Re-create the recovery media image fails on Windows 8.1

I've upgraded to 8.1 Windows recently. Now, I wanted to reimage my laptop using the recovery laptop hard disk media.

1A started "HP Recovery anager.

2 choose "Windows Recovery Environment". Restarted as requested.

3. now, the system took me to recovery Environent.

4 selected "troubleshooting."

5A opted to recreate the complete image of the system.

6. He showed 8.1 Windows as the operating system that must recover instead of Windows 8.0

7. Finally, he said something like partion is locked or he couldn't go back to 8.1

I am not able to recreate the image on my laptop using HP recovery partion due the Windows 8.1 update. Can someone help me please.

My warrently has expired and I do not have with me recovery disks now (I have already created a game and they are now useless because of the scratches).

Follow the steps described under the heading "recovery when Windows 8 will not start correctly. I hope it will work for you. If this isn't the case, you may have to contact the HP Support to order recovery media.

  • No CD operating system created by the function 'Create the recovery media' - Windows/Vista/SP1

I bought a R61 with Vista Business installed for the purpose of this downgrade to Windows/XP. I noted with interest that the system had arrived with VISTA/SP1 is installed. First thing I did was summon the Thinkvantage Rescue to create and support recovery in the case where I decided to go back to Vista at some point in the future. After you have created all of the proceeds of the recovery disks and being the creative professional that I am, I decided to test the newly created disks. Three DVD has been created. When I tried to restore the system from these backups, I learned that I didn't have a CD of the operating system. None of the 3 DVD was recognized as a CD of the operating system. Unfortunately at this point in the process, the hard drive had been wiped out and I didn't have a working computer. My only alternative was to restore using the recovery media to Windows/XP that were in the area and call Lenovo and request recovery Vista media. They arrived very quickly, so I deleted the XP image and restore the image of Vista from Lenovo's Vista recovery disks. I was very disappointed to discover that there was no SP1 Vista recovery disks. To make matters worse, when I tried to call the 'create recovery media' of this image of Vista, I even created a box of 3 DVD recovery DVDs that once again, did not contain an operating system CD.

I find myself with the situation that I can't get the exact picture that was on my computer, when it left the factory. I don't know that besides as SP1, it should have been revised pilots and others who came with this machine originally, and which I am not aware. These could create strange incompatibilities I had to install Vista/Sp1 from the Microsoft site on top of the current generation of Vista.

Is it possible to get a Vista Business/Sp1 for the R61 recovery support?

Moreover, my computer is Windows XP now and recovery media created from this environment of work like a charm. I know. I tried them.

It took a few months to get a handle on this, but here is the final solution.

First of all, the person who suggested that if the first media was on DVD, to copy it to a CD to work had no idea what they were talking about. Either works just as well, even if Lenovo suggests that the first must be a CD.

As usual, the 'problem' was caused by poor documentation. When you perform a set of recovery using Rescue and Recovery Media, you do not create an "operating system CD", and this is normal. When you get a set of recovery CD / DVD from Lenovo, you will always get one which is marked "operating system CD.

Different sets through processes of different recovery and rescue and recovery needs to know what kind of game you have, it allows to perform the correct process.  It does this by asking the question "Do you have an OS CD?" Based on the answer she executes a process or another and expects different content on the CD / DVD that are presented to him. You cannot mix DVD upward between the two processes. If you say Reccue and recovery that you have a CD of the operating system (ie. provided by Lenovo) and present it with media created by you using the process of "Creating rescue media", the recovery fails.

Finally, I went back and restored my machine using the DVD that I created initially using Rescue and Recovery. I answered 'NO' to the question "Do you have an OS CD?" and ended with a perfectly functional R61 VISTA/SP1. He didn't stay for long, however. Then I reinstalled XP using the provided Lenovo recovery CD, I answered YES to the question and ended up with a fully functional XP R61. Now, everything's fine.

  • Satellite-T230D fails to create a recovery media

I have a T230D Satellite under Windows 7 Home Premium. When you try to create a recovery media using a USB key, the process begins by informing the Flash DRIVE will be formatted.
At this point, it fails with the error code 040EAE-57-00000000. The USB key is left in an unusable state and cannot be reformatted by Windows.

The HP USB Format utility is able to reformat the USB drive.
Before you begin to create the recovery media application, I disabled VirusControl, firewall and Internet access to make sure that nothing got in the way. I tried this twice with the same result both times.

Can you please tell us what USB device you are using?
Have you tested with different keys memory USB flash?

  • How to create a recovery media in Windows 8?

You can become the owner of a new HP laptop, but unsure of how to create the recovery media so that it can be restored if this scenario arise.

  • Satellite C650 14U: recovery media creates the recovery partition?

Hello, I used the recovery media creator to create a USB flash drive recovery media.

If I can use that to restore Windows 7 installation on a new hard drive (as the SSD) will be the drive itself have the recovery media on that partition?

So if I then lose the USB could restore again by pressing zero when turn?

Or it does not retrieve the Windows partition and nothing more?

    Thank you

First of all, the new hard drive itself has no partition recovery on it. The recovery partition is a copy of the system partition and locates at another location, therefore, restored from a recovery media unit contains just the partition system without recovery partition.

Second, if you have a recovery on a local disk partition, you can always restore by pressing zero when power on/off. If this isn't the case, I am sorry to say that you don't you have no source of food.

In third place, somehow, we can say that it only retrieves the system partition.

  • Satellite C650 - failed to create the recovery disk - error 020150-20-00000000 code

I hope this is the right place to post this, but I think I have the same problem with my Satellite C650. He keeps wasting DVDs by stopping and saying that it cannot read the file E:\ZZlmg\11544XSP.swm and gives an error code 020150-20-00000000. The file is located on the DVD. I use Verbatim DVD - R The Recovery Media Creator is trying to write the first disc and is at the point of check data. Can you think of another explanation for this error other than the cheap DVD option? Thank you

    Hello

    There are two explanations;
Either the CD/DVD drive firmware is not up to date and contains no information about the drives used discs (CD or DVD) is not fully compatible.
As you know this is happening and is not uncommon.

So first check if a firmware update is available for your CD/DVD drive.
The European driver of Toshiba page is the right place to look for that.
More details you will find in detail if the firmware has been published for your ODD.

If there is no update firmware of your CD/DVD drive, then you should test other discs

  • Satellite A300-15 has failed to create the recovery disk

I'm trying to create the recovery for the first time disk (portable purchased before 5 days) and stop just before the end, the creator:

    Cannot read the file.
    F:\06343XSP5. STORMWATER MANAGEMENT
    (Error code: 020150-20-00000000)

    What's not?

    I posted this already in another thread, but I can repeat it;

I noticed that not all DVDs are compatible and sometimes it of not possible to burn the recovery due to the problem of DVD DVDs.
I put t know what DVD discs you use, but I had a good experience with TDK DVD-R.

So my advice is simple; Try different DVD from different manufacturers

  • HP Envy X 2: laptop recovery partition (D) merged with another partition, not be able to create a recovery media

I have merged my restore partition HP with another partition I created. Data recovery files are still intact in the New Partition. I have not created a recovery media. When I tried to create the USB Flash Drive recovery using recovery HP Manager media, I get the message that "recovery partition does not exist. How to get again the merged recovery partition and create a recovery USB Flash drive. If simply copy data from recovering files to a USB flash drive will work as a Bootable media in the case that need if in the future.

@joy1964: should not have done that.  Messing around with the OEM partition somehow good enough recovery ensures it won't work not later, when you need it.

Personally, I don't trust recovery integrated systems in any case.  You want to be able to recover from an image stored on a disk system large capacity Flash DRIVE or external.  In this way, if the disk fails, I can restore a functional system within minutes.

Consider using a third-party product known as Macrium Reflect this.

Macrium reflect (MR) provides a FREE version that can be used to image and restore partitions or drives together.

What I recommend is the following:
    (1) download and install Macrium reflect (MR)
    (2) run M. and choose the option: "Create an image of the partition (s) required to backup and restore Windows" to write a full backup to an external drive or USB key
    (3) use the option to create a CD or a USB startup key

NOW, you have the means to restore a full system that works for the external hard drive or USB key in a few minutes.

AND... you no longer have the recovery partition at all and can reuse that space for something else.

  • Preinstalled software is included in the recovery media?

Because I'm going to create recovery CD using the Recovery Media Center on my Toshiba L750

It says disk only, no request for system recovery media. I'm therefore wondering if the software is included with the class of system recovery media or I'll have to do something else so I have to drive.

It says also on this site:
    Link: [https://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/bulletinDetail.jsp?soid=2753749&pf=true]

Please can you give me a help please

When you buy the new laptop, it comes with preinstalled OS that includes all necessary drivers, Toshiba and public services, as well as some additional software tools too.

When you create the recovery disk so recovery image stored on this disk will be absolute same components after installing OS using this created disc, you'll have the same thing you have after the first start.
