Types of Windows 7.0 Professional licenses

I am considering Professional 7.0, but as the various licenses confuse me, here's what I would like to search for:

1. License/User (me)

A clean install

The operating system has never been installed on this computer; It is not an upgrade; It is not a recovery, restoration or repair of anything; and it has no relationship to any existing/front Windows OS.

The license can be OEM, but the content/features must be equivalent to a full Version of the operating system.

The drive I install it may or may not be believed and unformatted.

If the license I buy has to be downloaded, the master-word/term ID is _____.

If the license I buy is shipped to me on a CD/DVD, the master-word/term ID is _____.

If the license I buy is shipped on a CD/DVD with a manual/User Guide, for me the key word/term ID is _.

If there are special versions of "System Builder" for those of us who build our own computers, please advise.

Thank you

Because Windows 7 is in limited stock because Microsoft ended sales in October 2013, this created demand due to its rarity. This means the retail boxed copies request a bonus, while the OEM System Builder copies remain affordable.

Full version (retail):

-Includes the rights of transfer to another computer.

-Does not require a qualifying earlier version of Windows.

-Expensive

Upgrade version (detail):

-Includes the rights of transfer to another computer.

-require a qualifying earlier version of Windows.

-Expensive, but less expensive full version

OEM System Builder version:

The OEM of Windows 7 versions are identical to the versions commercial full license with the following exception:

-OEM versions don't offer any free direct support from Microsoft technical support Microsoft

-OEM Licenses are tied to the computer first you install and activate it on

-OEM versions allow all hardware upgrades except for an upgrade to a different model motherboard

-OEM versions does not move directly from an older Windows operating system

There is nothing wrong to use it too, especially that all future versions of Windows will be full versions.

  • Upgrade to Windows 8.1 Professional

I just ordered a XPS 15 Touch, which has 8.1 Windows 64 - bit English.  I want to upgrade the machine to Windows 8.1 Professional 64 - bit English.  I need to know how to upgrade proeprly.  I have a few questions:

The upgrade is a safe thing to do?

Should I get the upgrade or get a Dell technician to do the upgrade?  What do you recommend?

If I do upgrade myself and you are having problems, can I speak?  Dell or Microsoft?

The upgrade affects my extended warranty?

The upgrade is fairly simple and fast, requiring only a reboot.

Click on start and type "anytime upgrade".  What you need to do is enter your Pro license key, wait a few minutes, then restart.

It will NOT affect your warranty or existing data.

  • Activation of Windows XP, says my license key (directly at the exit of the COA sticker on the back of the machine) is not valid.

I reinstall Windows XP on a Compaq owned since 2002.   I used the Operating System CD Compaq accompanying to created a slipstreamed XP SP3 CD.  Installation past large, reading product key - it just behind the back if little hologram sticker certificate of Authenticity on the back of the machine that has been there for the past 11 years.  Microsoft says that my license is not valid.  Searched and searched found this MGADiag tool, here are the results.

  • Windows 7 Home Basic license number

I sold a computer to a friend of mine, I bought with Windows 7 Home Basic Edition.

Not long after I sold the computer, the USB ports on the main panel blew and I sent him to have the motherboard replaced (under warranty) to the supplier (Pinnacle Micro) which replaced the motherboard and I brought a friend.

Since the Lady does not use the computer often I only learned later that the machine now has the following license number:

    Hello

Compress and decompress are not a separate tool/utility to download and install in the computer. They have functions that come with these 3 operating systems. These features are available in Windows XP/Vista/7 from across operating systems.

However, you can also use your favorite search engine for non-Microsoft applications to compress and extract files such as Winzip and Winrar.

Note: The use of third-party software, including hardware drivers can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the use of third-party software can be solved. Software using third party is at your own risk.

    It will be useful.

Your Windows XP question is more complex than what is generally answered in the Microsoft Answers forums. It is better suited for IIS users on their official forums.

  • DOUBLE OS ►Windows 7.0 Professional (retail) + XP Professional (retail)

I just bought Windows 7.0 Professional (retail) and also have Windows XP Professional (also retail).

I realize there is an option 'XP Mode' 7.0, but what I would do is have the ability to access the OS.  I build my own computers but I have never installed two operating systems and need some advice on partitions, boot etc. options.  For example, is it possible that I can start in 7.0 and switch to XP without having to reboot?

I reached the minimum requirements (CPU = 2.9 GHz, RAM = 6 GB) and the drive I'll install is a 80 GB Sata.

Is my Windows my product key license? Also, if I want to download the iso of Windows 7 yes I need to buy a license/product key of Windows 7? Or my Windows 10 will work?

Your license is the product key.

You don't need to buy a license if you already have a product key.

Step 1: Download a copy of Windows 7:

For 5 years, Microsoft made it fairly easy for users of the Windows 7 operating system to get reinstall media. If you have lost your support disc or installation retail collection; either it has been damaged or defective; You can download a copy of the edition that you have licensed from a membership site called Digital River. More recently, Microsoft ended the availability to reinstall media that you can download as a. File ISO in Digital River, which is a digital reproduction of an optical disc.

It was particularly convenient for people who could not easily get the manufacturer's recovery media, did not want to pay the fees required to get or preferred a clean configuration without the software packaged manufacturers or even a recovery partition does not work. It's easy to use, all you had to do was reinstall and reactivate using the product key located on the certificate of authenticity and download all the drivers on the manufacturers website.

Given that this option is no longer available, what are your options? See the article for more details:

How to: What are my options for Windows 7 reinstall media?

Make sure you scroll down and read the section:

What to do if you cannot get your manufacturer recovery media, refuse to use or to buy it or the Microsoft Software Recovery Website does not work?

Step 2: Perform a custom installation, see Windows 7 section of the following article how to perform a custom installation:

  • How to handle file types in Windows 7

In XP, we can go to the Control Panel-> Folder Options-> File Types , choose an extension, and then chooseAdvanced and generally see a list of actions associated with the file type. You can change the default action or change action to modify the program / the command used for this action.

I was not able to find a similar to Windows 7 installation. I do not know thePanel-> default programs where we can change the association primary program for a file type, but it does not provide the list of actions.

The described installation exist in Windows 7?
