  Also, when installing windows 10, I pressed accidentally the "option" key after the installation finishes (it goes then to the start menu) and then I select the windows partition to boot windows. I don't know if that will cause a problem like that or not.

  After the start under os x, the installation of windows partition is removed.

• Yosemite MAC, when I open Firefox I get two windows, when I click on a link in mail, it opens a window not a tab.

  I place the FireFox icon in the dock. When I click to open FireFox it opens two windows both to the homepage. When you click on a link in the email, it will open a window behind the first window rather that open in a tab. There used to be a preference re: opening links, but given that it was useful, it seems that Apple has removed this option unless it's hidden somewhere I can't find.

  What you have is, in my view, two problems.

  Hello recently (last days), I noticed that clicking on links opens two windows: one being the homepage (using BING) and I have to close this tab to access my expected page.
  Do not remember having this problem in recent years. Have you checked the default preference: create open new windows in a new tab instead of this and, when I open a link in a new tab, switch to it immediately.
  Both windows are open in a new window as opposed to a new tab in the same window. (clear as mud?)
  It's getting a bit tedious. Is this a bug with the new version of FF?

  Try Firefox Safe mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode that temporarily disables hardware acceleration, restores some settings and disables add-ons (extensions and themes).

  If Firefox is open, you can restart Firefox Safe mode in the Help menu:

  • In Firefox 29,0 and above, click on the menu button

    then select restart with disabled modules.

  • In previous versions of Firefox, click on the Firefox button in the upper left of the Firefox window and click help (or click on help in the Menu bar, if you do not have a Firefox button) and click on restart with disabled modules.

  If Firefox is not running, you can start Firefox in Mode safe mode as follows:

  • On Windows: Hold down the SHIFT key when you open the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.
  • On Mac: Hold the option key during the startup of Firefox.
  • On Linux: Exit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run firefox-safe-mode
    (you may need to specify the installation path of Firefox for example/usr/lib/firefox)

  When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "start mode safe."

  

  If the problem is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, theme or hardware acceleration. Please follow the steps described in the section Troubleshooting extensions, themes and problems of hardware acceleration to resolve common Firefox problems to find the cause.

  To exit safe mode of Firefox, simply close Firefox and wait a few seconds before you open Firefox for normal use again.

  When find you what is causing your problems, please let us know. This might help others with the same problem.

  Thank you for your answers and sorry it took me so long to respond. My observation is that both feature snap windows and the separator of fox addon do nothing more than to create windows. Why then do I need tabs. The problem is that I did a bad job explaining what I'm looking for. In other browsers, you can either "tile" or "cascade" of all the tabs and can then resize, move, hide, etc. each display tab individually, or you can close it by closing the main window. For my immediate use, can I use the component feature snap, once again thank you for your answers. Note that I also tried the tile addon tab, but still once it seemed to be nothing more than the creation of multiple windows.

  Adjust the size of the window , not the size of the tabs. Open 2 Windows, not 2 tabs.
