Trying to find advanced settings of the BIOS on my envy Touchsmart Ultrabook 4

I'm trying to locate my envy Touchsmart Ultrabook 4 power management settings.   I am running the Insyde BIOS verision F.23.  When I open the BIOS to F10 (I also tried F10 + A with no result) before starting the only options are to hand, security, System Config. in and out.  Is anyway to get the advanced settings in the BIOS?  Thank you.

Woodyzen3000,

I understand that you are looking for the power management option in the bios.

After doing some checking this bios has no option for the management of food as some old versions of some time got back on our old systems. I was actually able to get their hands on a similar Ultrabook built with the same version of the bios and the options are no longer present.

It is possible that perhaps a next version will be the available option. In order to keep an eye on this link because the future updates to the bios would be here. You simply enter the product number, and then select your operating system.

If you have any questions do not hesitate to ask.

Thank you

  • Help! Disable the touch screen on Envy Touchsmart Ultrabook 4

Hi, I have a problem, try to disable the touch screen of the Envy Touchsmart Ultrabook 4 function in Windows 8... I was looking for an answer on how to do it, but I did not find anything. I tried the method of the control panel > hardware and sound > pen and touch and then disable the option "use your finger as input device", but this option is not there for me! If anyone knows how to do this, I would be very grateful.

    Hello

I have another type of TouchSmart, but this may work for you:

    1. Press Windows + X logo.
    2. Select Device Manager from the list.
    3. Click on the small arrow next to Interface devices to expand the list.
    4. Click the touchscreen driver (in my case, Voltron NextWindow touch screen).
    5. Right click and select disable from the list.
    6. Click Yes in the dialog box that asks you if you are sure you want to disable the touch screen driver.

When you want your touchscreen to work again, follow the above procedure, EXCEPT when right-clicking on the touch screen driver, select enable.

    That's well below Tj Max.

I used to use centigrade. If the temperature is close to that you certainly can't expect much better than this.

It is hidden so that changes cannot be made that could affect how it interacts with the computer and possibly cause a problem in the future. What type of problem are you having with your VAIO which requires to enter BIOS advanced settings? Thank you.

  • Tecra A10 - cannot change the settings of the BIOS with supervisor password enabled

    Hello
I activated a supervisor for 1.50 acpi BIOS password.

Since then, I am not able to change the settings (for example etc. - the right of the screen of the BIOS boot order does no more).
I access the bios with pressing ESC on the boot process, then F1 when prompted "" check system, then press [F1] key. Problem is that I don't ask the supervisor password.
There should be a prompt for the supervisor password, but it's not. So I am not able to connect as a supervisor.
I know I can manually change the boot sequence by pressing F12 during startup, but this strict solve my problem.

Have you tried to update the BIOS? On the Toshiba site, I can find a newer version that you have right now. Check it!

Before setting a supervisor password load default settings in the BIOS and then you can set the password and try again. Maybe it works.

  • Changing the settings of the BIOS with Satellite L505D-S5006

Hello! I am trying to access my BIOS to change some settings in it, but when I enter the BIOS Setup I can't change anything in there (everything is greyed out) and the options are minimal. Currently, my BIOS version is 1.0.0. I tried to download the needed update for it, but when I install and try to run it, it says "cannot retrieve information from the system BIOS. In short, there is an another easier way to enter a BIOS where I can change the settings? Or what I need to find a different BIOS update?

Thanks in advance for the help!

The whole story is a bit strange.
Every new notebook comes without any limitations of the BIOS, and when you buy a new laptop, for that you must have full access to all the available BIOS settings.
    So the question is:
Have you bought this laptop like new?
Is - the first time you try to change something in the BIOS?
You may have defined user password (Toshiba Assist > course > user password)?

You can use Toshiba hardware configuration tool to change the settings (settings of the BIOS)?

  • Is it possible to adjust the settings of the BIOS via a command line?

I know there hwsetup, but as much as I know this GUI does not accept parameters.
We want to propagate the settings again on a script.

    Any solution for this?

    Thanx

    > is there a possibility to set the parameters of the Toshiba BIOS on a command-line tool?
Something like which is unknown to me and I doubt that this could be possible.
As you say there is a preinstalled Toshiba HWSetup tool which can be used to change some BIOS of some settings. But what a way to change the settings of the BIOS to the Windows operating system.

  • How to change the settings of the BIOS on Satellite L30-134?

I have a toshiba l30-134 and I can not for love nor money to update or to unlock my BIOS. Yes before you repeat the usual speal on laptops is limited. I know they are!
BUT... the BIOS on my laptop is, at the end of the day an interchangeable accordingly with appropriate tools and integrated program.

It is well known that large computer makers lock end-users to access these options to stop their valuation there own bought and paid for PC, so that they can not go out and buy a cheaper machine, and improve it. It is also a common misconception that laptops are not expandable. That's what they want you to hear. It is not true. OK, so you can't plug loads of PCI cards or graphics in it, which would defeat the object anyway.

Extensible components in a laptop ARE IN FACT evolving for example, memory and HARD drive.
There are several options that I would see in my BIOS, I know they are there, and I know that they have been hidden.

Why, oh why can't get rights to access these options? After all, he has bought and paid for, and if I want to tinker with it why I shouldn't. She belongs to me now.

I have a few tools that will change these settings in the BIOS, Phoenix BIOS editor and WinPhlash, but again, I have not found a downloadable BIOS for my machine. But believe me when I do I will be changing the options in the BIOS. And I hope I'll be able to put together one guide for others who also believe that they can change it machines anyway they see fit.

    Watch this space!

You can have a BIOS custom-made on your laptop, but not through an official site like Toshiba.
I do not understand what options you believe was hidden from the normal user like you and me.
In addition, I doubt that you can improve the performance of your laptop by changing the Firmware into something else.

Once a stable Firmware is made to a system, it is preserved and everyone (manufacturer and user) are happy
    with the result.

How to change through the bios I don't know.
    Help me pls.

The days of being able to change RAM in BIOS went Bye Bye a few years ago. It was back in the day.

You can't make changes to the video RAM settings in BIOS.

You can reduce the resolution if you want to increase performance in a menu of own game options, but at a cost of resolution.

  • Ability to remotely change the settings of the BIOS on the Thinclients T610?

    Hi all!

We use thin clients HP t610 for digital signage and we have deployed more than 40 years in the field. They seem to work just fine for our needs.

After a few failures caused by construction crews an i've had phyiscally visit each sign to reactivate them. Since then we have deployed the t610s with the ' after the loss of power = on "setting in the BIOS. This seems to fix the problem and they light up immediately once the power is restored. Now that we have solved our problem, I would like to change the client deployment light setting as well.

Is there a way I can change the settings of the BIOS on the t610 remotely? Or do I have to visit each change them manually and the machine with a keyboard? Some are installed in small spaces which are no easy access to remotely change would be better.

    Thanks for your help!

Depending on what OS you have on the t610 you can download BIOS utilities for this on the HP website: http://h20565.www2.hp.com/portal/site/hpsc/public/psi/swdHome/?cc=us&cc=us&lang=en&lang=en&sp4ts.oid=5226817&ac.admitted=1404312731554.876444892.492883150

There is an included cmd line tool that captures the BIOS settings that you can edit in a text file and deploy it to other units remotely via HP device for example Manager.

    clint341,
Thanks for posting on the Microsoft Answers forum.  We cannot guide you more precisely by changing the BIOS settings that the BIOS settings are specific to your motherboard.  However, most (if not all) parameters of the BIOS have an option to restore the default BIOS (sometimes called "default opitimized").  It may be an option in the menu that you highlight, then press enter or it can be assigned to an F key and States at the bottom of the screen, press F? for the default settings.  I hope this helps.  If you are still not able to reset, check with the manufacturer of PC for more information about the BIOS.
