Unable to access most of the programs

I had a problem where I can not enter the majority of programs on my desktop.  So far, the only way to get back them is to reinstall them.  I'm looking to determine what happened and fix it without having to reinstall the.

Hello rln126,

If you have run antivirus or malware scan on your computer? Programs should not disappear from your hard disk without intervention on your part.
Even if you have run an antivirus scan, you can try others to see if they will catch something that has not been taken by another antivirus.

You can download and install Microsoft Security Essentials to see if it finds any virus infection.
Click here to download the free Microsoft Security Essentials.

You can also use the Microsoft One Care Safety Scanner
http://OneCare.live.com/site/en-us/default.htm

Please answer back with an update and we will try to help others.

Thank you

Firefox running on the latest version of Fedora, after a few minutes of use, Firefox becomes unable to access many Web sites. It seems to be limited to the Web sites I visit frequently, but it is difficult to say. It affects all sites, however. It also affects the same sites every time. Restart the browser fixes it, and that it will often resolve itself given sufficient time, also.

I tried to clear my history and cookies, reset the browser and navigation without any active modules, but nothing seems to have an effect.

  • Unable to access most of the WVC80N sites on the internet

I installed the WVC80N on my home network. Of the House, I can access the video camera using the URL standard xxxx.mylinksyscam.com:1024. However when I'm in my workplace firewall, I can't connect using this URL. At work, I have no difficulties to view several video like Yahoo, YouTube and sites of standard media. When I saw that I couldn't connect, I took the same laptop at a public library and was able to connect to the URL xxxs.mylinksyscam. However, others said that they cannot connect their own systems of the House to my linksys URL.
I guess my corporate workplace and most other places 1024 to block the port of the public library is less restrictive. I would like to change my port to one that is no longer available to most of the places. My optical fiber router and modem are combined in one device Verizion FIOS M1424WR. I might add a few transfer for the two 1024-80. If I also disable my Alternate access Web Port option to use port 80. Port 80 would have a better chance to be accessible in a standard firewall of the company location?

I solved my problem. It's easy to fix. All I had to do was Add Port 80 for the transfer rules in my verizon FIOS router.
    Thank you.

  • Error: System cannot find the path specified during the installation of most of the programs of the C drive

I can't install most of the system disk c.It programs always show me "system cannot find the path specified." But, when I copy it to a disk D it starts installing. Most of the programs is not installed properly, because it seems that they cannot access some areas on the system drive. I tried already to check drive C for errors. It did not help. »

I solved my problem. It seems that Windows 7 creates additonal 100 MB partition with the system partition. When I reinstall Windows 7 I formatted the C drive but not the extra partition and perhaps this conflict has caused. I installed the system again but I have two of these drives formatted and it works normally again. Thanks anyway.

    Thank you!

You may have installed one or more variants of the malware "VSearch' ad-injection. Please backup all data, and then follow the instructions from Apple Support to remove it.

If you have problems with these instructions, or if they do not work, see below.

Malware is constantly evolving to work around defenses against it. This procedure works now, I know. It will not work in the future. Anyone finding this comment a couple of days or more after it was published should look for a more recent discussion, or start a new one.

VSearch malware tries to hide by varying names of the files it installs. To remove it, you must first identify the naming model.

1 triple - click on the line below on this page to select, then copy the text to the Clipboard by pressing Control-C key combination:

    /Library/LaunchDaemons

    In the Finder, select

Go ▹ go to the folder...

from the menu bar and paste it into the box that opens by pressing command + V. You won't see what you pasted a newline being included. Press return.

A folder named "LaunchDaemons" can open. Search inside the two files with the names of these forms:

    com.something.daemon.plist

    com.something.Helper.plist

    com.something .net - preferences.plist

    com.something.Preferences.plist

Here, something is a variable character string, that may be different in each VSearch infection. So far it has always been an alphanumeric string without punctuation signs, such as the 'cloud', 'point,' 'Highway', 'underwater', or 'trusteddownloads.' Sometimes, it's an empty string like 'e8dec5ae7fc75c28' instead of a Word. Sometimes, the string is "Apple", and then you must be particularly careful not to delete the wrong files, because many built-in OS X files have similar names.

You may have more than one copy of the malware, with different values of something.

There may be one or more files with the name of this form:

    com.somethingUpd.plist

where something may be a different meaning empty string in other files. Yet once, there may be more than one file of this type, with different values of something.

Here's a specific example of an infection VSearch:

    com.disbalance.daemon.plist

    com.disbalance.Helper.plist

    com.thunderbearerUpd.plist

You will have files with similar names, but probably not identical to these.

    2. If you find such files, let the open LaunchDaemons folder and open the file following the same way:

    /Library/LaunchAgents

In this case, there may be a file named

    com.something.agent.plist

where the channel something is the same as before.

If you feel confident that you have identified the above files, back up all data, and then drag the files - nothing - to the trash only. You may be prompted for administrator login password. Close the Finder Windows, and then restart the computer.

Do not delete the folder 'LaunchAgents' or 'LaunchDaemons' or anything else inside either.

3 reset the home page in each of your browsers, if it has been modified. In Safari, first load the desired home page, then select

    ▹ Safari preferences... ▹ General

    and click on

    Set on the current Page

The malware is now permanently inactivated, as long as you reinstall it never. You can stop here if you want, or you can delete the other two components for completeness.

    4. This step is optional. Open this folder:

    /Library

It may have subfolders that are named as follows

    something

    somethingUpd

where something is one of the channels that you have seen before. Drag all these subfolders to the trash, and then close the window.

Do not delete the folder "Library" or anything else inside.

    5. This step does not apply to the OS X 10.11 ("El Capitan") or later and it is optional if you are using an older version of Mac OS X.

    In this folder:

    /System/Library/Frameworks

There may be an element named exactly

    v.Framework

    either a named item

    Something.Framework

Again, something is the same string as before.

This item is actually a file, although it has a different icon than usual. Drag it to the trash, and then close the window.

Do not delete the folder "Frames" or anything else inside.

    6. If you do not find the files or you are not sure about the identification, after what you have found.

If in doubt, or if you have no backups, change nothing at all.

    7. the penalty may have started when you have downloaded and run an application called "MPlayerX." It is the name of a legitimate free movie actor, but the name is also used fraudulently to distribute VSearch. If there is an element with that name in the Applications folder, delete it. I do not recommend to install the genuine "MPlayerX", because it is hosted on the rogue 'SourceForge' site and is bundled with other malware.

This Trojan horse is often found on the illegal Web sites that traffic in content such as movies pirated. If you, or anyone else who uses the computer, visit these Web sites and follow the instructions to install the software, you can expect more of the same and worse, to follow. Never install software that you downloaded from a bittorrent, or which has been downloaded by someone else from an unknown source.

In the aspect of security & confidentiality of system preferences, select the general tab. The marked anywhere radio button should not be selected. If this is the case, click the lock icon to unlock the settings, and then select an other keys. After that, do not ignore a warning that you are about to run or install an application from an unknown Director.

Then, still in system preferences, open the pane of the App Store or software update and check the box marked

Install the system data files and security updates (OS X 10.10 or later version)

    or

Automatically download the updates (OS X 10.9 or earlier version)

If it is not already done.

When I start most of the programs that is lock and on the taskbar it says program does not.  How can I stop this from happening?

    Original title: Windows Explorer

It is a good number with a boot drive (C:\ drive) that is cruelly of free space.

A healthy walk NEEDS 20% free space at least to work properly and prevent your suspension system.

Several causes are possible, but check your free space. Upgrade your hard drive if necessary.

    More RAM might help too.

Check these before you attempt to update or install anything more.

  • Unable to access computer because the account password for Windows Vista has been forgotten and don't have a password reset disk/hard to find ways to restore the system... Help please

    Hello
I'm stuck on the screen on my computer for my Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit edition. The password to the user account has been lost, and now I am unable to access my computer. I don't have a created password reset disk so I can't reset the password. I searched these forums and seems the most effective way is to run a system restore to a time where I did have a password for my account. Fortunately for me, I did an automatic update of Windows that created a system restore point literally moments before I put the password, so I should be able to get access to my computer once I figured out how to get system restore to work. The advice I found on other forums do not seem to work, because I'm in my Windows vista operating system disc, but no screen is coming up with 'Repair your computer', which indicate the steps happen. I need assistance to find another way to run the system restore on boot menus/Vista/DVD CD. Thank you.

Go to Bestbuy or other PC shop. They can fix it for you. (Could I have so I am not allowed to post these alternative instructions.)

    Hey @happypouch ,

These options will wipe your HARD drive and data. I create a back up of your documents by using the Windows backup and restore options. Unfortunately, most people think to back up their files, after that it's too late, it is better to ask for now rather than later.

    Thank you.

  • "' Just removed malware System Check, but the links lost for most of the programs in the menu start" all programs. "

For example, I can open a drawing by clicking the .dwg file in CAD Solution Explorer, but in programs from starting, I can't open the program. When clicked on the link says "empty." Advice?

    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/virus-removal/remove-system-check

If you're infected with system check it is important not to delete all files in your Temp folder or use of cleaning of temp file. It is because when the infection is installed, it will remove shortcuts found in various locations and store the backups of them in the %Temp%\smtmp folder. It does what you have when trying to launch a program in your Start menu, any of your shortcuts will appear and making it so you think that your computer has a serious problem. Therefore, if you do not want to delete all files in your Temp folder to delete the backups we use later in the guide to restore your Windows Start Menu. For a list of folders that the shortcuts are deleted and the corresponding directories where they are stored, see this topic: Unhide.exe - an introduction as to what made this program.

To still do believe that your computer is not working properly, check system will make also as well as certain folders on your computer screen without content. With the opening of these files, such as C:\Windows\System32\ or various drive letters instead of see the list of files that it goes to the contrary to view the contents of a different file or make it seems as if the folder is empty. This is done to make believe that there is corruption on your hard drive which causes your files to not be displayed. It does this by adding the + H, or hidden attribute to all of your files, which causes your files become hidden. It will then change your Windows settings so that you cannot view hidden and system files. Once the rogue process is completed, you can enable the setting display the hidden files, and be able to review your files and folders, by following the instructions in this tutorial:

How to see hidden files in Windows

  • Windows 7 unable to access XP via the snap-snap-in mmc

    Hello gentlemen,

The question that I have met is "Insufficient permissions" which tent to access remotely via the MMC, the Task Scheduler. I came to the conclusion that there is a compatibility issue of cross that I am under Win 7 and tries to access an XP machine. I can access the Task Scheduler on Windows 7 machines without any problem, but the XP machines give me an insufficient permissions error. I have the possible right plu admin for my domain, I excluded insufficient permissions and concluded with cross incompatibility.
Someone has encountered this same problem and/or found a fix for this. Thank you in advance!

  • Cannot run most of the programs in Control Panel because it says that I don't have \WINDOWS\system32\rundll.exe'. on my hard drive

I recently installed sp3 on my computor he had sp2 now when I access panel, I can't run any programs like display or add or remove programs or internet con. I tried the system restore but it will not go forward or backward I always got the error this file \WIndows\system32\rundll32.exe'. is not on the hard drive that I can reistall sp 2 with sp3 hope somone can help thanks lindell wood

If you have installed SP3 and now the file is missing, the opinion of the Support Engineer Microsoft won't help you unless you have a genuine XP installation CD also is Service Pack 3.

That's extremely unlikely, unless you did it yourself and some people have never seen a real installation of XP bootable CD in their life then, how is this will help...  But, this is a link to a Microsoft KB article.

When you try to open a control panel applet, you see a message like this:

    Control Panel
Windows cannot find 'C:\WINDOWS\system32\rundll32.exe '.  Make sure you typed the name correctly and then try again.  To search for a file, click the Start button, and then click search.

If the file is actually missing, it was probably quarantined (actually deleted) programmatically your antivirus or anti-malware not specified that you use.

You might want to reconsider anything not stated antivirus or antimalware you programs use and whether or not they are effective to protect your system.

You can look in the c:\windows\system32 folder and see if the file is actually missing or not, but you should replace it somehow.

I downloaded a copy of XP Pro SP3 file you need on my SkyDrive (everyone has a SkyDrive for file sharing).

You can download it and when you do, place a copy of the file in these two folders (assuming that Windows is installed on your C drive):

    c:\Windows\System32
c:\Windows\System32\dllcache (this is where XP keeps backups of important files).

Here is the link to my SkyDrive and you can get the file you need here:
    http://CID-6a7e789cab1d6f39.SkyDrive.live.com/redir.aspx?RESID=6A7E789CAB1D6F39! 311

When you see the files available for download, you can not see the file extension (.exe, .dll, .cpl, .sys, .zip, etc.), but when download you them they will have the right extension.

When you download the file (especially if you use Internet Explorer), when you get a chance to save the file, your browser is unable to save the file with an extension (by example, .exe, .dll, .cpl, .sys, .zip, etc) then you will need to manually add the extension appropriate to the file when you download the file before you save it.

You can download the file without the extension, and then rename the file to add the appropriate extension.  You do not want to use a file called rundll32 when the name of the file should really be called rundll32.exe (if the downloaded file has no extension, you will need to change the name of the file to add the appropriate extension to make it work.

You then put the downloaded files in the correct folders on your system.

That may not solve all your problems, but at least you will be spending this part and we can then fix the rest.

  • Satellite U300 - Dithering in Photoshop and most of the programs

    Hello
I have a problem with my laptop Toshiba Satellite U300 - 153. I still see the terrible dithering in most programs, including the Explorer. I can't use Adobe PS CS3, because I'm not clear. And there is usually a lot of artifact on white background.

I installed the latest BIOS and driver Toshiba display site.

Thank you all for help and I'm sorry for my English.

    Hello

It is difficult for me to imagine what you mean exactly by dithering and what it looks like
You said that you see this in most programs have you checked if this is also displayed on an external monitor?
Connect the external monitor and check this!

This will help you know what could be the problem.

If this is not noticeable on the second monitor so that would mean that the screen of your laptop is malfunctioning.
