U2713HM replacement policy

I bought a new Dell U2713HM monitor on October 23, 2014. He has a dead light in the center of the screen pixel, I called Dell in Slovenia hotline today (November 3, 2014) and they told me I have the right to replace my defective monitor. My question is this:
Can I get a new or (as has been said by a guy on the Slovenian Dell phone support) do one handed to nine?

He told me that it is within 8 days of purchase to get a new, after that he has renovated one. I was reading on the Dell site it is 30 days. Differs from this policy in Slovenia or they were just trying to get rid of me with a refurbished?

Dell policy may vary depending on the region. Here in the US, if the trade request is made within 30 days of the date of invoice from Dell, it will be a new Exchange.

    I forgot that I had to protect my BIOS Setup with a supervisor password. If, at the time of startup, press F1, then you must the press ESC to turn off the fingerprints and, the icon of power, you will need to enter your supervisor password. I did a security chip reset and reinstalled the latest version of ThinkVantage Client Security Solution. Now Power On just me one finger to the entire boorprocess until I can work with Windows XP.

    When I replace my old hdd (hard drive) again one on the support site... engineer on site will take my old hdd? is it necessary or any policy back from the old hdd can only get nine... or I have to keep my old hdd with myself...

    Yes, they will make you return the old drive to get a new, so HP can get any credit machine hard drive (as applicable). Otherwise how do they know that the old is really bad? This is true of every computer manufacturer.

  • Warranty: Replacement policy

    Hey guys,.

    Short version: Battery is broken. Need a new. Will not give access to my laptop somehow. What should do?

    Long version:

    A few days ago, the battery 6 cells (model: 45N1023) of my ThinkPad X 230 (model: 2325CN3) has fallen to about 50 percent capacity. Today, it is about 45% (which means that if the battery is charged to 100%, it will only last 45% of the time he did when it was new). The device is November 2012, so I am still in the battery warranty 1 year and I would like to get a replacement.

    I called technical support this morning and (after 15 minutes in the queue) they told me that the only way to get a spare battery is if I allow them to access my system remotely to solve the problem. The only other option would be to bring the product to a partner to guarantee and give them all my passwords so that they can solve the problems there.

    I think that this policy is very professional, unnecessarily long and not acceptable at all for the following reasons.

    1. I do not use Windows, but Linux as operating system. I told the tech support on the phone. She told me that the battery replacement can be done only if the image of 'origin' is used (not sure what lie she by this, I think with image it refers to the operating system - a ridiculous statement anyway). I told her that I bought the laptop without a pre-installed system, it confuses not bad.
    2. I am very sensitive to my data and I sure as hell does not have remote access to a person who is obviously not even able to understand that I do not use Windows (it probably wouldn't work with Linux in all cases).
    3. Also, for the same reason, I not give my password and put my laptop. It is obviously not a software problem, then why can't I just send only the battery and get a replacement by mail? If absolutely necessary, I would be ready to send in the laptop, but without it's hard drives (the technician told me that it is not an option, but she refused to explain why). Since I use mSATA, which is difficult to remove, I would avoid it.

    I'm pretty sure that Lenovo is legally obliged to give me a spare battery, even if I don't get back access to my laptop. I understand that the system using the troubleshooting battery makes it easier for support staff, but is not accetable to me at all. I chose Lenovo on Apple because I felt that Lenovo is more professional and respect the privacy of the client. Instead, I have to jump through hoops like that while Apple is to provide spares and candy free without delay.

    Someone at - it similar experiences?

    Hello. I had a laptop computer with a HARD drive 320, which became faulty (not totally, in fact) within 2 weeks of purchase. I turned it a HP service center and they got it replaced with a new job. Now everything works fine ATM, however I have noticed that my current HARD drive is a Western Digital while I remember that I had before the failure was a one Seagate. Now, I have a question about the HP replacement policy: is it possible to get another brand of HARD drive altogether in lieu of one that was part of the original shipment or should I have obtained one of the same company (Seagate) otherwise the same exact model of the HARD drive as a replacement?

    They replace it by what they have there at the time, any policy on this.

    This is a forum to a user, no employee of HP here, with the exception of the moderators of the forum.

    WD is currently better than Seagate in my opinion.

    I bought a Lenovo T440p in 2014 and last week my drive reports bad sectors HARD early. I took it out and replaced with an SSD.

    I wanted to send the HARD drive for a replacement under warranty to one of the Lenovo official distributors here in Slovenia, however, they told me, I have to bring my laptop and the HARD drive. It is not sustainable for me, because they are 200 km, and they would probably like to keep my computer for 45 days (Warranty replacements are slow here).

    I bought a class ThinkPad business, because I wanted a stable system and guarantee fast and flexible service. According to the CRU replacement policy (https://support.lenovo.com/si/sl/documents/ht031627) T440p disk HARD can be replaced by the customer (https://support.lenovo.com/si/sl/documents/pd029304). I me maintenance computers back in the day, so it was an extra easy and quick repair.

    The point is - I need my computer every day to manage my business and I can't afford that she went for 45 days. However, I want to also only 500 GB HARD drive replaced, because it is under warranty. I'd like your opinion what to do in this case.

    I received a positive response from Marand d.o.o. I can send the HARD drive only on their spending, and they will send a new HARD drive once they determine that there really bad areas.

    I had an unpleasant experience with ITS interprofessional d.o.o. (LC Unistar) - they were rude, useless and they wanted to have all computer, send it by me.

    Add d.o.o., which is also on the list of service providers, does not service computers ThinkPad, it seems. But they were quite useful to send me a list of official service providers here in Slovenia (which is essentially the same as on https://support.lenovo.com/si/sl/documents/ht100529).

    So, Marand d.o.o. has themsleves a new customer.

    You don't talk to Apple. This is a user forum.

    The warranty is 1 year. IF 2 years, you bought AppleCare + for the device.

    Whatever it is, you can get served, in or out of warranty, to the United States.

    If you are not in the United States, you can not ship Apple in the United States for the service. You will physically need to consider Apple in the United States or send someone to the United States and ask them to take in a service for you.

  • New disk recovery is required for my Equium A100-338

    I've had my laptop for a good few years now and I need to use the recovery disc, the problem is that the disc is scratched to hell and Toshiba say I must pay £29.99 for a replacement disk, which is a little steep.

    My question is Toshiba has a replacement policy of the disks scratched if it isn't that how all the drivers and pre-installed software back, I have no problem with the help of my parents vista install DVD that is available for 3 machines, but I want all software and stuff that is loaded on the recovery disk.

    Any ideas on how I can do this

    When you buy Toshiba laptop (old model), you will get a disk to restore DVD facilities.
    If this disk is destroyed and cannot be used you can get a new one, but is not free.

    So, you have the choice of ordering a new or install a clean operating system.
    Recovery image recorded on recovery facilities disc contains following software:
    -Operating system
    -All drivers
    -Utilities and specific tools Toshiba
    -Some other software such as a DVD player or application antivirus (trial version)

    In my opinion, you should install own OS. All the drivers, Toshiba tools and utilities that you can download from the Toshiba support page - http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com

    It is quite the same as on the recovery image. DVD player is not important, and you can download free very good VLC player. As an antivirus application I recommend Avira antivir.

  • HP Pavilion 15-n241ca TouchSmart laptop touch does not

    I got this laptop a few months there are source in Alberta in the Canada. Worked well for a week or two and then the touchscreen began to stop working intermittently.

    Once or twice, it seemed that permits to clean the screen (not salty) but no more.

    It has just stopped working completely during the last month or so.

    I tried the cleanser to windows on a towel and a microfibre cloth... completely to edges and nothing.

    I ran all the troubleshooters, updates of pilot... everything is up to date and working correctly or what they say.

    But... I went to the conversation in support of the site and spoke to a representative of HP service. It to distance a diagnosis and tried to get touchscreen operational mmy, but nothing would work. Finish by wiping off my machine and try from scratch. Still nothing.

    My computer will be picked up by UPS in a few days for a journey to the nearest service center. Obviously, I have hardware problems.

    So my computer is not working properly, BUT the HP customer service is safe.

    Everyone I spoke to there was just great and SO happy to help you. Looks like I'm being sarcastic, but I'm NOT. First day was Gio (sp?) and yesterday it was Cory I think was called the snowman.

    I'm in the Canada, they are in the Philippines.

    These guys were both so friendly and we chatted and laughed as we worked on my machine.

    They felt like old friends.

    Yesterday with Cory was hilarious.

    He asks a few questions... in his professional voice... I let him know that the system restore didn't help and after a few more questions, he asked my delivery address so that my laptop could be picked up.  I'm out to my mailing address and name of course... I tell him the city, then the province (Alberta) and dude BUSTS OUT a "CANADA!"  you're in CANADA! "YES! Yes, I'M in the Canada!

    You see, here at the Canada and especially in Alberta (80% of all NEW jobs in the Canada are created in ALBERTA) there is a SERIOUS labor shortage. We import many workers and MANY are Philipinos. Many are great friends of mine. I'm a musician and a BATCH of Philipinos (they are a bit like Mexican... somehow, MANY of them are GREAT singers. As I mean SCARY good singers... and I met and was good friends with a bunch of musicians Philipino back in the early/mid-90s called the boys of Manilla-Shout Out to Freddie and Oscar).  and so... I feel some sort of connection to the Philippines and it's people and of course, a lot of Philipinos like the Canada and Canadians.

    WHY the rave on the Philippines? Well Yes... I got a little roundabout, BUT... my POINT is that Westerners lament and complain of having to deal with Service Centers the company customer. Sometimes rightly so. You know, a lot of times you call to ask questions on an item and you talk to people in India (also have many Indian friends... This isn't a disparagement) or China or somewhere where they're TRYING to help, but the language barrier is hard to overcome. Warm up. On both ends of the line or the internet, people feel frustrated... you know how it goes.

    BUT... with HP and I talked to three different representatives of CS at LEAST, EVERYONE was VERY helpful. Everyone knew exactly what they were doing. We are patient. They were HAPPY. They spoke a PERFECT English.

    We were able to get my machine... my touch screen works again? Nope :-(

    My machine will work soon? I hope so. MAYBE... IF the service center, it goes to employs Philipino Tech lol.

    As I said Gio, it is the FIRST factory built, brand name of computer I bought in 10 years. My FIRST was an Emachines and it worked perfectly for YEARS. I just grew out of it. Since then, I've been buying little outfits or my own machines, I have pieced together.

    I'm SO happy that I chose an HP machine this time.

    I didn't even need to produce a receipt (I have and would have been able to). GIO remotely connected to my laptop and find all the information he needed.  There was a moment where I said something like... "oh no." Do you think maybe the Source a replacement policy or something? ' and Gio said... "Oh you don't have to worry about this. I see here that you have the complete warranty coverage (I did not purchase the extended warranty when I bought the laptop) until March of next year.

    Once again, my experience with the HP Customer Service has been phenomenal every time I called or chatted with them. GIO has made all diagnostic tests in the book. He uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers. There are troubleshooting performed. He has tried this and he tried. He gave me GREAT instructions. We did a full system restore.

    Once who has not fixed the problem they immediately sent me a box of UPS to take my computer back in. I didn't have to make a complaint or claim or ask or demand. Once the restore has failed THEIR next thing was to get my machine service.

    Between you and me I am hoping that there is something seriously wrong and maybe they'll send me a NEW notebook and maybe this will be the next model!  Yes Yes I know, wishful thinking. But hey... my sons iPod broke down a couple of years and Apple (which is CS was ALSO amazing... at least it was a few years ago) sent him a replacement. The NEXT generation of iPod!

    Samsung Note 2 my wife began to... Well do not receive calls. Samsung has it send to the nearest service center. It worked fine for one day and then started not to receive calls again. Samsung free (sort of) said... ok this time ONLY we'll send it to a center of service AGAIN.

    They did, and it dint work... again. Clearly, they were just a hard factory reset... which my wife had already tried a bunch of times. She has somewhat given up on Samsung and said... you know... I think I'll go back to Apple. Their CS was so much BETTER than Samsung.

    But the next day (like 2 weeks ago), she spoke at Telus, its supplier of cells and explained that his phone was not working and she was a loyal customer of Telus for decades. As his monthly bill (for 3 phones... mine, his and our son) are as close to $200 (Yes, we live in a remote location). She said that when its contracts are met it will be with another (cheaper) provider and another phone. BTW... all 3 of us currently have Samsung droid phones.

    Welllll... TELUS took the steering wheel and said... Don't worry me MAA.  There is no service in your town center so just return it to where you bought the note 2. We just called them and they are waiting for you. They are ready to replace your phone. Simply put the Note2 for a recovery.

    She goes to the store and they say... choose any phone again. It is on Telus.

    They did not have the S5 in stock, but she prefers larger notes, while she walked out with a brand new Samsung Note3 :-)

    The moral of this story which is nowadays that service most of the customer business is VERY GOOD. HP is NO exception.

    My HP hardware has a few problems, so I wouldn't be able to assess their products as EXCEPTIONAL, but their CS? It is MORE than EXCEPTIONAL.

    If YOU're in the market for a new computer, PLEASE if HP is in your line of sight. You are in GREAT hands with HP. I would recommend HP to EVERYONE.

    My computer does not work correctly. I'll be without even if he died (it would be NICE if they had a policy of loan but...) I hope that the turnaround time will be SHORT) but I hope that I will not be without TOO long and who knows... Perhaps they will have to replace my whole notebook and if they do, maybe they'll upgrade me for the next model. Wishful thinking again, I know, but anyway... I KNOW I'll have a good state of computer market again before too long.

    Thank you for your responses and suggestions. I think that this thread (without THIS long post) will be useful to many people who have problems with the touch screen in the future.  We'll just hope that "many people" will not be NEEDING help and usually HAVE problems with touch screen.

    After a day of use, I have a blue vertical line on the screen. Defective LCD screen? Tried to reapply the latest firmware, but that doesn't change anything. Other things to try before a sent an RMA?

    I dunno if Newegg "corresponds to" Amazon product replacement policy is defective products: Amazon will cover the shipping costs for the return (via a pre-paid return label he sends you) but also send a replacement free of charge.  You might want to check with Newegg, if your Clip has been purchased recently.

    Apart from Newegg, if you need to take advantage of the SanDisk warranty directly with her, SanDisk (at least in the United States) covers shipping as well as for the replacement that is sent back.

  • U + 0323 (nang) combining Dot

    Hi all

    I just downloaded the Arno Pro family policy.

    I try to use the nang (combining the point) with that font and difficulties. When I try to use the combination that is made for other fonts (IE. Times New Roman), he will be biased and I have to keep switching back. Tips or tricks on this.

    I use a Mac, in the case where that matters. Will work ideally in Word 2011 for Mac and importing to InDesign for page layout.

    Arno Pro does not support the combination point subscribed (U + 0323), characters, so whenever you try to use this character you will either get a backup/replacement policy or the .notdef glyph (vertical rectangle with an X inside).

    I developed an application of adf using jdeveloper 11g how weblogic 10.3.3.0 hosts.
    My adf application must connect to an external application for credit card validation.
    To do this, I use a HTTPURLConnection and passing the external address and attributes that must be written into it.

    I am currently totally distraught, I don't understand what measures should I take. Is this error due to keystore stuff?
    I even tried to replace policy files in jre according to some articles, but it still does not work.
    I have very limited knowledge of the security issues with weblogic, I really will appreciate if I can get all the links or any help in this matter.
