Windows does not recognize iPhone/iPod devices

I tried to add music to a new iTunes library to my iPhone on my pc when I accidentally pressed the notification "do not trust this computer."

I tried following the advice in this thread (removed the pilot): I accidentally hit "Do not trust" and now my iPhone won't sync to my computer. It won't ask me to trust him again even when I restart everything. Now what?

And now my computer does not recognize my iPod or my iPhone when I plug it into the USB ports. They don't even charge. I know with certainty that the problem comes from my pc because when I plugged them both in another pc, Lesmanteaux both able to connect to the computer/iTunes. I tried restarting both devices, tried resetting the location and privacy, by restarting the computer, even performed a system recovery.

When I go to "Devices and printers", the two devices are listed under Unspecified, Apple Mobile Device USB Driver, unknown category, troubleshooting needs (I tried that as well, when I do that it is said that all driver software is up-to-date)

Driver status: Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. A recent hardware or software change might be installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or maybe it's a malicious software from an unknown source. (Code 52)

All my software is up to date (iPhone, iPod Nano, Itunes 12.1. (2. 27 64-bit)

Please help me, I've got a flight tomorrow and all I wanted was to upload music.

Have you tried using different USB ports? Try and see if it triggers the question "confidence." You can also give your iPod a restart is forced. Press the sleep and home for about 20 seconds. When you see the silver Apple, let go and let it reboot, then try again.

If this does not work you can try something a bit more drastic. That's a lot of time, but not horrible. I had to do a few times with my devices and my computer.

Try this, go to your control panel, add/remove programs.

Remove iTunes (you won't lose any content not the program, I've done a few times), Mobile Apple, Apple Application Support device driver.

For good measure, you can restart your computer just to remove the cobwebs.

Then come out and redownload iTunes and reinstall it.

Plug your iPod in and drivers must be reinstalled.

All of your old info should be there. I've never lost anything. Essentially to remove iTunes and drivers have to reinstall fees, which can remove the obstacle 'I don't trust you. "

  • Satellite L300 - Windows does not recognize the connected device

I have Toshiba Satellite L300 series, PSLB8E. It came with a basic version of vista pre-installed window and it was working fine until I decided to update.

I took it to a computer for an upgrade store to ultimate window.
This version worked very well for a few weeks until I have received a message on the screen that says: 'I have to get a genuine copy of windows.

Because ever since I started having problems with my usb ports, my computer couldn't detect something I connect to it (usb, printer, mouse, etc.) he worked with modem only, sometimes it would open my external hard drive but it does not have its drivers.

I then decided to buy a window 7 home base, but instead of this problem will disappear, that it got worse as my usb ports completely stopped working.

I tried all the stuff I can think, but nothing has worked. the problem I have is that I don't have the original disc in Windows vista

    Someone please help!

I agree: installing drivers for Windows 7 is very important to get all devices work correctly. Windows 7 is much better than Vista OS and I don't see any reasons why your L300 Sat should not work properly with this Win 7 OS.

I recommend you to install the Windows 7 system again by install completely clean.
After that, download all drivers Toshiba Win 7 of the Toshiba UE driver page.

Very important are the drivers as value added package, Chip Set Utility, card reader controller, display driver, LAN driver, WLan, Sound Driver, Storage Manager and driver of the touchpad

  • Why am I suddenly "USB not recognized, one of the devices USB has malfunctioned and Windows does not recognize"

Hi all. If anyone out there in Cyber Land can solve this problem for me so I've personally you will issue an eight-pack of ice-cold beer (or a bottle of wine for the ladies lol)...

I'll try not to waffle too guys, so here's...

Right my PC running Windows XP. I also have itunes installed on my PC (I have an iphone 4). Upward until yesterday my iphone and itunes were working well, (once I plugged my iphone in the itunes USB port recognised that my iphone was plugged and synchronization was fine etc.).

But now when I plug my iphone to PC to sync with itunes, I get a pop up box on the lower right part of the screen that reads... "USB not recognized one of the USB devices has malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize."

After visiting about 5 different sites now "Ways to solve this problem", believe it or not, I still have the problem bloody! :(

A site proposed shutdown PC and unplug it from the power supply, then plug it back start-up and back... this as did not work!
The other they say that I should go to Device Manager, uninstall all the USBs then restart... it did not work either.
    Tried a system restore
    Tried to reinstall itunes

When I check the names USB in Device Manager, there is one who reads unknown device. I am literally pulling what's left of my hair now. I tried to solve this problem for almost 2 days now and still no joy. That's why no matter what input you guys would be very appreciated. I'm no PC Wizard, so please, don't think you're patronizing me if you break down things step by step for me.

Thank you comrades, cordially, Freddy frustrated. :)

Another said I should go to Device Manager, uninstall all the USBs and restart.

Usually, this works... but can be very dangerous, unless you have a PS/2 keyboard.

I also assume that you have tried all other USB ports on the computer. tried a verified USB device (for example, a flash drive) in the USB usually when you plug in your iPhone. and I tried your iPhone in another computer (I know it's rare for an error message Windows really means what he says, but sometimes the material lacks).

Is the charge of the iPhone when it is connected to the USB port (I don't think)?  This happened to me recently, but a reboot fixed it.  I guess that that happened to you.

I guess that you don't see the error messages in Device Manager or you must declare them.

You can uninstall all USB devices that do not exist as follows:

    • Open a command prompt window (start > run > cmd > OK)
    • Enter the following command and press enter

    Set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices = 1

    • Start the Device Manager by typing the following in the same command prompt window

    devmgmt.msc

    • In Device Manager, click the view menu and select "Show hidden devices".
    • You should see a category just after "Non-Plug and Play drivers" named "other devices."  Chances are that there will be a big exclamation yellow mark beside it.  When you expand the "other devices" you should see several non identified "USB devices."  Uninstall all this.
    • Reboot (with the iPhone NOT connected).
  • Windows Vista does not recognize my Ipod Touch

Windows Vista does not recognize my Ipod at all. He even appears in Device Manager. I know that is not my USB cable because it is new, and it isn't my Ipod because it works on Mac computers. • Error: One of the USB devices attached to this system has malfunctioned, and windows does not recognize it.

tried already everything written here. When I plug my USB device (3 of them) my Windows a sad of the USB devices attached to this system has malfunctioned, and windows does not recognize it. I tried plugging it into another winXP machine, it won't work. Can you help me?

    Original title: usb malfunction

    His salvation,

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community Forum.

    1. What are the troubleshooting steps you have tried so far?
    2. If it works much earlier? If so, did you do changes on the computer before this problem?
    3. What type of USB device you are using?

As you mentioned that the USB device does not work when plugged into a WinXP machine, it may be a problem with the device itself. In addition, the question may also arise if the currently loaded USB driver has become unstable or damaged or if your PC requires an update for problems that could conflict with a device USB and Windows.

Therefore, I suggest you try the following methods (skip the ones that you already tried) and check if the problem persists.

    Method 1:

Please try the fixit (s) provided below which will help you solve common problems associated with devices and USB ports.

If method 1 does not work, try Method 2.

    Method 2:

Remove and reinstall all USB controllers.

    1. Open Manager devices by clicking the Start button, click Control Panel, click system and security, and then, under System, clicking Device Manager. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
    2. In the list of the categories of equipment, locate and expand Bus USB controllers.
    3. Right-click every device under the Bus USB controllers node and then click Uninstall to remove them one at a time.
    4. Restart the computer and let the USB controllers get reinstalled.
    5. Plug in the removable USB device and test to make sure that the problem is solved.

If the problem persists, go to method 3.

    Method 3:

This method will install the latest drivers from device to your USB device.

    1. Click the Start button, type Windows Update in the search box, and then click Windows Update in the results pane.
    2. Click find updates. When the scan finished, click optional review updates.
    3. Click the check box next to the update, and then click install updates.
    4. If you are prompted, read the license agreement, then click I agree.
    5. Follow the instructions on the screen to download and install updates.
    6. If you are prompted, restart your computer.

More information: Update a hardware driver that is not working properly

If the device fails after updating the driver, you can try to roll back the driver with its previous version.

Restore a driver with its previous version

Hope this information is useful. If the problem still persists, please post back for further assistance, we will be happy to help you.
