U2715H, Macbook Air, black bars

Hello

I bought a new U2715H yesterday. I use it with 3 Macs:
Mac Mini - mid-2010 (GPU: Nvidia GeForce 320 M)-works great
MacBook Pro 13 "Early 2015 retina (GPU: Intel Iris 6100)-works great
MacBook Air 11 '' mid 2011 (GPU: Intel HD Graphics 3000)-not so great work

So, for the problem:
All three computers on the same mini displayport to displayport cable and provide the same resolution on-screen (2560x1440@60, the optimal screen), which is also what reported by screen (the bottom menu line). BUT, for some reason, the Macbook Air is "boxed", there are black bars and the area of the image fills the screen. the bars are about 0.75 "in all directions. Spec Apple says that this resolution is supported on all three. What can be the problem? Why only the Macbook Air has black bars?

I'll appreciate any help here,
Kind regards
Lior

Clean install of Yosemite fixed the problem.

I'm pretty new to owning a mac.  I went to pick him up today on my mac and the screen was just a bar unique black thumbs on the left side.  Then the rest of the screen changed between white and colors scrambled and now it's pink with mixed green bars.  It changes each time I try to reboot.  The strange part is that when I connect to my TV it works on my TV.  I don't know what to do.

  • MacBook Air screen stuck on the circle with bar oblique?

I bought a MacBook Air on Friday last and just received in the mail today. I started up and followed all the prompts that he gave me. He then went to a screen that says "set up your Mac", and it was on this screen for hours then I looked at how to fix it. I found an article that said hold down the CTRL + SHIFT + option, press the power button, then release all buttons. I did this and then restarted my laptop. It made the normal chime, then shows the apple with a loading bar logo under it (as when you update software), then it goes to a screen with a circle that has a slash through it. The cursor does not appear and it does nothing. I don't know what I've done for her, but no matter who else has experienced this problem and found a resolution?

We are aware of this problem and should have it fixed in the next generation of edge Code. The solution is to move your dock from the bottom to the side. Sorry about that.

    Hope this helps,

  • MacBook Air mid 2012 - SSD failure but now normal work?

I have a macbook air mid-2012, it worked very well but had no veen used for about 2 months. I had installed osx el capitan and the car was completely empty except for the new facility. I start the computer normally, but after I tried to launch safari, computer froze and the screen went black, but the mouse was still there. I turn off the cpu using the power button, but when I rebooted I had the flashing icon. I tried to boot into recovery mode, wouldn't work not and went straight to the restoration of the internet. Using the internet recovery mode I tried to go and repair the hard drive, but it was not visible, I tried to install a new copy of Mac OS x, but it wasn't visible to install with HDD. I took the macbook air to an authorized repair center and the macbook started showing a circle with a bar slash through it like a Tux no sign, no flashing icon of the folder. They ran diagnostics and told that the DSS did not. The price of replacemwnt was more that the laptop was worth (almost $700)

I went home upset, but now this morning I correct start-up of the laptop and he gave me a sign of Apple with a gray loading bar theb started normal. I weaves in disk utility to perform the audit of diagnosis on the ssd and it came back as everything was ok.

What could happen? Why it quit working but now work ok? I need to give this phone a friend for a gift but cannot do so if the ssd will soon Miss. Should I jist cough a little money and get a replacement hard drive and install it myself because this ssd is going bad? Its a 256 GB ssd and it kills me...

    Thank you!

It's only a guess, but there may be a connection that is defective and sometimes disconnect the SSD drive.

    Ciao.

  • Hinge MacBook Air moving

My early 2015, 13 "MacBook Air hinge / black plastic to the bottom of the screen line moves freely for a good millimetre. is that what I should be concerned or is this something that happens with all mac models? Please tell me if this is normal or not as soon as possible

I have the same with my retina 15 ". I don't think it's embarrassing, but if you feel different about it, take it to the genius bar and see what they think about it.

  • MacBook Air crashes trying to finish the last day ox or restart.

I am filling beef BOF Eli Capitan was last updated. My MacBook Air has been sitting all night by train to restart after downloading the update. White screen and black progress bar - apple logo stops after 70% and accidents. Back at 50% and crashes again at 70%.

I saved before downloading, but I am always reluctant from the backup that I don't know what is blocking the update and will have to undertake this beef update later.

Any ideas what could be the problem.

    John

I can't get my MacBook Air to restart after downloading the last update of El Capitan.

  • Broken space on MacBook Air

I have a MacBook Air, I tried to clean below the space bar. I think I broke it because when I put back it together it is incredibly hard to push and I need to move so he could push. How can I fix? I just need to get a new keyboard?

Make an appointment at the Genius Bar in Apple for the service. If you need a Apple Store - find a store - Apple.

  • MacBook Air shutdown correctly

I have a Macbook Air (13 inch, early 2015) race Sierra.

When I shut down my computer it powers not normally turned off. I click on "Stop" in the Apple menu. The screen goes black but the backlight remains lit and lighting under the keyboard. It stays like that for more than 20 minutes before apparently power off.

The only way I can get to close normally, if I hold the power for 10 seconds. But this isn't the normal way and it comes up with a message the next time that I boot saying that it was not shut down properly.

I upgraded to El Capitan in Sierra during the last day, but it made no difference. The problem is ongoing for about 2 weeks. I've owned the laptop since new about 1 year ago and it has worked flawlessly until now.

The problem occurs regardless of whether the computer is powered or battery-operated. I have not modified the computer or used new material, given that the problem occurred.

    Any help would be appreciated

OK so I managed to solve this problem, based on useful information in another thread (macOS Sierra presents a serious problem that must be treated quickly)

The problem is that if you have MySQL running on startup, Sierra cannot stop, probably because he is unable to stop MySQL or processes that are running.

The way to fix this is to go to preferences > MySQL. Uncheck the option that runs MySQL to start automatically. You can also manually stop the process in your current session, but when I tried my Macbook froze.

Restart your Mac. Next time you stop, it should work normally.

It seems to be a serious problem between Sierra and MySQL here. You should not stop/start MySQL manually; and it will be extremely painful for developers like me who use MySQL on a daily basis. Apple - and if necessary Oracle - should work on dealing with this together.

  • COKE ON MACBOOK AIR

HELPPPPP. I spilled coke on my macbook air and immediately handed and dry. Then I took out the keys cleaned with alcohol and water and cleaned as much as I could and put it on a fan at night now its don't turn only not on helppppppp. HOW MUCH WILL THIS COST. I'm only 12! It's really bad, and I need answers NOW. HOW TO FIX IT.

I think that you can't fix it by yourself. You would better make Genius Bar appointment and tell them about coke spilled on the MacBook Air.

They will tell you any cost to fix.

  • MacBook air does not work without AC adapter

    Hello!

My MacBook Air 13 (mid. 2012) OS X El Capitan 10.11.6 suddenly today off with 62%, when I tried to turn it on, it started to load (grey screen with apple and the line underneath) and off to the new environment. Now this only works with the charger. I tried to reset the SMC, but it did not help. Can someone help me?

Maybe your battery has gone bad?  What does say when you click on the battery icon in the menu bar? And what does say under "Battery information" If you: option-click on the icon of the Apple menu, select system information and select 'Power' in the navigation left thingy?
