Turn on wireless capability

I have a Dell Inspiron 1525.  Last night I was able to connect to the internet through the wireless network.  This afternoon, I tried to connect all the wireless networks have disappeared and it is said that the wireless feature is disabled and I need to turn it on.  I looked on the search sites that told me to press Fn + F2.  I did and nothing happened.  I have diagnosed and repaired and again, get the 'turn on the wireless feature' issues.  I turned the router on and apart, and computer of my roommate (which I am on now) connects very well.

Help, please!

I hope this helps.

Cheers.

I currently have a Sony Vaio laptop, running Windows 7 Edition Home Premium. Today I came from work and my wireless connection has been disconnected. That morning, everything was beautiful and functional properly. I noticed that the led next to the switch wireless off even if the switch is turned on. Have you checked the device wireless in Device Manager?

Open run then type devmgmt.msc, then disable the check provided for in the network to see if the device is either missing or reports an error.

If it is disabled, then try to activate again.

  • Satellite A660-17 t - wireless capability is turned off

Hi, I hope someone can help.

I bought my laptop in February last as something "Toshiba reconditioned. The problem is that often when I use the laptop I suddenly lose the internet connection and troubleshooting knowledge than the 'wireless capability is turned off"even if I don't touch or whatever it is pressed. This happens randomly and not all the time I use the machine.

There is a wireless switch between the keyboard and screen, but which has no effect. The function keys don't seem to work as far as I can tell.

If I restart the laptop wireless then works fine? It can sometimes go for days without problem, or it can play up to continually?

I'm puzzled as to why he does on its own and why it is so random. I called the service desk and the guy got me to uninstall and then reinstall something in Device Manager, but it did not help. It was for me to 'restore' the machine to factory settings, but I am not convinced that this will help me?

I'm not a geek - then someone can you please advise if there is a setting or something I should use to prevent this.

The operating system is Windows 7 and my anti virus is AVG if that helps. It is not my router as other devices work fine.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

    > There is a wireless switch between the keyboard and screen, but which has no effect. The function keys don't seem to work as far as I can tell.

As much as I know there not additional switch to activate the Wlan. You can enable or disable the WiFi network using the FN + F8 key combination.
    Have you tried that?

In your case I would recommend updating the driver WLan.
In many cases, updates to improve the performance of WLan and could help you solve this problem
Of my knowledge, the laptop was equipped with a Wlan Intel card.
Thus, you should use the driver Intel Wlan from here:

  • HP Pavilion 17 Laptop: Wireless capability is turned off

I bought the new laptop and has worked well for me the last couple days. Clicked on another page and says unable to connect to the Internet. Resolve to see what the problem is and says 'wireless capability is turned off. Tells me to find keys function or button wifi, but as far as I know I am not one of them. I checked my wireless networks and they are supposed to connect automatically, so turn on the wifi on the laptop seems to be the only problem, but it seems that I can't. How do I turn it back on?

I had no idea f12 was the wireless icon, who held it down and worked, thank you.

See the user manual of your computer and search for these elements that can turn the wireless on and outside networking capability:

    • A switch on the housing.
    • A combination of keys, such as Fn + F5.

I got a blue screen, a week ago and when I turned on my laptop back my wireless capability was disabled. I tried everything from Mobilty Center to troubleshooting and uninstalling and reinstalling my wireless LAN and I'm sure that turn it on is to press the button of the wireless network on my laptop (F8).

The problem is my laptop keyboard is almost broken. My USB keyboard does not work because the FN keys have different functions and the on-screen keyboard does not work because it uses by default, non-specific computer functions.

I looked almost everywhere, but I couldn't find a soultion. Is there another way to turn it on?

You can probably find a replacement keyboard, but that may not be cheap, and unless you're very good at this yourself, you will need the services of a competent technician.  You should evaluate your decision to keep or replace.  Note: IF you want Win7, you can always buy nine notebooks with Win7 for companies such as Dell, if you represent yourself as a company.  I just last week helped a client do this.

  • East - Satellite 1130 has a wireless capability

    Hello

I have a 1130 Satellite which seems to have wireless capability, but I don't know if he has an installed card.
Can someone tell me how to say and offer advice on the type of acquisition card if he doesn't?

I have a switch wireless on the left side, but go off to makes no difference, also have an icon wireless Fn (F8), which again seems to make no difference.
I downloaded the user guide that shows the underside with a compartment for a socket wireless lan - what am I looking for here?

Be nice to me and speak slowly!

    Thank you
    Mick

    Hello

The WLan on the Satellite 1130 is optional.
Some of the Satellite 1130 units were equipped with the internal LAN card minPCI and a few laptops were not equipped with a WLan card.

If you want to know if your computer supports one then go to Device Manager and check the area to network adapters.
Should there have listed a LAN and WLan card card (if available).

    See you soon

  • Re: Can't turn off wireless on my Satellite L500-21dts

I have problem with wireless that is I can t turn off. I have windows 7 and I installed the drivers on the site for this series but can t always turns off Wireless using FN + F8.
My computer laptop doesn t have the manual button to turn off wireless! Really I put t know who can support me.

I ve asked the dealer and maintenance team, but they can t do anything! There is no online support for the brand as Toshiba who s shocked me!
So I'm still waiting to solve this problem, and I guess there is more customers like me having the same problem and we need the real solution!

    Stand by. Take it easy.

At first, I must say that you can call Toshiba hotline if you have any problems and ask for help. If you visit Toshiba support page for your country, you will find this number, so please don't write things on the media. If you need you can find it.

I can bet that you didn't even check the Toshiba support page to see if you can find the number of the line.
Your dealer is typical evidence that they don t have any idea of product they sold.
At least, I assume that you bought for laptop computer without an operating system preinstalled. Can you confirm this?

    Back to your problem:
All Toshiba stuff must be preinstalled in the order of specific facilities. I assume that you have installed all the drivers, tools and utilities, according to the order on the download page.
You say that you cannot enable/disable WLAN using FN + F8. Does that mean exactly?
This means you cannot use the combination of keys FN + F8 only or you cannot use FN (Flash cards) at all?

Sorry my friend but to reasonable discussion, it is important to have reasonable problem description. What you wrote, it's two sentences describing problem and two sentences complain Toshiba support.

  • Turn on wireless - Satellite A660 - 18

    Toshiba Satellite A660 - 18

I used this laptop to connect to the internet via a wireless connection, since I bought the camera a few months ago 3.
A little more than a week there is wireless and I have not been able to connect via a wireless connection, cable connection is correct.

When I check to see what the problem is dialogue "wireless communication is disalbled - please activate the wireless communication switch. Another dialog box also appears when I trouble shoot elsewhere 'Turn on the use of the wireless switch on the front or side of the computer keys or function if it is available to turn on wireless on this computer'.

I tried with F8 FN - but it says operate the wireless communication switch - as far as I know there is no manual switch for switching wireless power?

Any help would be fantastic, as it has become a pain.

    Thank you very much.

    Hello

The FN + F8 toggles between the Bluetooth, WiFi, and the WAN.
Please do not forget that you selected WLan!
In addition, the WLan led should blink ambler if WLan is enabled.

If this is not possible, check if the WLan driver update could help solve this problem.

    Welcome them
