http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free >

  • The start menu and the task balk disappeared

    On my windows XP the task and menu balk start screen disappeared as a result of a mouse click. "Just the icons on the side right.<" remained.="" what="" should="" i="" do="" to="" get="" the="" balk="" back?="" any="" help="" will="" be="">

    Hi janavasiljev,

This problem can occur for the following reasons:
    • Auto-hide the taskbar has been selected for the taskbar and Start Menu Properties.
    • Your user account settings are corrupt.
    • The core files are damaged.
    • The Explorer.exe file does not load at startup.

Make sure that the hide option automatically is not selected for the taskbar and Start Menu Properties.

To determine if the hide option automatically is not enabled for the taskbar and Start Menu properties, follow these steps:

    a. press CTRL + ESC.

    b. If the Start menu is displayed, click on the Start menu and then click Properties.

    c. click on the task bar , clear the Auto-hide the taskbar option and then click OK.

  • lost all my programs from the start menu, a

lost all my programs from the start menu, favorites as all my photos and docs. Can I get them back thanks for any help,

What did you do last before this happened?

It looks like someone may have maliciously tampered with your computer.

Take a look in your trash and see what you can find.

If they are not there, try to download and run this program:

    http://download.CNET.com/Recuva/3000-2242_4-10753287.html

He'll pick up things that have been deleted from the Recycle Bin.

Be forewarned, it will probably work for a long time.

    Hope this helps

  • Cannot remove a program from the start menu icon

Original title: icons in the Start Menu;. Cannot delete the program start menu icon to remove/uninstall, need help?

S pie Menu icons; Ghost of icons

I deleted a program and uninstalled completely, but the program icon always appears in the start menu.  I was not able to remove the icon. Right-clicking on the icon simply freezes the start menu for several minutes. I was able to remove from the desktop.

I tried the Program Data > Microsoft > Windows > Start Menu > programs > but the icon.

I had this problem before, but I just do not remember how I fixed it. Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi Kevin, thanks for responding.

The program was the Vuze, and I managed to get rid of the icon.  By a right click and do not move the mouse and wait 5 minutes eventualy box popped up and I was able to remove the icon from the start menu.

The solution was a lot of patience.

    Please help us well!

    :)

p.s. I ran various software cleaning, like glary utilities, ccleaner and reboot several times.
