Try to import photos, coming in white

I'm trying to import pictures from an SD card, but it is showing empty. I know there are raw images on the card because I moved to a folder on my computer, thinking that he may have been a problem with my card reader. Now, try to import all the photos in my computer in lightroom, there is nothing it's just empty. It's just a recent problem, because a month ago I'm importing fine many times my files on my computer and my SD card. There is no XMP. files in folders. My computer was me invites to upgrade to windows 10 and I him have not done yet, this could be a part of the problem?

Hi stacyb,

I noticed that when you import (using the "Copy or move"), in the import dialog, if you do not first a 'Destination', choose the thumbnails do not appear and the import window is empty. Is that what you see?

If so, it of just to go to the side panel right and pick a destination, and you should see thumbnails for import.

New to Lightroom 6.  Were able to import photos previously. Now when I try to import Photos and videos, I specify a folder that contains a mixture of NEF and JPG images, and thumbnails will appear.  However, they are grayed out. When I hit Import, I get a message that says no. Photos import active.

This means that you have previously imported these pictures/videos into Lightroom, and you must not (and are not allowed to) import them again.

Go to your library Module (not the import dialog box) and find the photos, then you can make use of them in any way you want in Lightroom.

  • When you try to import photos, I get an error that says that the preview is not available for this file.

When you try to import photos I get an error that says: Preview is not available for this file. Then when I try to download these files, a gray box returns for each photo with the name of the file, and this error message -Preview is not available for this file but no picture. The files are JPEG files. I use Lightroom CC help?

Some additional information. I received these photos of my granddaughter of my son with Dropbox. I checked the files under properties and found that they were listed as "some blocked properties" so I checked the box to 'unlock' and click on apply. The blocked message went away. Then, I took the original photos out of the folder of file they were in. I went back to LR and made sure those grey boxes with the Preview is not available for this file was missing. Then I went to the new files with the status of unlock in a new folder and tried to import into LR... same thing happens again! UGH

    Hi rsobieski,

Could you please copy the images of Dropbox in a new folder on the computer/pictures folder.

Also, then try again to import images into Lightroom and also please check if you have read and write permissions on the images.

    Kind regards

  • I downloaded the trial version of Lightroom on my MacBook running El Capitan. I get the following message appears when you try to import photos: your update of Lightroom 6.3.0 drive to which you import images is low

I get the following message appears when you try to import photos: your update of Lightroom 6.3.0 drive to which you import images space is low. Delete files or empty the trash to make at least 250 MB available before continuing. ??? What it means? I'm not using a disc, a have a lot of space on my Mac.

Of course, you use a disk. When you import, you place a copy of your photos on your computer's hard drive (or external hard drive). The meaning of the error message seems very clear. What part of this do you not understand?

  • Try to import photos from my camera

I'm trying to download pictures from my Samsung camera and Windows 8 keep saying 'something went wrong and this folder could not be created. Try again. "after I press the import, why she will not be imported? I tried again and again, it won't matter only random pictures hoping different days. I have about 300 photos, I try to import, but even after I select only 1 that it still does not work. Also, when I try and click on my pictures folder it says my photos fold is no longer working and is safe to delete...? I didn't have that 2 photos in my library anyway, but then again they are always visible when I click on my photos HELP ME App!

    Hello

    Thanks for choosing Windows 8.

Looks like you can not import photos using the photos app and receive an error message "'something went wrong and this folder could not be created." Try again. ' Is this correct?

    1. you use photos app to import the photos in the camera?

    2. What is the brand and model of the camera?

This problem normally occurs when the folder of images in the library does not accept photos that should be added and must be repaired.

    a. go to the libraries in Windows Explorer

    b. click images folder right gives you an error.

    c. Remove the folder.

    d. right click on the folder 'libraries'.

    e. Select"Default ore librariesto rest."

  • FrameMaker retains "bombing" when you try to import photos

    Hello:

I had problems every day to try to get some photos in my FM document, but the application keeps "bombing" on me. in other words, it crashes and again reports an internal error 8004, 6345644, 8487696 message or application closes completely. I want to import photos by reference rather than copy them, but nothing seems to work for me. I tried to import the files as. JPEG and. PNG formats without success so far. Each photo is ~ 3565 KB in size.

I searched the forum for this particular error, but most of the comments had to do with the PDFs and they do not apply to my situation (I even changed the printer to Adobe PDF format until I started to import the files without any significant improvement).

    System details:

Dell Vostro with Intel Core2 @ 2.40 GHz and 3.25 GB of RAM

photos from a camera Canon MP 10 (registered under both. JPEG and. PNG files)

    FrameMaker V8.0p277

    Windows XP

It is available system memory or is this something that I could do in the import process? I can't wait to finally get to the cause of this problem with your help.

    Thank you

    -Kimberly

Also, the error message you get indicates either that the graphic filter is having problems with the file, or less likely, that it runs out of RAM and free hard disk space.

  • Code received the error 80004005 When you try to import photos and video from the camera in Windows Live Photo Gallery.

Spent several hours in technical support with gun tries to resolve to not be able to download pictures from the camera to my Win XP computer.   Usually the computer detects the camera and demand "How would you import pictures?" and the list of shows in one window.   We don't get any list in this window, but only managed to fill the window briefly for WLPG to detect the photos and video, but when we went to import, we received the 8004005 error.   Thereafter, things have regressed, and we're back to not get any answer computer saying that it detects pictures or video - nothing.   But back to square one.

There are two issues here - likely related: unable to import photos and videos and the 80004005 error.   Who came first and is there cause and effect here, and which way should we go?  Inquiring minds want to know - and being able to import photos and video of the camera Canon Powershot A3100IS again.

After hours Technical Support Canon was completely blocked and indicated that it was probably an OS problem with my computer.

Thanks for all your great suggestions.    I finally solve the problem, but I don't know exactly what fixed it.   I ended up running CCleaner (latest version) and make a 'windows', 'applications' and cleaning of "registry".   This needed a re-boot, and when I rebooted, it's when I could finally download the pictures from the camera.    Not exactly what fixed the problem, but there may be here spirits who may be able to say, ' Yes, with blah, blah, blah, you did...» ».

As far as I know that is a lot of sterile technical support hours and re - install the software and then, finally, runing CCleaner paid off.    I will record your information in case I need it in the future... Thanks again.

  • I get an error of access denied when you try to import photos from my digital camera

For some reason, windows prevented me from importing photos from my camera, and I get the following message is displayed. (The following error has occurred when importing IMG_ #.) JPG: access denied) I use windows 7. I use a USB cable to connect to the computer and never had a problem until now.  I have tried everything I can think to see why this is happening and I don't see a reason.

    Hello

    1. don't you make changes to the computer until the problem occurred?

I suggest you follow the steps mentioned below.

Method 1: Restore the default import settings

Visit the link below to learn how to restore the default import settings.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/change-settings-for-importing-pictures-and-videos

Method 2: Test of the issue on a new user account

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/create-a-user-account

    Method 3:
The problem can also be caused by your security such as anti-virus program or a firewall of Windows /Defender that can have conflicting parameters as to not not to perform certain tasks. I suggest you temporary disable antivirus and firewall and check the result again. You must activate new security that you was disabled programs.
    Disable the antivirus software:
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/disable-antivirus-software

Important note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

  • I installed lightroom 5 and I am using Nikon D810, (new camera), when I try to import photos from the card, he said the preview is not available.  What I am doing wrong?  Help, please!

I desperately need help!  I've been trying to use Lightroom 5, what's new with Nikon d810 also new camera and I'm not able to import photos from the card.

Someone help me please get it going, I'm so frustrated.

Not necessarily. the images on the card could still be corrupted and the jpeg preview is visible in other programs other than LR. Have you noticed the same behavior on multiple cards? If so, it suggests that LR is the culprit. I suggest you save and optimize your LR catalog, and then stop and restart your computer and see if the behavior persists.

    ================================================
    OK... something to try...

Connect the camera to the computer via a USB cable and
    Turn on the camera.

Reach... Start / computer / removable devices
    Storage...

Look at the drive letters and see if one of them
represents the camera. He can say removable disk

If the camera is recognized... right click on the drive letter
and from the menu choose... Open or explore.

The directory of the memory card in the camera must
poster and if you browse through the various
files, you must find the photo files.

Once found... you can copy/paste the pictures in a folder
    on your hard drive.

Simple and the best solution IMHO is to use an internal
or external USB memory card reader.

It will not drain your camera batteries and can be faster.
FWIW... download from the camera when batteries
can be low after a long photo shoot could result
    corrupted photos.

You have a USB media drive internal or external?

Insert the memory card into the correct location on the media player...
    If open windows... Close them.

When the card is inserted... If you go to... Start / computer... is
player card on one or several removable disks?
(You could say, "devices with... of removable storage")

    Removable (e :)) drive
    Removable disk (e :))
    Removable drive (g)

If_Yes_you can download photos from there. Left click
the drive letter that corresponds to the memory card must
display the directory of the card and you can copy and paste or
Drag and drop the photos of your choice in a folder on your hard drive
    drive.

Just a select group of photos do a right-click and choose... Copy...
then navigate to the folder that you want, and then right-click the
    folder and choose Paste.

  • When you try to import photos, it says photos cannot be imported because they cannot be read.  Why?

I use the same SD card that I always do, the same card reader, import on the same external hard drive as always and only have not changed my settings from Lightroom, and yet all of a sudden, Lightroom import my photos.  I even tried a different SD card and card reader, thinking maybe the problem was with one of these, but they do not yet matter.  I don't know what the problem is.  I'm on a MacBook Pro using Lightroom CC.  I'd appreciate any help that anyone can give!

    Then, you have two options.

At the same time, you had a utility that Mac OS X writing to NTFS formatted drives, OS X which cannot do by itself.

You can get an update for the utility or find someone else who is working with El Capitan, is option 1.

Or you can take this opportunity to copy, is to COPY not move, all your images to this external drive to another external or internal drive then Format as external to the Mac format using disk utility, which is option two I suggest.

If you're sticking with Mac as a computer system then there is no reason to have all disks formatted to Windows NTFS.

If you are still running a Windows PC and need to share files between Mac and Windows using an external drive then as external in FAT32 format, which can be read and written by OS X and Windows
