Unable to add music to iTunes playlist

I can't click and drag the music from iTunes in my playlists?

Create a new Playlist and then try to drag a song or an album in the new playlist.

If this does not help, try to quit and relaunch iTunes or by restarting your computer.

  • Unable to add music to iTunes

So my iTunes has bugged out. It won't let me add/link songs to it at all. Well, he does, or he did, but now it is simply stopped. I downloaded as 7 new songs today and about 4-5 of those that were imported, but others won't matter at all. The songs are not missed, I played against them and they are fine and I tried countless suggestions on the Apple Support Forums, but nothing works. Rebooting does make a difference either.

It's really annoying, however. All I want is to add new songs to my phone and it cannot even do... I delete a song from iTunes and added to see if it worked, and he did. It seems that it is only these select songs are not added, when there is nothing wrong with them. Help?

I really need to think/pay attention until I post these questions... It turns out that it was a problem with the songs. Idk what was wrong, but I re-uploaded them and they work fine now. Sorry guys, if it was another loss of your time... :/

  • How to add music to iTunes without copying the music files

How to add music to iTunes without music copied to an iTunes Media folder or anywhere else?

I read the answer is to go into the advanced settings and uncheck "Copy files to iTunes Media when adding to library". Which is excellent and this option is not checked, but iTunes keep copy of the music into an iTunes Media folder...

Anything ripped CD, converted, downloaded from the iTunes Store or added via the automatically add to iTunes folder will eventually iTunes Media. If you add a folder of files stored outside the media folder and the option is disabled, then iTunes should not be generating copies in the media folder. Can you describe a specific example where you can see the new arrival before and after importation?

As a backup to one side and the migration of an iTunes library is much easier if all the content is organized inside the iTunes Media folder, but this is no reason not to try and find out why things are not behave correctly for you now.

I recently got an iphone 5s and cannot download my music from itunes on my mac pro on the phone book.  The error message indicates that the phone needs a newer version of itunes?

Yes, the iPhone requires a newer version of iTunes on your Mac.

Your profile says you're on OS X 10.5 (Leopard), which is now eight years old.  Is this correct?  If so, it's the source of your problem.

The current version of the iOS (9.2.1) requires a recent version of iTunes (12.3.2).  iTunes 12.3 requires at least OS X 10.8.5.

Then you have probably a whole bunch of OS X upgrade to make.  To see if it is still possible to bring your Mac to the current OS X (El Capitan), see:

  • Lightroom slideshow add music

I am trying to create a slideshow in Lr CC on mac and am unable to add music. I get the message "the music file is not well-formed." I tried to add files .m4a and .mp3 to my library (files imported from various sources in itunes). I'd appreciate any help!

I found that in closing CC Ps (which was also open at the time) and Lr CC (2015.3) and restarting Lr, I was then able to add music files to the slideshow without displaying the error message.

  • Add files to iTunes library

My question is quite simple and easy, even embarrassing, but I just switch from windows to mac and have not understood yet all quarks. Can I play music from any folder using iTunes, without copying in the iTunes folder? Whenever I tried to add music to iTunes library it seems to copy the music files some of the folder in the folder iTunes music thingy. I had to change to a third party for this reason just music player, but would like to be able to use the stock apple made one. Thank you in advance!

iTunes > Preferences > advanced > copy the files into the iTunes Media folder when adding to library > Off.

However, I would advise that it is not the best approach in the long term. Have iTunes connected to scattered across media room makes it much harder to keep the library saved properly or move it to a new computer, the time is right. For general information, see make a library of portable split .

If you want to avoid the creation of duplicates when you add content to the library then could be ~User/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media/automatically add to iTunes iTunes that add you to the library move it in the standard location in the media folder, and make sure that you have only one copy of each file. Readers of third party can access the same media folder.

  • Why doesn't iTunes add music from my computer to the library?

Hello, I'm having a problem with iTunes, add music from my computer to my library.  I am running the latest version of iTunes on my Windows 7 Desktop and everything works fine except for the folder of the file/add to the library feature.  I have a folder with music midi files on my desktop I want to synchronize with an old iPhone to play on my piano player.  Whenever I try to add the folder or individual songs from the folder to my library the action of importing them just suddenly be farm/is unable to finish before something happens.  I used to be able to add songs to my computer with no problems, but now, it seems that iTunes is not allow to happen.  Is it because I can't add midi music files to my library, because there is something wrong with my version of iTunes which does not add music?  Or this here that I am aware of a compatibility issue?  Is anyone know how can I add music to my old iPhone (1st generation iPhone 5) in a different way, if it is not possible or can point me in the direction of a person who would have?  Should I jailbreak it to get there?  (I don't know something I only heard people do it before).  Thank you very much for your time!

    Daughter of starfish,

To the best of my knowledge, new versions of iTunes cannot read MIDI files.  Older versions of iTunes relied on QuickTime to handle the lunch, but QuickTime is part of iTunes.

If you want to try one last thing, you can drag a MIDI file your automatically add to iTunes folder to see what is happening.  On my machine, it ends up in the not added folder and does not appear in the library.

  • I have more than music in itunes my ipod can hold, the last time I synced, there was a box to synchronize playlists only, now it's over so how can I now sync playlists only, you can see?

I have more than music in itunes my ipod can hold, the last time I synced, there was a box to synchronize playlists only, now it's over so how can I now sync playlists only, you can see?

Select the iPod in iTunes (click on its button on the device on the horizontal bar) to show its settings screen in the iTunes window.  The side left (in the sidebar), under settings, click music.  To the right, the settings screen of music from iPod, where you tell iTunes how to sync songs to the iPod.

NOTE: All of the songs on the iPod that are not in your iTunes library (on the computer) will be lost.

Check the box to Sync music (if it isn't already).  Below, choose the option synchronize playlists, artists, albums, and genres.  Below, under playlists, select (check) the playlists you want on the iPod.  You can also select other articles on other lists, as you wish.  Click Apply to sync your selection to iPod.

Further, iTunes automatically updated the iPod with the changes made to the selected part of the iTunes music library.  For example, if you update a list of selected reading (add/remove songs), updates iTunes, the iPod with the same changes the next time you connect (or click Sync if already connected).

  • Cannot add music on my iPhone via iTunes!

I apologize if this has been asked several times, I'm afraid, I can't find a solution for myself and I have a few questions myself.

First of all, I have an iPhone running iOS 9.2 5. Operating system my PC is Windows 8.1. My iTunes is currently 12.3. I dunno if iTunes itself set to date (although I'm sure that I have disabled the automatic updates), but I've never manually updated my iTunes since the installation. And since the installation, I was able to add music on my phone just fine. I don't have to add songs to the iTunes library and let it sync. I used to drag and drop the song directly in my phone's music library. It goes the same for movies.

But today, my cursor turns into a 'NO' (the circle with the slash) symbol each time do I drag and drop my songs, as I've done normally. The song is not added, and my phone's music library is unchanged. I have still a few left GB which I believe is sufficient to add 2-3 songs.

So, I tried looking for an online solution. Most of them recommended to "manually manage music and videos". This setting average/do what? I tried to check it out and apply the changes, however, I get a popup window that informs me that my phone is synchronized with another library iTunes on another computer and if I want to "erase this iPhone and sync with this iTunes library."

He adds: "you can sync an iPhone with the library only iTunes at the same time." Erasing and syncing replaces the content of this iPhone with the contents of this iTunes library. »

Now, as I mentioned, I used to add tracks directly on my phone, so right now, my iTunes library is completely empty. Following this and correct me if I'm wrong, but if I choose "Erase and Sync" means that all the content - not just music, but the photos and videos - my iPhone will be deleted? Because if so, I'm afraid, I can't continue to "manually manage music and videos". :/

I also found other solutions, such as:

    1. quickly disconnect the phone after pressing "erase and Sync. However, I am a little worried about it. I do not say that it does not, but he had been warned that if you unplug a little too late, you may lose your data. And I'm not willing to take that risk.

2 uncheck "share my library on the local network. However, mine is already disabled. Check back it will solve my problem? This setting even mean?

It's so about it. If anyone can help or even answer some of my questions, it would be really great! Any help is appreciated. Thank you!

In addition, if you need further details, let me know.

See recover your iTunes from your iPod or an iOS device. You should always keep a complete copy of your media on your computer and which back up to another drive for security. You will then be able to restore or to recharge your device if need arise.

Clear and synchronisation warning refers to music, videos, podcasts, and other media, not your data app and settings or your camera. However you would be advised to return to the top of your device and the copy on the contents of the camera roll before making any changes.

  • Restoration of music iTunes & playlists from Time Machine

For some unexplained reason, iTunes decided to forget all my music and lists reading, although nothing had been knowingly changed. As much as iTunes is concerned, I don't have music and playlists.

I see all the music is still on my hard drive, so import again would be probably to load my music into iTunes, but I have a number of large playlists that I also want to preserve.  I thought that it is better to ask advice before rushing in and possibly make things worse.

My hard drive is backed up with Time Machine daily. What is the best way to return to how it was using TM?  What files should be restored?

Try to hold down the option/ALT key at startup of iTunes and select the iTunes Library.itl file in the iTunes folder. If it's not search with spotlight.

    If necessary:
