As it is an internal webcam, go to the manufacturer of your machine Web site > looking for a manual for your model download and read up on how to use the webcam.
And for questions on what to do with your Google profile, contact Google:
"Put your Google profile picture."

How can I activate the web cam on and outside, on my laptop dv9000
I used my computer mainly to home bussiness and search. I am wanting to reach out now with the use of my webcam that is built into my laptop, I have never used this feature and don't know even how to enable or disable the web cam. I have a problem to find the answer using windows based on knowledge, should somone please tell me? I think I'll be ok with communication programs I have. Simply, I don't know how to turn on the web cam.
If she has successfully installed (the manufacturer of the laptop) and/or the webcam manufacturer drivers that allows to communicate with the operating system - then you just choose the program you want to use which can draw on the webcam and use - and do it.
Skype, Windows Live Messenger, etc. and so on...

OK my hard drive went and installed dell a new one now, I can't find my web cam all if on it I was just down loaded Skype it allows me to make video calls, but when I turn off Skype I can't find my web cam
You may need to re - download your webcam software. The driver itself is already installed and work (which explains why the other programs as Skype can use it), but if you want to use it alone, you need the Webcam video software.
It may be available for download at support.Dell.com, or you can search the Web for your favorite software. You remember what it was called? -
Satellite L870-124 web camera initialization failed.
When we arrived first of all our laptop, we have managed to find the web camera. We used it, but now I'd like to try Skype. The web camera is not found. On the start menu, it appears under "all programs" Toshiba"'media and entertainment'"web camera application. When you try to use it, we get a message saying that he was unable to initialize.
I tried to download the drivers from here but always got the same message.
My husband has managed to find the webcam in the BIOS by pressing F2 when the computer has just been turned on. It has been shown as active, so it isn't that.
I looked at how to find the Device Manager and have now found in the control panel under system and security. There is nothing here that looks like a web camera, not even by pressing the view and looking in hidden devices
I tried to read forum entries that seem to be similar problems, but I do not understand some of the answers.
I tried pressing FN and F9, Mine isn't a small sign of the camera. That didn't seem to do anything.
Can someone advise me in plain English, please. ?

So I had this recurring problem with my Web camera integrated, saying that the device is locked by a device. I turned the problem of evil and who came up with a different answer, saying that the device is not compatible. I would try other options before taking my computer geek team, ideas for this problem?
There are many applications that use a web camera. You can have Windows Live Messenger, Google Talk, Skype etc as examples. If one or more of these programs are already functioning in the computer, it will have access to the web-camera. So if you try to run another application that uses the camera, you might get this message. And applications like Skype, Google Talk, Windows Live Messenger, etc gets minimized in the system Notification area when you click on the X mark to close. So even if you think that you have closed these requests, in fact they can always clocked in the computer.
There are two things that can be done to check if this is the origin of the problem:
1. you can kill the process related to the programs that may be using your web camera from the Windows Task Manager and then check the issue. Here is how to kill a process:
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/end-a-process2. you can set the computer to boot and check the issue. Clean boot will start the computer keeping the disabled non-Windows programs. The link below describes the boot, I suggest to read entire article before performing the steps, because after troubleshooting, you probably want to the computer is back to normal startup again, which is also described in this article:
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135You also mentioned a message where some convenience store says that your device is not compatible with your operating system. I think you should contact Toshiba about this, rather than Geek Squad. You can have some driver or updates of the firmware available for your device, which, I believe, will be better known to the Geek Squad than Toshiba.
I hope that helps!

I had the same experience w / my T400. It seems that Win 7 is an application (outside of the OS) to display the image of the camera.

Live web cams do not come up when selected sites
Hi all
I am very new to Firefox, really impressed so far. However, when you visit www.seewinter.com, I should be able to display 'live webcams' but when I click on the link, the web cam look at a box does not appear. I was in the pop-up blocker and given permission, just in case this was the cause of the problem, but it still does not work.
I tried to go back to google and when I clicked on the link live webcams came instantly, clearly, I need to do something in firefox I do not know what.
Any help will be much appreciated.Thank you
Please visit this page: the plugins https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/ and update to the latest version (especially Adobe Flash for graphics, but both problems, other plugins to strengthen privacy and security on the internet.)
Sometimes it takes a while to load the videos, and not all cams are online 24/7.
