Trying to fix the broken PSD files

Hello Photoshop experts.

I have a group of Photoshop CS PSD multilayer files that have been saved on a Mac in 2004 and then burned on DVD... most of them very well now opens on this PC with Windows 7 in Photoshop and GIMP, IrfanView.

But some of these PSD files but only display a message on a white United, that says:

""This layered Photoshop file was not saved with a composite image ' in four languages. "

Unfortunately, I'm in a place where I can't go back to the Mac computer and the Firewire drive that these files have been saved to the original to and I am currently working on this PC with Windows 7 and Photoshop, GIMP, IrfanView, but these files does not open.

I wonder if anyone knows a trick, some internal code editing, or any application that could get these files to open and view at least a flat version of what they contain, otherwise all of the layers that have been registered originally.

Thanks for any help,

NuMetro

I was able to open the first two files that you sent with success, just open them in Photoshop CS5 64-bit.  Very nice images.

I have them recorded with maximize compatibility and am now downloading. I'll you E-mail back the link in a few minutes.

  • How to fix the damage psd file?

    Hello!

My computer crashed today while photoshop CS5.1 economy/write in a psd file. When I started my computer to the top and tried to open it again, it displays only 1 layer shown as a corrupt image (as shown - red in the Image below). When I click on the file in the window 'Open' (The Gray Image below), the psd is displayed correctly in the preview window, but does not display correctly when opened. Help, please...

Open it, and then under file > file Info, make sure it is not a code there that shouldn't be there, then he re-record as .psd or .tif

Do not click on strange links that may be present (although sometimes there links to copyright in the field of copyright which are legitimate identifiers.)

Sometimes, when I get questions like this, and there is nothing in the actual file information, this may mean that there is something in the code of the actual image. Then I opened in GraphicConverter and save as .tif or .psd. It clears sometimes upwards.

A .jpg file is not a page layout format. Quark hate them. Never had any problems in Indesign with them but they are compressed.

  • Help! PSE14 now crashes when trying to open the complex PSD file

Today, whenever I try to load a quite complicated PSD file, PSE14 crashes and I have to end task it. Here are the files that I have worked with. They charge fine until today.

I rebooted, but the problem persists.

I had this problem when the assessment initially PSE, and mysteriously, it resolved itself.

There was an upgrade of Windows 10 last night. Maybe it was the question? I need to be able to access these files.

I have a folder of files in local folders that keeps reappearing after that I erase it. I tried to fix the folder several times. Any suggestions?

This is the name of a folder? Who will be in a file name in your file system. Given his situation, is it possible or likely that the total path length exceeds the limit of the operating system?

    For example: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows/file-names-extensions-faq#1TC=windows-7

This is not to talk about any other limit which may be inherent in the way that Thunderbird uses names of files internally.

In your position, I explore the Thunderbird profile and check paths, as they appear in the file manager. You should be able to remove all folders that are unwanted here also.

  • Event Viewer error "there was an error while trying to read the local hosts file." file "hosts" but good

    Hello

In Event Viewer, I see a lot of mistakes like:

There was an error trying to read the local hosts file.

I read that threat indicating to rename the hosts for "hosts" file

HOWEVER, the name of the file in my computer appears as it should

    C:/Windows/System32/drivers/etc / "hosts".

and the content of the file is as it is supposed to be according to: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/972034

What should I do to fix this error?

P.S. I suspect my computer is compromised. Last weekend, Security Essentials has reported a malicious file backdoor and it has been deleted, but I have a weird behavior of the computer

Try to re-create the hosts file.

Open Notepad as administrator (click right on the Notepad icon or shortcut and click Run as admin) and type the following information in it:

    127.0.0.1 localhost

    : 1 localhost

The '1' in the '127.0.0.1' must be in the first column of the line and there must be at least one space between "127.0.0.1" and "localhost". In the second line, there must be at least one space between ": 1" and "localhost".

Save the file with name "hosts" in the C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc folder.

You seem to have a hard drive problem. Please provide a copy of your system information file. Type the system information in the search box above the Start button and press the ENTER key (alternative is select Start, all programs, accessories, System Tools, system information). Select file, Export and give the file a name noting where it is located. Not to place the cursor in the body of the report before exporting the file. The system creates a new information file system each time system information is available. You must allow a minute or two before the file is completely filled before exporting a copy. Please download to your OneDrive (formerly Sky Drive), share with everyone and post a link here. Normal mode preferred report. Please say if the report was obtained in safe mode.

Photos on my new iMac won't start - get an error message after trying to fix the photo library.  I just migrated all of my old iMac a new aid of Time machine backup.  Both are running OS 10.11 (El Capitan).

Get an error message after trying to fix the photo library.

What does this error message say?  Photos crash or exit gracefully?

Where your iPhoto library that Library stored? In your pictures folder, or on an external drive?

Try to copy the library of Photos directly without Time Machine. Connect the two Macs using your network and copy the old Mac to the new library, well as signed in on your new Mac.

Then try to open this copy in Photos.

  • Has tried to fix the wi - fi on El Capitan, but now no connection to all the

I had problems connecting wi - fi typical (?) in El Capitan, especially during commissioning or wake from sleep. I tried to follow the steps described on http://osxdaily.com/2015/10/16/fix-wi-fi-problems-mac-os-x-el-capitan/ , but he has completely killed my wi - fi. I don't know how to fix or even go back to the way it was imperfect, but from time to time to work.

    • First of all, I highlight several aspects of the instructions on osxdaily which does not correspond to what I saw on the screen, especially since there is NO file called "com.apple.network.identification.plist" in the SystemConfiguration folder.
    • In addition, another site was already a different folder of com.apple.Bluetooth.plist out me and put it on the desk. Not sure if I should put it back.
    • Finally, the instructions on this site imply that we are not deleted what be it unde the DNS setting before adding something like 8.8.4.4 but I had something there already... a number starting with 196; He disappeared after that I removed the other SystemConfig files? I write to this DNS address, but I don't know the 'field of research"that was recorded on the right.

I hope this information is useful. I need to get up and running right now, I am a teacher and school starts Thursday!

I should add: wi - fi is recognized by he's other portable computers and iPad in the House; on my Mac Book, however, he does not even see most of the time!

  • How to fix the display of files after move

After several moves photos to a new disk (via file, move in Photoshop Elements 9 organizing) the folder view no longer displays the correct pictures.

The photos are in the correct locations and properties also show the correct location.

If I choose a directory in the folder, however, several photos appear which are not in this directory.

I tried to repair the catalog, but the problem has not changed.

    Any ideas?

I'm a lot missing an installation to the Organizer to move directories, a complete tree or just my catalog drive letter.

    See:

    (always true in PSE9)

I found many posts on this bug and I don't know his reasons were understood, because it seems very difficult to reproduce the situation when it is not. I don't know how to fix this bug. I never had such a problem because I work normally in the thumbnail view, although the folder view is useful for me in certain circumstances.

Move files by drag and drop in the left panel in the views folder should work.

Moving files from one disk to another should also work.
