Two fingers tap (right click) not enabled

Hey guys, I was wondering if someone could show me how do to activate the two fingers press the pad touch dell. I have an Inspiron 3521 and when I started using it I have to right click with my touchpad and then he stopped for some reason any. Would appreciate the help thanks. :)

Here is the step by step solution I solved the problem for two tap finger right click with my DELL. Just follow the steps...

  1. Press Win + R to open run, type regedit and press ENTER to open the registry editor.
  2. Go to "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Synaptics\SynTP\TouchPadSMB2cTM2382".
  3. On the right, double-click the "MultiFingerTapFlags" entry and update its value to 3.
  4. On the right, double-click the entry '2FingerTapAction' and update its value to 2.
  5. After, go to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Synaptics\SynTP\Win10".
  6. On the right, double-click the "MultiFingerTapFlags" entry and update its value to 3.
  7. On the right, double-click the entry '2FingerTapAction' and update its value to 2.

It is necessary to restart.

PS: If you do not find the "2FingerTapAction" just create a DWORD 32 bit, rename and update the value.

I hope it works!

  • Two fingers tap right-click (ALPS, Yoga 500) - here's how...

    Hello

I just wanted to share and in which case I need information later it's nice to be able to find it on the internet if I forgot.

I bought a Yoga 500 14 - IBD (born to Win10 - not upgraded) as is was on sale and I thought why not I need a second machine. It's actually a very nice machine and the Pentium seems much better in daily chores that I imagined (but her as Atom - like execution but in fact it's more like just below i3)

However not everything is rosy red. Like the 900 and probably many other laptops of Lenovo, he got a very annoying problem. NO TAP TWO fingers FOR a RIGHT CLICK ! Argh! Beyond me a deemed manufacturer manage to get two bad finger tap!

The Yoga of 500 I got is like the low end version of the 500 (although it got FHD IPS) and that's probably why they put in a touchpad ALPS while my 900 has got a Synaptics.

I have not found any information about to enable two finger tap, right-click on ALPS touchpads on the internet so I messed up a little round in regedit (I'm confident enough so has not been worried, worst restore values) thought why not share.

    1. open regedit

    2 Goto - HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Apls\Apoint\Gesture

    3. change the value of 2TapShow to 1

    4. change the value 2TapSupport to 1

    5. modify 2TapSetting value set at 13 decimal hex d

    6. do the same for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Alps\Apoint\Gesture

    7 restart the machine

Step 5 is optional. You are now in the control panel of the ALPS under multi finger set what you want two finger tap to do! Most likely, you want to have in the context menu, but there are also other options if you care right click.

This information is for Windows 10 ALPS driver v8.201.1611.252 so things are not exactly the same on your laptop and of course the use of information is at your own risk. Messing around in regedit can make operating system unusable if you make a mistake!

    - ENJOY YOUR 'NEW' TOUCHPAD! --

Also while adjusting your touchpad settings you can adjust the speed. Diffinately scroll speed to the maximum and sensitivity to the max as well. ALPS seems to jerk and get the fantom clicks if you're the type who just slightly touching the touchpad. Affecting sensicity max and the touchpad features very well no involuntary jerkyness and click.

    Sorry for a minor error!

I was writing this in my OneNote and discovered an error.

Point 5 is 2TapFunc NOT setting (!) However, this doesn't mean probably much - only that you should open the ALPS Control Panel to then hit the function instead of working just after regedit and restart both with the fingers together.

Sorry for inconvinience but the forum does not allow me to edit a post efter sometime!

  • U31-70 Alps touchpad - how to allow two-finger tap "right-click"?

    Hello

I have a problem with the Alps touchpad in the U31. I would like to bring up the contextual (right click menu) with a tap two fingers on the touchpad, but everything simply, nothing happens. In the options 2 finger Alps touchpad click fires and the small sample animation clearly shows how a tap two fingers works as a right click.

I'm pritty sure this is a software / driver issue, but I have installed v8.201.1611.250 and no new version seems to be available.

Anyone else had this problem or knows how to solve?

    Hey spidey101,

Thanks for your help! Remove and reinstall the drivers of the ALPS do not solve my problem, so I kept on looking and fortunately found a solution in this post:

    https://forums.Lenovo.com/T5/Lenovo-P-Y-and-Z-series/Y50-70-Alps-touchpad-add-2-and...

In the registry settings, I changed the following parameters:

    "HKEY_CURRENT_USER > software > Alps > Apoint > Guesture.

    "2TapSupport" = dword:00000003
    "Enable2Tap" = DWORD: 00000001
    '2TapFunc' = dword:0000000 d
    "2TapSetting" = dword:000000ff
    "2TapShow" = dword:00000009

!!! And I had to make the same changes in "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > software > Alps > Apoint > Guesture ' in the work of tap to '2 fingers as a right-click' on my U31-70.

  • Satellite L50 - Synaptics touchpad: two fingers tap - Middle-click

    Hi again.

I can configure the clickpad so that water from the tap emulates the middle two fingers (or the mouse wheel) click instead of right-clicking.

I can't find it among the properties of the clickpad.

    Thank you very much

    Hello

    The touchpad Synaptics are in
Control Panel? mouse? last tab device settings? Settings button-

(the name of the tab, button could be different)

If the option isn't available in the Synaptics settings, then the option isn't supported

  • Two fingers for secondary click tab does not work

I had to create a new user profile, because in my old profile all the apple connected apps crashed when opening.

My new user profile doesn't have this problem, but another: tab 2 fingers for secondary click does not work, even if it is selected in the trackpad options (System Preferences).

I tried the usual off click / click back on, restart the computer, etc.. No change.

Instead of secondary click, two fingers tab activates the scroll bar. I already disabled options scroll with two fingers, hoping that the problem would be a sort of interference, but again, no luck.

    Any ideas?

I found my own solution and decided to publish it for anyone having a similar problem:

When I activated the option "Ignore the trackpad when a mouse is connected" two-finger-click started working.

I can't explain why (I do not use a mouse, so it shouldn't make a difference), but who cares, it works now.

  • two fingers scrolling down does not work

After the upgrade to OS Sierra my Macbook air (2015) trackpad scroll (two fingers) does not work. Please provide a solution. Thank you

MacBook Air (13 inch, early 2015), OS X El Capitan (10.11.1)

It took a little time, but I found a solution.

    1. In System Preferences, open accessibility.
    2. Use your keyboard to scroll down on the left side of the mouse and Trackpad.
    3. Click the Trackpad button.
    4. Uncheck scroll and click OK.
    5. Click the Trackpad button.
    6. Scroll to check again, and then click OK.
    7. Check that this set.

It worked for me. Good luck to you!

  • Make a right click not work for nothing. Mouse MS are fair?

My MS mouse worked fine for several years, but recently the right click fails to do anything: file options, menus, menus for the office, etc.   It is also works well. Shows Device Manager all the drivers updated and "working properly".  I cleaned disk ChkDsk-ed, etc..  No change.

When I go to the control panel to see if changes it might work, it tells me the mouse is not connected or recognized so I can bring up any of the options to work with.  Yet, it is a MS mouse and worked on this machine and others before her.

I tried to use ShellexView, but I thought I was downloading of MS is a commercial Tracker program Reg Fix.

So I seem to be left with nothing else to do than to buy a new mouse Ms.  Everyone see alternatives?

I borrowed another mouse and it works fine.  I'm even able to get it recognized and see the different options available.  Odd that the least used key would be first.  Thanks to you two.

  • Remove 1 effect when right click, not all?

If I select 4 or 5 clips and right-click in Adobe Premiere. I can remove the effects. but sometimes I want to just delete, say 1 effect and keep the rest. But it seems that I must remove always all of them? Adobe you should do a feature that allows you to click on the effect you want to remove. Or is it still possible to get around?

    Thank you

Sorry this is not possible right now, but I saw many eager users of this behavior. Please add your feature request here:

You always use the same profile folder you used with the Nightly build (35.0a1)?

If you do, then you must create a new profile.

    See "create a profile":

If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a profile already used in the new profile, but be careful not to copy files corrupted to avoid transporting more problems.

With the decommissioning of a Nightly build might be unstable, you should be still more restrictive with what to retrieve.

  • Two fingers to scroll is not working - HP Envy x 2

He stopped all work all of a sudden. Which happened a few times, but the slip of the keyboard screen fix usually, but not this time.

Went to the Synaptics properties and disabled and re-enabled the scroll option and it still didn't fix it.

I even uninstalled the pad touch and restarted the couputer thing and it still does not work.

Have also downloaded the lastes Synaptic drivers and install, but it still does not work.

Not sure that the problem might be such that it is activated in synaptic properties and should by all means work. Could be hardware, but surely not what im thinking.

Anyone had this problem before? Signs obvious fix im missing?

Whatever actually, I thought about it from another forum.

Had synaptics to uninstall the original menu uninstall on windows, restart and then re install from the Recovery Manager. Works fine now.

  • Two finger Tap ALPS touchpad Flex 2 15

I have ALPS touchpad and currently use the v.8.201.1611.222 driver (I tried the previous drivers to). Shouldn't be any way to emulate the Middle click of the mouse with the touchpad?

I got exactly the same problem on a 500 of Yoga - also in the ALPS.

I have found no solution either but I managed to fix it myself and I shared what I discovered. Should surprise my fix if is not the same.

Or is - this just pure ignorance of Lenovo? This is one of those very small seemingly insignificant things that have a huge impact on the user experience... (!)

  • Portege Z30 - A - 18 M - unavailable two-finger tap

    Hello

I just bought the Z30 - A - 18 M and (of course) love it! The only thing that bothers me it is the inability to tap with two fingers to right click and click on three fingers for a midfielder. I saw some people describe the two fingers tap and two fingers click options in the settings of the touchpad, but I only have the click of two fingers.

In addition, I would be grateful if I could assign click Middle three finger tap/click, rather than see the desktop.

Not the 2/3-finger tap disappears in the latest alps driver or there is something wrong with my setup?

Problem solved by a person post in the Forums of Vista, that what he said in this thread (Thread link: http://www.vistax64.com/general-discussion/202928-open-choose-default-program-error-vista-2.html#post939031 ):

    "PROBLEM SOLVED!"
    HOO HOO!

I want to thank you once again BRINK for ideas on how to solve this problem.
The next step below, this is how I solved this annoying problem:

First of all, I came across this article on the Microsoft Web site by changing my google search to solve the problem. I started the google search with the following:

'open with' lack of context menu

Who brought results with the first being a microsoft link:

Command 'Open with' missing from the context Menu

Now the article didn't tell me exactly how to solve this problem, but it gave me an idea.
He said look at the following reg key:

    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Unknown\shell\openas\command

And he said to watch the following default value:

    C:\%windir%\rundll32.exe shell32.dll, OpenAs_RunDLL %1

After that, I noticed that the value was different, but then I noticed in watching the article says that this applies to Windows 95 and 98.
I then looked at the same key on my laptop that is running Vista Ultimate 32 bit also and I noticed there are subfolders on my laptop that my office did not have.
It should look like the following:

    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Unknown
    \DefaultIcon
    \+Shell
    \+openas
    \COMMAND
    \+opendlg
    \COMMAND

My office was only the DefaultIcon folder.
Well I just copied the key from my laptop and voila... it worked.
I thank the gods of the computer. This has really been bugging me. I know that some people would have just reconfigured or installed a new but I knew it was an easy fix. I thought it was a reg key or windows dll file, but I just need to find the location where he resided in. Luckily I came across this article which pointed me in the right direction. Now I feel like I accomplished something.

Sorry if this is a bit long but I HATE it when I'm looking for answers in the forums and I see someone say they have solved their problem, but they either don't say anything about how they fixed or that they are so vague that they could didn't say anything.
I hope this helps others if they have this problem.

Thank you once again on BOARD! "

    That's all!

  • Disable Synaptics Touchpad tap to click through registry?

I have a laptop HP-G60-553NR 3 year and enjoyed with a Synaptics Touchpad (OS is Windows 7 64-bit).  I use the latest & greatest, driver recommended by HP:

    2009-08-28, version: 13.2.2.0 has

This driver no longer works well at all (erratic click functions, unstable, moves through the screen on its own, etc.), but there were no other updates from HP and uninstalls / reinstalls multiple set.  After a ton of frustration, my only solution is to download & install the latest Synaptics driver:

    2013-02-25, version: 16.3.15.1 (Windows 8/7/XP/Vista 32/64-bit Edition)

In principle, it worked well and the stability is back, but with a problem; I lost any opportunity to change the Touchpad settings - and with this driver, Tap-to-Click is ENABLED by default and I want to turn it OFF.  I lost the "Device settings" tab in the control panel there are long (not), but there was also a mini-outil of support which could be installed/activated in the system tray where I could switch tap to click power.  This option is no longer possible because if I install it, it reverts back to 13.2.2.0 driver.

My dilemma: 1) I can't go back to the old driver because it's a disaster.  (2) I need to stay with the new driver, but I hope to find a way to disable tap-to-click.

I see only three solutions: 1) maybe the gurus of HP or some of you who monitor these forums are aware of a more recent version, stable driver that works with my particular model or 2) someone can instruct me the keys in the registry, turn the tap to click on/off so I can turn it off myself (, or 3) use external mouse all the time (which is hard to do when the mobile).

Synaptics doesn't give any support and simply tells the user to 'contact your manufacturer', so here I am.  Any guidance would be appreciated.  In addition to this problem, my laptop is rock solid.

    Thank you!

    SOLVED!

I continued to try to solve this problem after the validation and finally found at the level of the program folder Files\Synaptics\SynTP.  I noticed there are several requests here, so I started to run them one by one.

SynTPEnh.exe is the latest version of the mini tool, "Synaptics Touchpad Enhancements" that I had used.  It offers the possibility to load only once, or allow to load at startup in the system tray.  Left click + functions simply open the Control Panel, but right click + displays the appropriate menu where I can uncheck the tap to click.

I hope this information is useful to others, because there are like mine all the ' web on several different platforms.
