Clean install of Windows 7 but the activation key does not work
Hello, enter a new installation of Windows 7, the first OS on a new construction of the mine.
The problem I have is that the activation key will not work, the problem would beI use a Windows 7 (updated for Win Vista)? Or do I need a newproduct key?Thank youEricHowever, the requirements for the media upgrade is that you have an operating system already eligible such as Windows XP or Vista installed to use it. Since the Windows 7 end user license agreement.
15 UPDATES. To use upgrade software, you must first be licensed for the software that is eligible for the upgrade. After the upgrade, this agreement takes the place of the agreement for the software that you upgraded. After upgrade, you can no longer use the software that you upgraded.
So, if you are always denied, you will just have to reinstall Windows XP or Vista and let it do the verification of eligibility.
If your computer comes with a qualifying previous license such as Windows Vista or Windows XP and the certificate of authenticity is still attached to the machine in good condition, then the COST is reason enough to represent the compliance to the software license agreement. No previous required software installation, which means you can do a clean install with Windows 7 Upgrade disk.
How to do a clean install with upgrade disc:
Boot from the Windows 7 DVD
Click Install now
Accept the license agreement
When the option is displayed to select a type of installation, click (Custom advanced)
Click on drive Options
Select the disc/s click on Delete
Click new
Click on apply
Click OK
Click Format, and then click next to proceed with the installation
Skip entering your product key Windows 7 and complete the installation.
When you reach the desktop, click Start, right-click on computer
Click on properties
Scroll down to the Windows Activation
Click the link x days before activation.
Click on the link that says: "show me other ways to activate.
Enter the product key
Click next
Select the Activation of the phone
Click Next when you enter your key page
Select your country
Click Next, call the number listed
Be sure to explain your situation to the Appeals Officer.
Provide the installation generated when ID requested by the call agent
They give a confirmation ID in return, enter it
Click next to complete the activation.

on windows xp that my system restore to a previous restore point, I tried many restore points & created new ones but the system displays "could not be restored", any help out there.
Let see... What do we know about your system environment:
It's windows xp.
If we knew more, you would probably now.
What is the problem that you are experiencing this thing you System Restore will be remedied? System Restore is not a time machine.
The system restore already worked successfully in the past?
Thank you MS Answers, allowing the resolution of simple problems like frustrating and a lot of time as possible by asking only not for any information system when a new question is asked.
Provide information on your system, the better you can:
What is your system brand and model?
What is your Version of XP and the Service Pack?
Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Symantec, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, MSE, Panda, Trend Micro, CA, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, Comodo, etc..
The question was preceded by a loss of power, aborted reboot or abnormal termination? (this includes the plug pulling, buttons power, remove the battery, etc.)
The afflicted system has a working CD/DVD (internal or external) drive?
You have a true bootable XP installation CD (it is not the same as any recovery CD provided with your system)?
If the system works, what do you think might have changed since the last time it did not work properly?
Some tools Anti Virus 'protect' your system so that they will not allow a restore of the system work properly. For example, if you use Norton/Symantec products, you will see a message like this:Restoration incomplete. Your computer cannot be restored...It is also a popular Symantec problem (well, I'll be polite and call an "undocumented feature"...), they wrote an article about it:According to what you use for malware protection, you may need to disable the product temporarily, do the system restore and then turn the products light up again when the system restore is complete.Sometimes you need start your system in Mode safe and so that your protection programs are not running, and then do the system restore. Tips from Microsoft in some of their articles that if the system restore does not restore your computer, start in Safe Mode, and then run the system restore. It works for some configurations.System Restore is sometimes so afflicted or Restore Points are suspicious, the best solution is to reinstall your system restore. This will remove the old Restore Points, but sometimes it's the only way to fix a broken system restore. You don't have to reinstall XP, only the part of system restore. That can leave you with your problem of unspecified origin that you hope the system restore will fix (using a system restore is usually not equivalent to fixing the problem though).Give these ideas some consideration if they apply to you.Sometimes malicious will afflict your system restore to prevent you to find and remove malware. It would much rather you trick into thinking that you need to repair or reinstall your XP when it is not necessary. No matter what you use for protection against malware, I do so and then only begin to solve any problems:Download, install, update and do a full scan with these free malware detection programs can solve any problems:Malwarebytes (MMFA): http://malwarebytes.org/SUPERAntiSpyware: (SAS): http://www.superantispyware.com/It can be uninstalled later if you wish. The scans by operating clean, reboot, test and we can fix any other issues. -

Can I do a clean install of Windows 8 (without the DELL OEM software)?
Hi people,
I just bought a DELL Inspiron 17R laptop computer which came with Windows 8. I want to install an aftermarket SSD and do a clean install of Windows 8 on the SSD without all the stuff extra DELL piles on the computer in their factory. However, the laptop does not come with any media of Windows 8. My other options (copy windows divide in the SSD or use Windows backup and restore), both result in installing Windows 8 with a lot of software DELL.
DELL said that they do not have the installation of Windows 8 media and I need to contact Microsoft to get it. Any ideas on how I can go about this? I'm happy to pay a nominal fee for the discs, but having already an OEM of Windows 8 installation, I want to avoid going to the shops and buy a new license.
Any ideas are much appreciated.
Kind regards
Chris
Unfortunately, your only option is to create a disk backup and restore using recovery tools provided by Dell and use it to reinstall Windows 8. This is especially true because you run Windows 8, which are not available elsewhere.
or
SSD of cloning:
You can clone the installation for the SSD, provided that the SSD is large enough to accommodate the installation to be cloned.
See
http://www.ssdfreaks.com/content/664/how-to-clone-HDD-to-SSD-with-Windows-7s-own-software or (easier) use a copy of the trial of Acronis True Image Home.
Note that, immediately after cloning, you must stop and unplug the original installation. The disc can be reconnected once the DSS started successfully.
