TS520PC Windows Explorer stops
Product: HP TouchSmart PC 520
OS: Windows 7 64-bit
Error: Internet Explorer has stopped working. A problem caused the blocking of the program works correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. This happens whenever I try to open a PDF on the Internet. However, if the PDF file is the one that I saved in Windows Explorer it reads it fine. You do not always have the possibility of adding PDF files so it's very clumsy, closing the system every time.
All change: has been the case since I took it out of the box.
DavidPK;
I've tried both your solution has worked. The instructions are clear and precise easily executed.
I read a bit more about the same type of problem and someone says Adobe and made me think about the cause and not the problem. I could not open PDF files on the internet, but I can open PDF I'd saved.
I went to my control panel to see what Adobe programs I had loaded, there were three programs, but not Adobe Reader. So now I really feel like a pütz and I regret that I took your precious time to help someone else. I'm sure that if it was a problem Explorer 9, you're solutions would be to go around.
Thank you

Windows Explorer stopped working/Windows restarts. I tried the recommended fix, that is 'Sfc/scannow' and "no problem of integrity" this seems to be a problem of user a lot and it's a pain in the neck. MS certainly needs a fix.

Windows Explorer stops working
Windows explore stop (explore.exe question) it seems only when I try to open a file with associated with Real Player videos. When I left solutions, none are found. I have Vista Ultimate and don't remember having this problem with Vista Premium. I tried many things such as an external hard drive, to reduce the load of memory and a player flash set up as a ReadyBoost. Found a lot of answers about Windows Explorer, but most East of problems with several accidents or other problems.
Any help would be appreciated.
Click Tools and then click Folder Options
On the general tab, click using the Windows classic folders, and click OK.This will cause the explorer.exe avoid making the thumbnail preview on video files that might not be compatible with Vista.

original title: Itunes and DEP
While downloading Itunes on my laptop right before you start to install, I get a message saying that windows Explorer stops because the prevention of execution of data has stopped installation. Is there any solution for this? I'd like to install itunes on my laptop.
Hi Steve681229,
Thank you for using the Microsoft Answers forum. Here's what worked for someone else. Thanks Kevin
Hi thrivenformore,
Please use the forum for Support of Vista,
You could try to add iTunes to the DEP exception list. However, this behavior is not normal. Go to the support forum of Apple for iTunes for Windows, search on DEP. There should be a thread "How can I turn off DEP for iTunes?" or it Prevet planting iTunes? "which provide troubleshooting steps you might want to try before adding it to the list of exceptions."
How to add the program to the DEP exception list:
1. Press Start, right click on computer and select Properties.
2. in the window that appears, click Advanced (on the left panel) system settings.
3. in the first box that says Performance, click on the settings button.
4. in the window that opens, click the Data Execution Prevention tab at the top.
5. There should be a box of exceptions in the middle of this window. Click the Add button and navigate to the C: drive, then Program Files, then the iTunes folder, and then choose the iTunes exe.
6. Add the exception, and then click OK in the window of the DEP.Hope this helps, Kevin

Windows Explorer stops working whenever I have connect a USB flash drive and try to access
Hello. I use Windows Vista.
I had a particular problem. Whenever I have plug in a USB key and try and access it, I get a pop saying "Windows Explorer has stopped working." the file is closed. If I wait a long time (i.e. 10 seconds), I might be able to get into the drive without any problems, but even when there is no guarantee. The problem persists in each USB slot I use. In addition, it is not that the computer is not able to detect it. It can detect and identify that it is a USB flash drive. It's just that whenever I try to access (or the folders inside the flash player), windows Explorer stops working and restarts.
Does anyone have this problem before? And any help is appreciated. Thank you.
The mistake made reference the MSVCR80.dll, which is a Microsoft file, but it may be another third party file, causing the problem.
DivX is installed?
If so, can you uninstall DivX and see if the error resolves.

whenever I right click on the folder from the library, windows Explorer stops
I got malfunction lately where almost every time I did a right click on a folder in Windows Explorer, Windows Explorer stops and restarts. Even the taskbar shuts off and needs to restart.
My computer has also been "stuttering" a lot lately, where when I start a program window may flash on and out once before, is really happening, or when the computer has been asleep for a while and it is restarted and all the programs I use, the window starts to blink; He will disappear for a few seconds and then reappear. Usually only once.
I also note that my measure of system reliability monitor took a dive from an average of a 6 fight at an average of 2 a couple of days. It seems that an attempt was made to update my adobe reader software and this attempt failed and he was about 2, and I had this problem since.
I ran the troubleshooting, maintenance of the system and 'check solutions', from the center of the Action, without significant results.
I see to this entry, my Player Adobe says there is no update available.
Enjoy what you can suggest,
RichardLVNB
I would point out, this problem is solved for me, and I forgot what I did, if anything. I think I'm doing nothing in particular; I think it is just resolved with reboot and repeated use.
I actually clean out some elements of the configuration of my departure, as mentioned above.
My system reliability is up around four, now.
Thank you!

The steps that I want to tell you is not worth with vista
Try to use the System File Checker to scan your operating system for missing/corrupt files, perform the following steps:
1. start and type cmd in the box start the search.
2. in the area of results, right-click cmd.exe, and then click Run as administrator. You will be asked to type the password for an administrator account. If you are the administrator or type the administrator password, click on continue. Then click on continue.
3. at the command prompt, type Sfc/scannow, and then press ENTER.The analysis may take some time, so be patient. Windows allows to fix corrupt or missing files it finds. If the information of the installation CD is required to fix the problem, you may be asked to insert your Windows Vista CD.
Hope this helps you. Let us know anyway. Make it a great day!

My windows Explorer stops working when I try to use the file menu on a file.
My windows Explorer stops working when I try to use the file menu on a file. If a file is selected in a folder that windows Explorer will be display Windows Explorer has stopped working the message box. This occurs only if a file is already selected and you click on the file option in the menu bar. All the other menu items work well if a file is selected or not, and if no file is selected the menu file works fine. I already ran SFC/scannow from the command prompt, but it returns no violation.
