trying to remove xp home service pack 2

My mother had her rebuilt computer and now she isn't the Microsoft XP Home edition, she bought originally.  The repair man gave him a drive with XP Pro SP2 but no code of authenticity so we can't install it.  She tried to launch a CD of OS with XP Home Edition SP2, but apparently have not fully installed.  Now when she starts her computer she must choose if she wants xp pro or xp home.  If she's not an arrow on the xp family, she receives a message that it is in the installation of xp home.  She peut or press ENTER to install xp, press R to repair xp using the Recovery Console, or press F3 to exit.  We tried to uninstall XP SP2 and the computer will not remove the files.  Any ideas?

PS: If MOM has paid for the repairs with a credit card, it can dispute the charge.

PPS: Send an email to piracy [AT] microsoft.com - they would be THRILLED to hear your story & can help MOM "legal."
