  In a single pdf, I try to find places where both words appear near each other. The document is structured with Adobe Framemaker manual. The words are 'context' and 'element' (I'm trying to find out what "context" means in EDD in Framemaker).

  Using the advanced search on Acrobat Professional XI, but the answer is the same in Acrobat Reader of XI, i.e. no results.

  Proximity will become available if you use an index (Tools > Document Processing > full text with catalog index), you can create with Acrobat Pro for only this document if you place it in a folder itself. You can also select "match all words" or whatever the exact wording is in the Advanced Search Panel.

  A rule of thumb is to leave the only standard paragraph. Otherwise you can mess up other styles based on that.

  To set up your new style - which may by default based on the standard paragraph - and formatting you wish. Then base on that other styles.

  Your laptop has a touchpad?  Chances are good that you are accidentally in touch with her all by tapping and activating the latter and that moves the cursor (and before you notice it, you typed a letter whenever the cursor moves towards).  This happened to me until I bought a separate mouse and disable the touchpad - then the problem has disappeared.

  Some touchpad controls (usually located under the start menu / control panel / mouse have commands to disable the touchpad while typing.)  See if that is the case with yours and if so, activate the function, and it can be useful.  If you do not have the service contact the computer manufacturer to obtain the latest device drivers touchpad and install (and update the drivers for the keyboard while you're there just in case it is the source of the problem, but I think it is the touchpad) - they contain the function as an upgrade.  Go to the Device Manager by going to start / find and type Device Manager and enter and then double-click on the program icon that appears.  Check each device to a red x, yellow! or white?  These identify devices with problems probably (drivers, but also of conflict or something else).  Click on each for more details and troubleshooting tips.  If you need to get drivers (and you do it for your keyboard and touchpad), get the computer dealer or the manufacturer of the device (NOT of Microsoft Updates).  In fact, you must disable automatic updates in Windows Update driver as follows: http://www.addictivetips.com/windows-tips/how-to-disable-automatic-driver-installation-in-windows-vista/.   Your observations are accurate. The 'suggestions' are previous entries in the same column that correspond to what has been entered so far in the active cell. The only direct user control is to activate the function turn on or off in numbers preferences > general.

  There are other ways to include or exclude items of suggestions:

  • To remove typos in the suggestions list, the user must correct the typos in the cell above the active cell. If they are more in the list, they won't be presented as suggestions.
  • To include selections added to the list, the user must enter these suggestions in the individual cells above the active cell and column where they are wanted as suggestions.

  There was a request here a while there is a list of suggestion 'live' similar to those of some websites, which offers a descending list of possible entries as a type in an input box.

  The only way I see to reach a solution similar to what you have asked is to use as many lines at the top of the non-en-tete of the table section to list the items likely to repeat in your table, and then hide the lines. You'll need a list for each column where you want to use this feature with a list previously planted. Existing items will then require a likely hit up to three, then a click to choose from a list small enough to enter a value into a cell.   The text turns blue, because you mentioned it.  The most plausible explanation to highlight all of the text while typing is due to hit CTRL-A, which is the same as Edit | Select all.  Then when you type a character when this text is highlighted, then highlighted (blue) text is replaced by the character you typed.  Be very careful to not press the CTRL key instead of the SHIFT key when you type a capital letter A or else which will never happen.

  If your cursor jumps around then also scan your system against viruses and malware.

  I have Acrobat Pro DC and Windows 10.  When you try to make editing comments, I find almost impossible to get the words marked (by rolling on it with the mouse button).  The blue highlight climbs around the word to Word or closed unexpectedly after rolling on a single word, even if the mouse button was released.

  Create a Style group in each document and move all styles in this file. Give each document a different name. Do it with all kinds of styles: paragraph, character, objects, tables and Cell Styles. Then you can sort them later in the merged document what you do with these styles.

  Let's see if I understand differently from others. You want to apply bullets manually from time to time without having to select a new style, you would do this by pressing the button bulleted list in the Control Panel, and you want the settings for tabs and indents, other than the default. Is this correct?

  Far as I can tell there is no way to do it. You cannot configure the settings for the chips unless the text cursor is active or if you set a style, there is no way to set up the new default values. You don't want to not set parameters whenever you need a ball, then either you type the balls by hand, tab and insert a hyphen character here, which is actually a lot more work, or you go ahead and set up the style. You can access the list of style in the menu drop-down control panel, or you can add a keyboard shortcut to give you quick access, or press Ctrl (Cmd on Mac) + entry for quick access to apply and start typing the name of the style (almost as fast as a keyboard shortcut).
