And for questions on what to do with your Google profile, contact Google:

OK my hard drive went and installed dell a new one now, I can't find my web cam all if on it I was just down loaded Skype it allows me to make video calls, but when I turn off Skype I can't find my web cam

You may need to re - download your webcam software.  The driver itself is already installed and work (which explains why the other programs as Skype can use it), but if you want to use it alone, you need the Webcam video software.

It may be available for download at support.Dell.com, or you can search the Web for your favorite software.  You remember what it was called?

(the advent of services internal) or the Support of Advent (see links below).

You probably need to reload the drivers of the device and any camera (general control software
included with the drivers and installed at the same time).

    Login as an administrator.

Control Panel - Device Manager - Imaging - write down of the brand and the model of camera - double
Click on it and on the tab of the driver is version. Now, click on update drivers (who cannot do anything
that MS is far behind the drivers of certification). The RIGHT CLICK on the camera - UNINSTALL
-REBOOT - it will refresh the driver stack.

Now, go to the system manufacturer's website and download the latest driver of the camera and other partners
the camera software (if not more recent get the same).

Download - SAVE - go to them and RIGHT CLICK - RUN AS ADMIN - reboot after each
    pilot.

Manually look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers.

It is preferable to ensure that the latest drivers from the manufacturer of system and device manufacturers are located)

Then let windows updates on however prevent loading of drivers that are often
older than those that you have installed. If updates suggests a pilot can HIDE and watch
manually to see if their really is a more recent version (both system and the manufacturer of the device manufacturer
    sites).

  • Failure of Toshiba web camera

So I had this recurring problem with my Web camera integrated, saying that the device is locked by a device. I turned the problem of evil and who came up with a different answer, saying that the device is not compatible. I would try other options before taking my computer geek team, ideas for this problem?

There are many applications that use a web camera. You can have Windows Live Messenger, Google Talk, Skype etc as examples. If one or more of these programs are already functioning in the computer, it will have access to the web-camera. So if you try to run another application that uses the camera, you might get this message. And applications like Skype, Google Talk, Windows Live Messenger, etc gets minimized in the system Notification area when you click on the X mark to close. So even if you think that you have closed these requests, in fact they can always clocked in the computer.

There are two things that can be done to check if this is the origin of the problem:

    1. you can kill the process related to the programs that may be using your web camera from the Windows Task Manager and then check the issue. Here is how to kill a process:
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/end-a-process

    2. you can set the computer to boot and check the issue. Clean boot will start the computer keeping the disabled non-Windows programs. The link below describes the boot, I suggest to read entire article before performing the steps, because after troubleshooting, you probably want to the computer is back to normal startup again, which is also described in this article:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

You also mentioned a message where some convenience store says that your device is not compatible with your operating system. I think you should contact Toshiba about this, rather than Geek Squad. You can have some driver or updates of the firmware available for your device, which, I believe, will be better known to the Geek Squad than Toshiba.

    I hope that helps!

I bought my Ideapad U330 under Vista. The first turn of the system on my web cam appears on the screen and worked very well. I've upgraded to Windows 7 and now cannot get the camera on the screen. The driver is installed and running, also when I press Fn + Esc icon appears on the screen showing the cam but no image of the cam show. Is there something I'm missing here? DRM for all suggestions/assistance received. fchurch74

I had the same experience w / my T400.  It seems that Win 7 is an application (outside of the OS) to display the image of the camera.

Try YAWCAM and see if it works for you.
