  I installed my first WLC 5508 with this topology:

  WLC connected trought distribution SFP 1 GB port to the port of switch configured as a Trunk port cut 3 Wireless VLAN:

  -Management WLC, wireless and wireless voice data Vlan (Vlan native is WLAN Management).

  -J' created 2 dynamic interface on WLC on my VLAN Wireless:

  10.7.1.0/24: default management Virtual Interface installing WLC +.

  10.7.6.0/24: Virtual Interface of voice and

  10.7.2.0/24: Wireless Data Interface virtual trought GUI.

  DHCP configured on each dynamic interface is the interface vlan L3 subent for SWITCH main technical IP DHCP Pool equal VLAN.

  WLC management interface IP address is: 10.7.1.10/24

  I create 2 WLAN SSID name with given ID 1, and ID2 voice.

  I create and AP group named APGRP1 that contains the AP recorded about WLC and using the two WLAN SSID.

  The two AP are connected to the switch acess port configured as native management WLC VLAN access port.

  I have to create 3 IP DHCP pool on main switch with the related L3 Interfaces for Inter VLAN routing.

  Problem: when I try to connect from mobile data SSID I get IP address of management WLC VLAN a VLAN data no.

  the same case of Wireless IP Phone configured with voice SSID.

  What I can likely that allows two devices to get the address IP of the correct VLAN?

• Tagged management VLAN and the virtual machines on the same VLAN

  I'm faced with a problem related to our Brocade switches newly acquired and get the private VLAN to work on trunk connections to our ESX servers.  Every time I try something different, he creates a new problem.

  In our configuration, our management of VLAN is not tag and we have a VLAN for this management network that is placed on our switches VLAN no marked native.  We also have virtual machines hosted on those same ESX servers that are on the same VLAN and everything works fine.  However, when I change the ESX management to carry a label on this VLAN and change the switchports accordingly (IE no untagged VLAN native), management work, but hosted on the ESX Server machines that are on the same VLAN can get no network connectivity.

  Is it possible to have a management network labeled and also the host of virtual machines on the same VLAN or is it totally impossible?  I'm not very familiar with networking behind ESX, so I apologize if this is a dumb question with an obvious answer.

  Yes, it is possible... why it doesn't work for you I don't know, but try the following:

  1. set up the Group of ports of VMS to use VLAN;

  2 configure the interface of management VMkernel port group use VLAN;

  3 configure the physical switch port to allow to this VLAN and put the default VLAN natively for these interfaces.

• Business rules endangered in Calc Manager

  I have a planning application classic on 11.1.2.1 crossing calc Manager business rules, but just the other day I logged in i could no longer see in calc business rules manager when I go to the database. The rules still run and are visible in other places as the head of corporate security rule but not in calc Manager. I tried to restart the Manager of calc, reconfiguration weblogic, creating new rules (that actually works but the old is still invisible). I've migrated on the environment from another environment, without success. Any idea what could be the problem?

  Hi, have you migrated rules if Appication group-> Foundation-> Manager calculation way of LCM? Or just the rules with your application. It looks like the second, but this is not enough, that you must use the first one too.

• ThinkScribe TransNote problem

  I just got a TransNote (2675-61U) off ebay, I have almost finished setting up Windows XP Tablet PC 2005, my last problem is to get the ThinkScribe to work. I installed the IBM web page v1.5 Cross ink Manager '. I can't understand how to import ink, as a first step, that the small LCD on the ThinkScribe was giving me an error that looked like the low-memory error, but had only the lines on the left side. Shortly there after I found the reset button on the ThinkScribe and has used. Now the small LCD displays a number '01' with the hourglass in the top right, no other light is lit all over the ThinkScribe and can't do their affected at all, only with a reset, and then it just goes back to the State of priviase. I installed ink transfer configured for Com2 at 115200 baud. The Pen Contact light above blinked several times before I reset it the first time, but will be no more, that I have applied the fix Com model. I am irritable minerly then I can provide any other information, as requested. I have no documentation in analog mode and no record. I was not able to find Manager inks v1.0 anywhere, I'm not sure if it's an incompatibility with the v1.5 software or not.

  I just wanted to say that I understand the problem, it was a software incompatibility or something seemlier, the ThinkScribe when the wrong software is installed on the ThinkScribe screen is a little washed out and has a perpetual hourglass and the number 1, when the v1.0 software is installed the ThinkScribe comes to life after a reboot.   Fortunately GMail accounts integrate very well into native management bis email, so you should still be able to use your GMail account on your device 9320.

• Cloning by vCenter

  We have two clusters ESXi4.1 vSphere (production, development) that are on networks physically separated due to our policy of corporate security.  Our vCenter 4.1 server resides on the network of producation, but has a second NETWORK adapter with a network drop in development network to manage the development pole.

  He asked for clone production virtual machines for the pole of development, but it seems requires the production cluster have connectivity to the network development which we do not want to do.  We wonder if we can exploit our vCenter server, which was authorized to have connectivity to two networks.   We cannot close the vCenter server to a router for all traffic between networks, but vCenter natively manage the part of data transfer from the cloning process? If this isn't the case, someone has another simple method to clone virtual machines between clusters phsically proprietary networks?

  Do you use a shared storage. In this case, you should consider to the update (s) LUN to your hosts the production (s) to do the cloning. This way you don't need to open access to the network from the network of development.

  Like the other poster it can indeed during installation - you have the option to set the vlan - is your host is already installed and you want to add post install that you can do this using the command from the command line esxcfg-vswif or use the vSphere client and edit it in the configuration tab of the networking of the esx host.

• VIX 1.6.2 and ESXi 3.5.0: connection drops for no apparent reason

  I used vix to drive a virtual machine hosted by workstation, but I update this code (c#), to drive a virtual machine hosted by ESXi.

  I have a lot of problems with the connection to the abandonment. I set up a ping t on ESXi box and on the virtual machine I want to drive, and that shows a consistent link. However, I find the following:

  • If I call Connect successfully and then add a call to Open, on a regular basis, the call will fail with VIX_E_HOST_NOT_CONNECTED. I put the Connect and Open calls in a loop to try again with a break of 20 seconds between each attempt. After 3 or 4 attempts it usually connects.

  • If my program does a job without talking to the VM for about a minute, the connection drops usually such that if I try to call RunProgramInGuest after use the Vix api for a minute, it fails with "not connected". I put in a call to try again 'connection' before running a program on the virtual machine. Failure, I run the connection and open the loop to try one more time and then question the RunProgramInGuest call, I wanted to once again and it works.

  • However, I'm stuck, if I call RunProgramInGuest and then wait on the handle of the job, he is generally ok unless in the guest takes more than a minute or so to run. In this case returns never wait and the program is blocked.

  Anyone who knows the connection drop like that? What solution did you use to solve the final problem. I considered trying to exceed a reminder in, but the wait is failing, I expect that a reminder be never called back either. The other option I'm considering is that every time I call RunProgramInGuest, I actually run a script on the computer virtual who runs the program, then writes a file. So I can query reconnect, reopen and reconsignation-in in a loop to try again, and a quick turnaround program that looks like the existence of the file that tells me the program finished. It sounds crazy, so I hope that there are better suggestions!
