Tune Up my Mac software safe to use on desktop Mac computers?

Hello team Apple,

I found this http://www.tuneupmymac.com/Features#.V-cFmDKZOV5 software and was wondering is it worth to download this software to tune up and remove unnecessary records on the Mac desktop. For now, it works well, but I often wonder if it runs more slowly so that was when I bought my Mac end 2011. I was told to stay away from MacKeeper.  I have approximately 427 GB of free HD space and 16 GB of RAM. The RAM is usually between 7 and 8 GB and some programs and open. I closed usually programs or apps if not using them. My OS X is currently El Capitan. I think I'll be able to download macOS Sierra in autumn.

There an honest answer as to the ability of software to clean, optimise and delete records with users of Apple Mac? Comments, suggestions or advice will be highly appreciated. Thank you.

Macs have built in procedures that automatically run and do what is necessary. More 3rd party 'tune up' and 'cleaning' software cause more problems than benefits. You won't find many people here their recommendation.

Sierra of BONES was released on 20 September and can be downloaded from the App Store.

Think about it an absolute must - manually update your drivers.

Vista and Windows 7 updated drivers love then here's how update the most important.

This is my generic how updates of appropriate driver:

This utility, it is easy see which versions are loaded:

-Free - DriverView utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded on your system.
For each driver in the list, additional useful information is displayed: load address of the driver,
Description, version, product name, company that created the driver and more.
    http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/DriverView.html

For drivers, visit manufacturer of emergency system and of the manufacturer of the device that are the most common.
Control Panel - device - Graphics Manager - note the brand and complete model
your video card - double - tab of the driver - write version information. Now, click on update
Driver (this can do nothing as MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then right-click.
Uninstall - REBOOT it will refresh the driver stack.

Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard if 3rd party
with their own software and drivers and all other main drivers that you have.

Now in the system manufacturer (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) site (in a restaurant), peripheral
Site of the manufacturer (Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get their latest versions. (Look for
BIOS, Chipset and software updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system here.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after
    each installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - drivers tab to be sure the version you actually install
presents itself. This is because some restore drivers before the most recent is installed (sound card drivers
in particular that) so to install a driver - reboot - check that it is installed and repeat as
    necessary.

Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW in the DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER device - check
    manually by model.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.
    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/driverssupport/HT/driverdlmfgr.htm

Installation and update of drivers under Windows 7 (updated drivers manually using the methods above
It is preferable to ensure that the latest drivers from the manufacturer of system and device manufacturers are located)
    http://www.SevenForums.com/tutorials/43216-installing-updating-drivers-7-a.html

If you update the drivers manually, then it's a good idea to disable the facilities of driver under Windows
Updates, that leaves about Windows updates but it will not install the drivers that will be generally
older and cause problems. If updates offers a new driver and then HIDE it (right click on it), then
get new manually if you wish.

  • sandboxie is safe to use? East - protect it enough?

sandboxie is safe to use? East - protect it enough?

    http://www.Sandboxie.com/

I honestly don't know.  I've never heard of a product like this before.  It seems to me that it would affect many programs of Vista due to how it changes the configuration of hard disk and configuration (I wonder how programs such as Defrag and chkdsk and SFC and cleaning disc and other such programs would work with this installed. They would work they would fail to run or would they ignore this special place and become a little less effective?  I wonder how this program will interact with other security software and if there are conflicts or if this special space would not even be parsed).

They claim to offer some pretty impressive protection but I doubt that it works as well as they claim.  We do not know the impact this will have on the performance of the system of execution of the program - it can slow things down a lot (or there should be no significant impact at all).

It seems not be malware disguised - it seems to be a legitimate product (so from this perspective, it seems to be sure that there are other things to consider when evaluator security then I could not find enough information to say it's safe to install and use and to expect no problem - maybe none, minor, perhaps major - perhas I don't know).

I simply don't know enough about it to answer your questions.  I can tell you that I'm NOT going to install this program on my computer and I hear a lot more about (including valid comments that missing from the research I've done) and more info on how it works with the operating system and how it affects the performance of the system and other things, I won't recommend it to anyone.  I can't in good faith recommend this.   I don't even know if this is good enoguh to compete with many of the free alternatives available on the web (like Microsoft Security Essentials or Avast or AVG or others - and still less the other questions that I already pointed out that no documentation of the company treats).

I suggest using the free Microsoft Security Essentials as the AV program full-time and Malwarebytes as a backup to run every few weeks to catch anything THAT MSE missed.  These products are proven and safe and offer very good protection.

I hope this helps.  In the end, the decision is yours, but I can not give this product my support at this time.

    Good luck!

  • Are the "registry cleaners" safe to use?

    Hello

I just want to know if these so-called "registry cleaners" are safe to use.  Since they are all over the Internet, I guess a lot of people use them.  They give promises of better performance of the computer, get rid of all the waste left by the previously uninstalled programs.  But I think that an untrained hand, isn't it will cause more trouble?

The reason I ask is that Yes, I see records left by the previously uninstalled programs and it is quite annoying to find records that have nothing in them.  I just need advice if using these things will be OK.

And I would also be very happy if you could give suggestions on what cleaning products I'd use.  As you have noticed I am not very good with computers, but I also try to avoid delayed damage anything because I know I can't fix it.

    Thank you!

Yes! Registry cleaning programs are * all * snake oil. Cleaning of the
    ve only registry and
do not use any registry cleaner. Despite what many people think, and
What software record cleaning suppliers are trying to convince you,
have unused registry entries is not really make you hurt.

The risk of a serious problem caused by a registry cleaner by mistake
delete an entry you need is much greater than any potential benefit
    It can have.

Let me stress that neither me nor anyone else who warns the
use of registry cleaners never said that they always cause
problems. If they have always caused problems, they would disappear from
the market almost immediately. Many people have used a registry
cleaner and never had a problem with it.

The problem with a registry cleaner is that it carries with it
important * risk * to have a problem. And since there is no
benefits of using a registry cleaner, running that risk is a very bad
    good deal.
