Typekit Webfonts in E-mail

I would use once of Typekit in a series of emails, that we are working on. Looks like Typekit webfonts are implemented on a site using javascript, but it will not work to send. Is there a right CSS/@import to use Typekit webfonts?

Thank you.

-Rob

PS, I am well aware of the support very limited for webfonts in e-mail clients, but I was asked to implement so that clients that support he sees the police preferred.

Hi Rob,

It's Ben of Typekit. Unfortunately, this is not possible with Typekit due to the fact that it requires JavaScript. We do not have a CSS option at this time.

I'm sorry, that I couldn't be more helpful here. Let me know if you have any other questions.

See you soon,.

Benjamin

As a Web Designer I sometimes choose fonts for my site that are available in form of time only. I know that we can use the desktopfonts, but if the font is available as a web font only we cannot use them in Photoshop. Anyone know of a workaround, or when it will be possible to use them in Photoshop?

Thanks for the explanation, Michael. I'll pass your comments to the team and see if there are options like this we could offer in the future.

Trevor, thanks for your kind words!  We are pleased to hear that you're enjoying the new feature of correspondence of fonts in Photoshop. It was the combined efforts of several teams, and it's nice to hear comments about it.

  • Cannot publish the FTP site with TypeKit Web fonts

When I publish on Business Catalyst, I can see the fonts I used. When I publish the FTP host, my TypeKit Webfonts are not used.

    Marc

The Ste URL or domain you specify in the dialog box of Muse FTP must be "www.excelendeavormedia.com" because it is the server that should be able to use Typekit fonts, as well as the page. Keep in mind, this has nothing to with the FTP process itself!

  • both typekit works in the trial version of Muse too?

Hi, I'm testing Muse in the Trial Version, before deciding to join the creative cloud (adapter end...)

Muse seems to be the solution for me to create websites, so I'm happy so far but:

It seems that the built-in Typekit Webfont recently to Muse does not work when I transfer my test to ftp site.

I miss something or something wrong or this function work only after that I have to start my subscription of the CC?

  • WebFonts not seen in the browser

I try Typekit webfonts in Muse site for the first time. No text appears when you preview the page and the site in the browser. It presents a very good preview in the Muse and to publish. Not really a major problem. But I used to only preview in the browser so I lost a good amount of time before realizing that the fonts have been actually works very well. Someone else knows this happen? I work in Chrome.

    Hey everybody,

At this point, the Chrome team has corrected the problem, so workaround is no longer necessary. It can be removed from your safetly pages, because they now have no effect on your site. The point will be deleted from the Exchange as well shortly.

  • WebFonts and Typekit fonts will not correctly work in Windows7 Chrome

I tried almost all the browsers for Windows 7 and Chrome is always the black sheep for me (surprisingly not IE). Many fonts typekit and webfonts look perfect in Muse, Muse Preview, IE and Firefox.

But when I open the Chrome, the horror begins.

I use this cool site Dani of Muse jams posted for this demonstration (site is not me): http://www.pmorenofotografo.com/

    Google Chrome:

    chrome.jpg

Notice how the menu looks like all the "pixelated".

And it's the same site in Firefox:

    firefox.jpg

    The menu seems perfect.

This problem is making me spend more time choosing the right font for my sites, I'm sure everybody wants their site to look perfect on all browsers out there.

I used another site to prove that the issue was not my Web sites. Furthermore, none of my sites have this question cause I have spend hours to find fonts that do not resemble this on Chrome.

    Hi Seruhio,

What you see here is in fact a difference in how Chrome and rendering of fonts. Unfortunately, there is nothing that can be done about it. Chrome font rendering is, for some fonts, not very good, and the only way to really know is to check the appearance of your fonts in the browser. If you are interested, Typekit team made a very long series of blog posts on the difference in rendering of fonts for the web, including recommendations for policies that make it well. Positions are at this point a few years old, but they are still very useful in learning about differences.

Hello Typekit team and fellow community members,

I'm trying to get some clarification on the use of Typekit, and fonts for commercial use. We are a video game publisher and our marketing team uses CC for teams to make resources for our games.

Here are some of the questions asked by our management team:

    1. are all the fonts in the kit of type OK for commercial use?

    2. the following uses, which are OK and which are not OK?  Vary fonts, or are identical terms throughout the entire library?

      • do logos? these logos can be used:
        • on the packaging of the game
        • in PR communications (e-mails, press releases, etc.)
        • in the trailers
        • on our Web site
        • in the title of the game screen (note, more often .ai and .png format)

    5. are there any other restrictions that we should be aware of?

6 is the distribution of an asset OK perpetually after this asset was created?  In other words, if we do a newsletter using Creative cloud and then later discontinue our service, this newsletter can still be distributed, correct? As long as the asset is created while our subscription is active?

7 adobe offer any sort of warranty or indemnification against claims of breach of copyright (for a particular font)?

We understand that the distribution of the police is illegal because it is considered to be a software. If the font file itself is unable to enter the game, but a chart that is created by using the font is allowed, is that correct?

    Thanks for your time,

Re-post my response by e-mail for you here.

Every Typekit fonts are available for commercial use. It covers almost everything that you listed in question 1, as long as you use only a static graphic images in the game (eg. (PNG). It is not possible to use Typekit fonts in a reliable HTML email, so we do not support at this time.

3 are OK fonts for use around the world, which means that the assets we create can be distributed around the world?

    > The created assets can be distributed around the world, as long as you do not distribute the font software or embed fonts in a document that allows third parties to create content.

    4. the fonts are editable? (this is to say, say that the letter 'W' is difficult to read. Can we change it?)

    > You can edit a vector image of the fonts, but not the font software itself.

    6. is OK distribution of an asset perpetually after that this asset was created? In other words, if we do a newsletter using Creative cloud and then later discontinue our service, this newsletter can still be distributed, correct? As long the asset is created while our subscription is active?

    > Yes, you can still distribute documents that you created with a subscription once the service is cancelled. You will not, however, be able to make changes and open the modified files will result in fonts missing warning.

Please make sure that you take a look at our terms of use, following the link. All the limitations and restrictions are there. Adobe offers no protection to new copyright violation claims, but if you use our fonts in the license of USE restrictions you shouldn't have a problem.

  • Fonts Typekit vanished - how to restore?

    Hello

I am a subscriber to the creative cloud. I found only recently (in the last month or almost) my access to Typekit was demoted to a free account, and not a portfolio account. Fonts, I already had access to all disappeared from the Windows and Macintosh machines I have permits to use creative Cloud applications.

Can I specify that nothing has changed regarding the licensing of these fonts? That the "typotheque full for web use and sync is provided with a monthly or annual creative paid Cloud any subscription Apps;"-as shown on this page, find out what you need to use Typekit, and what is included with your subscription

That's what I have. Therefore, how to restore the Typekit functionality to my machines under license?

An additional Singularity - on looking at my page to manage an account - it says that I have two subscriptions CC - a 'creative cloud membership (at least)' and another ' free membership creative cloud. " Is this normal?

With deep gratitude for all the help offered,

    Scott Macdonald

    Hi Scott,.

I'm sorry that you trouble with that!

    > "I have two subscriptions Creative Cloud" said.

It doesn't sound like there is a problem with the subscription of creative cloud that affects your access Typekit.  You send us a screenshot of the page of your account as well as the e-mail address that use you Typekit & Creative Cloud to [email protected]?

Let's take a look at your account details and get this sorted out.  Thank you

  • Fonts: Selfhosting or Google much faster than Typekit/Edge?

It is much faster font free host or use Google instead of Typkit fonts?

I did a test by myself: my website http://DAS-werbeatelier.de now (since yesterday) use "Lato" Edge-Webfont.

I m sure, this isn't the right way to test, but I took 'Google Page speed Insight' with a result of 47 (mobile) (bad) and 58 (desktop).

Before yesterday the same website also used Lato - but as police auto-hébergées on my server.

The result of speed Page was: 51 (mobile) and 64 (desktop).

That's a significant difference - and it seems to be known.

    https://www.keycdn.com/blog/Web-font-performance/Bildschirmfoto 2016-08-03 um 08.18.16.JPG

If this can be true? This means that, if you want a really fast site (-muse), Don t use Typekit oder Edge-Fonts?

On the other hand, it is very convenient to use Typekit/Edge with Adobe Muse...

I understand. 2 seconds "before opening" kill really!

Have you tried to pass on the new option I mentioned above?

  • Typekit fonts do not online publication

I looked in the forums for Muse and similar Typekit, but I can't seem to find the problem.

I just published a Web site created in Muse: iampioneer.org

I have 2 families of fonts added as webfonts (Adelle & Proxima Nova) in Muse and also a Typekit Kit.

This is how it is supposed to look like:

    Screen Shot 2016-05-20 at 2.10.22 PM.png

1 police (Adelle) makes it very well on the website of my local station, but Proxima Nova is substituted for Arial/Helvetica:

    Screen Shot 2016-05-20 at 2.10.51 PM.png

And on other computers, but the fonts substituted for other fonts:

    Screen Shot 2016-05-20 at 2.11.07 PM.png

    Any help is appreciated!

Sorry for the late reply! The domain must be added in Muse.

    1) go to Muse and choose the option "Export to HTML".

    (2) you will be asked to provide a list of domain names for export. Make sure you add all your domains to this list.

    (3) upload the new HTML to your web server and Typekit fonts will begin work in a few minutes.

  • Can I use the Typekit fonts for an email from custom through provider constant Contact code?

The problem is that I'm not sure what field to save under? Constant contact is not really able to give me a clear answer as to what field they would use for email?

    Thank you!

    Hey Evan,

Thank you for your interest in Typekit!  It is not possible to use Typekit in reliable email HTML fonts, so we do not support at this time. In addition to the requirement of the field, Typekit requires JavaScript and @font-face to load fonts. No e-mail client that we are aware of these two requirements is supporting right now.

We keep an eye on the question of whether this is possible in the future, but you will not be able to use Typekit with permanent Contact at the moment.  Sorry I could not be more helpful, but please let me know if you have any other questions.

  • Typekit poster bad ligatures

When I use some Typekit fonts, they have a different appearance in MUSE online. Bookmania, for example, shows beautiful ligatures between capital and lower-case letters, and I use it for this feature. However, when I publish the page, ligatures are not as I wanted. Any ideas?

    Hi Christophe,

Here is the answer that we talked by e-mail for the history of the forum:

Muse does not support Discretionary ligatures like Th default, due to the limited support of browser. To include Discretionary ligatures in your site, two changes in Page Properties.

    (1) under Options: change the menu character set by default to all the

    (2) under the terms of metadata: Add this CSS custom for the HTML code "for"."section to turn on conditional ligatures in the site:"

Then export the project as HTML, once again, and you will get the ligatures like "Th":

This works in all desktop browsers, but not on iOS or Android:
