Two RV016, gateway to gateway, routing over VPN

Hello

I have two RV016, I have a vpn connection from gateway to gateway between the two and I can ping computers on both sides, but I can't reach the third lan (10.0.0.0/255.0.0.0). I can join this network to routerA but not of routerB.

My Network typology:

Configuration of routers (see attachments)

How can I configure static routes on router B?

I tried to do, but it does not work (see RouterB_routing.jpg)

Can someone help me?

Thank you.

Krzysztof,

Unfortunately the rv016 you cannot make static through the vpn tunnel routes as it isn't an ipsec interface in the static routes section of the router.  This is normal, the router will recognize that the default setting of lan in the vpn tunnel.

You need to business routers to make the static routes through the ipsec tunnel.

  • Routing over VPN between ISA550W and RV215W

Hello all I have a problem with the VPN between my two office

I have an ISA550W at the head office (chcnorth)

I have a RV215W to the remote desktop (chcsouth)

the VPN is up and running, I can connect from Headquarters to remote control (chcsouth-RV215W)

and vice versa however when client computers on the remote end are trying to connect to the

Main office to access the database, they can't.

the problem started last week I received a call from the remote desktop that they can connect to our database

on the main office, I tried to connect remotely to see what was going on, it turns out that the router has completely put back

at the plant, including the firmware

I reinstalled the latest firmware for the RV215W of installation all connections as they were, I could

get VPN to connect, I can ping to the interface of the RV215W from my seat and I ping the ISA550W

the remote desktop, however my remote clients still cannot access my server at the main office

I realized after I have everything set up, I had a backup of my original installation and thinking I had

So I am now at a loss, there were no other changes to the network on both ends, I've been on this som my eyes several times

any ideas, workarounds for solutions would be greatly appreciated

    Thanks in advance

    John,

It doesn't look like your question is more DNS related, as you can access the server by its IP address if the "connection" allows you to set up this way. It is quite common, that you cannot resolve names through the tunnel because netbios broadcasts will not pass. The RV215W have shared DNS within the parameters of the tunnel, so this isn't an option more.

If the "connection" is a PC, you can work around this by editing the LMHOSTS file. Please see the following instructions:

    http://www.JakeLudington.com/Windows_7/20100924_how_to_edit_windows_7_lmhosts_file.html

In your case, it might look more at:

    192.168.1.200 sqlsvr

Now if you ping or try to access sqlsvr from the computer, it will automatically know that it should go to 192.168.1.200 without having to find the IP address.

Answer please if you have any questions.

  • Jabber/MOVI routing over VPN on VCS-E calls

    Hi all

I have a problem with the situation to follow.

-2 Movi Client via VPN Tunnel on the motorway-VCS connectet

-the two VPN tunnel on the same subnet.

    -Ice set up NO!

Now the problem is that the traffic is passing through the VCS-E but goes multimedia traffic, which is in this situation via VPN would not be allowed.

Is it possible to configure something that all signaling and media traffic is going through the VCS-E if the two MOVI Client on the same subnet?

    Best regards

    Georg

The call between the Jabber bot and video customers have the same contact address of sip and IP source address, then VCS will treat as non-traversal call (client is not behind the firewall).

That's why VCS won't stay in media routing.

You are able to configure the VPN client DHCP range for the different subnet IP address?

  • SIP over VPN and 1.0.2.6 Firmware RV120W

Updated 1.0.2.6 and all of a sudden devices SIP works via the VPN no longer work. Downgrade from version 1.0.1.3 and they work again. Any ideas? My guess is that some ports are blocked on the VPN in 1.0.2.6

I thought the whole idea was that fixed bugs rather than introduce firmware ugrades.

Suggestion for Cisco:-Zip downloads of image of the firmware, or have an upgrade process which includes a CRC check, as it at least the poor punter will have an indication if they have been damaged. I had a subtle memory problem that corrupts certain files. Download of the firmware seems to fill in correctly and you can log on OK but some menu choices resulted in a deadlock with the "Please wait... the page is loading" message. Thorough check of the file sizes revealed that the file I'm downloading in the router is different in size to those on the site, a few hundred bytes must have been corrupted during the download. But the download was normal with no indication of any errors. It's a pretty basic protection measure that should be there as a no-brainer with the router was conducting a CRC check and showing an error if it fails.

    Hello Michael,

Maybe you have active SIP Application layer gateway. Please try to disable this SIP over VPN works great.

Firewall--> avancΘs--> remove the checkbox of the SIP ALG.

  • RV016 for 20 site to site VPN

    Best regards

Currently I have a RV016 and a router RV110W to try to connect to one of our branches (retail of clothing) with the central site, we managed to install and VPN works very well, but we have more than 19 stores throughout the country.

In stores, we can have 2 to 8 computers such as point of sale, one of them acting as server to our system, this server is required to connect to the main server in the central office.

My question is: we have received some tips from people who say that these facilities are too small to connect to our 20 stores, anyone know if this is true? These RV series are suitable for this amount of connection of branches?

Thanks in advance for any help!

    Hello

The ASA5506 is a very good security device and give you a lot more security.   The RV016 isn't a security feature, but it has a firewall.  Less flexible, less features.

You need the ASA5506-x w / power of fire and more security license.  With the license of security Plus the 5506 do support that 10 IPsec VPN tunnels.  With the license, it supports 50.

The broadband VPN (speed), however, is substantially the same between the ASA and the RV016.  ASA get 100 Mbps VPN and the RV016 get 97 Mbit/s throughput.  very similar.

The neck of the bottle is actually with the RV110w on the remote site.  There only get 5 Mbps VPN throughput.  You should consider the RV130W with 50 Mbps VPN throughput.

    Kind regards

  • vs Router Firewall VPN site-to-site

    Dear

I would like to know the two Cisco 2901 or 2921 router and Cisco ASA 5505 convertible in site-to-site VPN.

    (1) what is the different from building the VPN site-to site between the router and firewall?

    (2) who is the best choice if you are using site-to-site VPN connection?

    Best regards

    Alan.

With this amount of sites connected to the internet and some in MPLS, you must choose a solution that gives you a good setup - and routing-scalibility. Both is better on IOS then on the SAA. I would go directly to FlexVPN which is the latest technology in IOS and offers many features like good scalability, integration of routing and (if you want) has talked to spoke connectivity without much config extra. Routers need completely new images, I would start with 15.2.4M3.

For scalability-IPSec you should plan to use certificates, a CA server is provided with IOS:

  • Problems with my 4 port Gigabit Security Router with VPN

OK, I got a wireless router and I have a Web site hosted by 1and1.com and I could connect my fine site. But recently I got the 4 port Gigabit Security Router with VPN and since then I have not been able to connect to it even, I started my own ftp server it always blocks and it will capture everything until she tries to recover the files, then it expires just after a while

What is the model number of your device? If you have a Web server and an FTP server behind the router, you will need to transfer the ports used by the said request. Ports TCP 80 and TCP 21.

  • SIP over VPN tunnel

We have VPN tunnel in our firewall with the other partner peer. We use ASA 5520 with IOS "asa825-k8" and ASDM version 6.4.

our partner has several services running in this tunnel VPN, including the SIP.

other services work very well only SIP connections cannot come.

the question is we allowed any IP service on the inside and outside interfaces, but this topic could not come to the top.

is - there any SIP over VPN option must be configured on ASA?

    Hello

As you can see in the newspapers, it is denied to the inside interface.

If you just need to allow this by opening an ACL for this traffic on port 5060.

I would like to know if it works.

    Kind regards

  • RV082 to RV016 gateway to gateway VPN

Hello. I currently have a RV082 to setup VPN gateway to gateway RV016 between my office and home. The tunnel is connected and I have an installation Avaya IP phone and work. The problem is when I try to open a network folder shared on my server in the office. I ping the server and at the office. I can access some folders on the server using internet explore using the method 'name \\server\folder. But I can't open the files I have premapped. When I'm on the network in the office everything is ok. When I get home I get the message "path not found network". I tried to remap and go home empty-handed. Initially, I thought that maybe it's a setting on my server but rejected since I can ping and access through the method of EI. Any ideas? I get very frustrated here! Thank you.

I thought about it by chance after reading several other posts of similar problems.  Under the gateway to gateway VPN configuration, you must navigate to the tab advanced for the IPSec configuration.  Both options of NAT Traversal and broadcast NetBIOS must be enabled at both ends and it works!

    Thanks for your help.

  • Question card crypto for VPN gateway router

I'm moving my VPN environment at 2811 routers. I move a seller more tomorrow which has two sources who need to connect to each of our IPs, those inside the IPs are NAT had real IPS at the firewall behind the router. I know I'll find out tomorrow, but thought I would see if anyone see a problem with this ACL that is used for the encryption card, is there a problem with multiple sources (50.50.50.1 et.2 in file) connection to the same destinations? The IP addresses in this file are not real output IPs. Thank you.

If I understand you correctly, no it should not be a problem at all. Each entry in your crypto ACLs card will create a separate IPSEC security association pair and there is no overlap.

Let me know if I misunderstood your question.

  • Using WRT54GS as a point with a gateway router

My family just moved into a new House, and the package Internet for our DSL included installation of a router wireless (non-Linksys) and the (plugged into the DSL modem) Internet gateway down in the basement.  The problem is that the intensity of the signal on the 2nd floor is very low, sometimes non-existent.  Since we have a Linksys WRT54GS router v.2 lying around the previous House, I thought that I would try to put up with our main router, to set up a new network on the 2nd floor by using the ethernet connection.

But I keep running into trouble.  I have reset the router so that I know how to find all the settings and I can now access the admin wireless page and I managed to change the network name, and also to configure encryption.  That's all before you connect to the Internet, so of course I can only access the admin page and nothing else.

But once I plug the ethernet cable - which leads directly to the bridge down - router the Linksys router just stopped working and is no longer distributes all packets at all when I check the connection details.  It does not even serve to the top of the admin page, even if my computer indicates a connection.  Reset the cords for connection to a "Limited or no connectivity" error, both with the wireless connection and also a wired connection using a standard ethernet cable to the back of the Linksys router in my computer.  It's as if plug the Linksys router on the Internet (i.e. the other router) it freezes or it confuses.  I can only make it work again by disconnecting the active Internet cable and turn off the router and then turn it back on.

I tried to change the mode of operation to the router, and I also changed the default address of my other router (192.168.1.1, which otherwise, would share it with the Linksys router) out of the way but none of it works.

Once again, I can access the admin wireless page and make all kinds of changes to the installation and get it works perfectly - until I plug my other router (i.e., for reference, a TRENDnet TEW-432BRP) Linksys.

Since all wired computers work fine with the TRENDnet router modem, I am writing to you guys for helping me understand how to configure the Linksys router to work with her too, so I can use wireless on the 2nd floor of this House.

Of course, if you think this is impossible for some reason, please let me know so that I can live with it and get my life back.

    Thank you very much.

Well, you can try this... Cascade of the router...

Just connect a computer directly to the router Linksys - access your router (WRT54GS) setup and change the default address to 10.10.10.1, let the 'Enabled' DHCP server and save the changes... Wait a minute, unplug the power cable from your router, wait 30 seconds and reconnect the power cable...

Now connect your router to bridge its Ethernet Port to the Internet Port Linksys router... See if you can connect to the Internet...
