The filesystem (vmhgfs module) driver is used only for the shared folder

feature. The rest of the software provided by VMware Tools is designed to work

    regardless of this function.

If you want the shared folders feature, you can install the driver of

running vmware-config - tools.pl once after being assured that gcc, binutils, make

and your kernel sources are installed on your computer.

These packages are available on the installation of your distribution CD.

My current version of FF is: 3.6.17/1.0 for Ubuntu.

If you have the binary file, then you just extract it in / opt, however, you can add repositories of package which is the cleanest most built-in way to do. • Ubuntu LTS 14.04 VMW 11 - network only works correctly if used DHCP on bridged network mode

    Hi people,

I am pretty new to Linux things, so I installed an Ubuntu LTS 14.04 as a LAMP on VMW 11 server.

The networksettings VM are bridged, so I should be able to access the virtual machine as a normal member of my network:

    0_virtualmachinesettings.JPG

Here are the settings when I activated the DHCP and as you can see, the server has no problem to connect to internet. The name is resolved properly and all is well.

    1_dhcp.JPG2_ifconfig.JPG

Everything here is the opposite, static ip and no connection. But with the exception of la.130 who changed a.201 everything is identical, but nothing works. Even the host no longer be resolved...

    3_static.JPG4_ifconfig_static.JPG

I hope you can help me with my problems, I have no idea what's wrong with my settings.

    Thank you!

I don't always have an idea what has caused all this does not work with cette.201.

I've set up another address and now everything works fine.

  • Problems of TCP connection on ubuntu after conversion of vmware

    Hello

We had an old vmware on a 2008 Server, it has 3 virtual machines.  The one I installed and two that were installed before that I'm here.
We converted these a few weeks ago to esxi 5.0.

Since then, we seem to have some problems on two of the vm three ubuntu (that I installed works correctly).

Network is in place and I have a constant ping and to machine.207 (the one who has problems). That's the problem: unstable tcp connections.  When you try to ssh it he falls just the connection, second time works sometimes.  When you work in the ssh session you are disconnected at random.

    What I've done so far:
-updated all the latest 12,04 LTS ubuntu
    -disabled ipv6
-active routing sur.207-> just has a default route to our firewall, routing is not the issue as this happens locally.
    -checked arp = ok
-restarted machine-> the problem is the same

Now I've installed wireshark, and this is what happens when it fails:
    I see my machine (. 100) a.207 - > 335 19.989077000 192.168.0.100 192.168.0.207 TCP 54 59763 > ssh [ACK] Seq = 1 Ack = 1 win = 65536 Len = 0

I have no idea why I get a reset.  I'm in the dark

    Hi PiT9000,

Have you checked the duplicate MAC addresses?  Maybe the old Server 2008 may still run the same VMs filled to the same network...?

    See you soon,.

  • VMWare Workstation 12 and 18 of Linux Mint (Ubuntu 16.04) and vmware tools or open-vmware-tools

I created a new virtual machine using VMWare Workstation 12.1.1 build-3770994 with a guest OS from Linux Mint 18 (which is built on top of Ubuntu 16.04). I have two monitors on my system, the two 2560 x 1440. I am unable to get this virtual machine Linux Mint 18 to cover all of my two monitors when I disable "Accelerate 3D graphics" in my vm settings, I get an error. I have another Linux Mint 17 VM running on the same VMWare Workstation 12 on the same host machine from Windows 10 and it is able to expand on my two monitors very well with "Accelerate 3D graphics" disabled, but he does not open-vmware-tools.

I have read instructions telling me to install open-vm-Tools-Office in this guest operating system of Linux Mint 18. I did it. Then I restart the guest operating system. When starting, I can click on 'Enter full screen mode' in my menu of VMWare Workstation, and the guest OS has a monitor as expected. When I then click on "Cycle multiple monitors", I get the following error. "The virtual machine could not be changed to the selected screen layout. If you add a monitor to the host computer, you must turn off and turn on the virtual machine to use this monitor. »

    vmware-monitors-error.jpg

I can optimize my VM to automatic adjustment, only one of my two screens, but not both. I tried to uninstall and reinstall open-vm-tools, open-vm-tools-desktop and restart. I tried to use /vmware-tools-distrib/vmware-install.pl's original vmware tools and who does not work either.

In my vmware.log, I get these two lines that occur when I get the above error.

    2016 07-12 T 15: 43:19.068 - 06:00 | MKS | I125: ToolsSetDisplayTopology: send rpcMsg = 1 DisplayTopology_Set, 0 0 2560 1440

    2016 07-12 T 15: 43:24.853 - 06:00 | vCPU-1 | I125: TOOLS of the call to DisplayTopology_Set failed.

When I activate "Accelerate 3D graphics" with the configuration described above, I am able to use both of my monitors. Why is this the case?

I think remember having to disable "Accelerate 3D graphics" in my Linux Mint 17 comments vm because it would crash randomly. I try to run this VM Linux Mint 18 with 3D acceleration and see if it crashes, but why is there a difference with spanning multiple monitors?

    Thank you.

I didn't experience this problem for a few weeks. I don't have a definitive answer to my original problem.

I installed Mate instead of cinnamon 3 to my MINT 18. Then, I created a new VM with Ubuntu Gnome 3 16.04 running as the OF. I did have problems with both approaches. I also tried using Firefox as my main browser instead of Chrome, as I read that Chrome can have problems of memory. It could be a combination of several of these changes that have allowed me to work without problems.

Knowing what I know now, I think the move away from cinnamon 3 is what seems to have fixed my problems. I can certainly say that you use Firefox consumes less memory, as I can monitor the monitor system under Ubuntu. Chrome would eventually eat all my system memory, that I could see. The extent of the why? I'm not sure at this point.

  • Running Win7/64, WinXP Pro/32 and Ubuntu 9/64 in VMWare

I have a scanner Canon Canoscan 3200f requiring drivers for it to run. Win7/64 will not work with 32-bit drivers and when I tried to use the Microsoft Virtual PC and XP mode, it still leaves not the drivers install. What I've read, Canon, Epson and HP not fix ALL the 32-bit drivers on 64-bit (and how long it has been since XP Pro/64 came out?).

My PC is based on a mobo Gigabyte running an AMD Athlon 64 X 2 5400 + Black Edition CPU and 4 GB of RAM.

VMWare will allow material that requires and has only 32-bit drivers to install and operate? I want to run Win7 Pro, XP Pro and Ubuntu 9, the last so I can try to support my daughter recently built PC Ubuntu. Right now I'm trying to decide between VMWare Server, Virtual Box and 3 partitions on a 500 GB SATA drive.

    Thank you.

Since the host operating system that is running Server 2.x has no need for drivers, you should be able to have a 64-bit OS host (note that no office of operating systems are officially supported as guest operating systems and he attended problems reported with guests from Vista x 64 stuck at 95% at the start and it was not a version 2.x Server since Win7 is around) and then a 32 bits comments which, as long as it has a USB inside virtual adapter, should access the device to USB host ok. I use the word "should", because not all USB devices work - those who fail are usually those whose data rates are too fast for VMware to manage. Worth a search around to see if there are any reports of good or bad for specific devices.

The best way to solve the problem is to upgrade to 14.04.2 or 14.04.3 - it worked for me

I note repeated mention of mobile in your chart. However, I don't see the changes to preferences that may be involved in this. I use Ubuntu 16.04, but very probably part of this problem is hardware related.

    Is the site

I guess it is worth trying once signed on the modification of the URL in the bar to remove the /online/digital/mobile-banking.html or else address Firefox. (I don't know what the actual URL is that you will see)

A most obvious potential solution is to clear the cache and Cookies for the site.

TAKE CARE alone do this whist you are trying to view information only not allowing transactions. Clear cookies sign almost certainly will sign if you are connected. So try initially while not connected, but you need to be connected to clear all cookies. Only all trying a day when you need to do something important, because you might temporarily lose access to the Bank's website and for example need your password reset.

Have you tried another browser like chrome? If it works ok it proves that it is a matter of Firefox.
