  Help, please! I have seen that other people have had this problem before and I think I probably did what I should... All cookies are allowed on IE, and Chrome and Edge.   The last few days during the use of the internet, some Web pages will not be not open. I get a msg of error saying 'unable to connect to the server', but it works very well with other sites such as Facebook and YouTube.  This happens when I use Safari, Firefox and Chrome.  Yet if I'm in Safe Boot mode it works fine.  I exaggerate the App installed VPN and when I am in normal mode and connect to the VPN exaggeration, all Web pages work correctly. I searched the net for days trying to find a solution but nothing I tried worked.  I'm not very computer savvy either so don't know much of what I do with this technical stuff.  I emptied the caches, but that did not work.  Following the advice of an answer to another question on this forum that was similar to mine, I went into the Terminal and performed a diagnostic test.  I don't understand all the information in this essay so hope someone here can decipher.   If a problem does not occur when it is started in safe mode, then you have already determined that the problem was isolated to a few 3rd party software running on your Mac.  Take a look at the information below to start with the removal of some elements of start-up and connection and see if the problem persists:

  Test your login items

  1. Choose the Apple menu > System Preferences, and then click users and groups.

  2. Click on your account under the current user name, and then click connection points.

     Make a list of the login items, you will need to remember later.

  3. Select all the elements of connection, and then click the button Delete .

  4. Choose the Apple menu > restart.

  5. If this solves the problem, reopen the preferences users and groups, add the elements of connection one at a time and restart your Mac after the addition of each of them.

     If the problem persists, follow the steps above to remove only the last element of connection that you added.

• Unable to connect to the Cisco VPN you use native client: El Capitan

  I'm unable to connect to the Cisco VPN using native client server Cisco OSX via IPSec. Before the upgrade for connections VPN El Capitan has worked without any problems. VPN uses the shared secret of group. It seems, I get the error "raccoon [2580] ': could not send message vpn_control: Broken pipe ' during the connection."

  When I upgraded to El Capitan, VPN connection has stopped working. I tried to do the following:

  * connect using the old work VPN connection: without success

  AUTH settings [shared secret, the Group name].

  Advanced [mode to use the passive FTP = TRUE]

  It seems that I solved the problem, but I'm not sure it helped.

  After restart of the operating system, the two connections: old and new Cisco via IPSec connection, began to work.

Since then, I updated from XP to windows 8.1, changed a router and connected the printer through a series of switches on a wired ethernet connection. A few days ago, I tried to use e print but received a message that I couldn't connect to the server.

  Welcome to the HP Support forums.  I think since upgrade to 8.1 Windows and change your printer router cannot connect to web services to get the job of ePrint feature.

  Please define Manual of the printer an IP address manually and DNS servers. I've included a link to another post, I did it with the stages (including screenshots) how to do it.

  I just got 3 new laptops (Vostro 1520) Dell with Vista Home basic. I have internet exlorer 8 installed and firefox with fireftp. IM aware of the inability of windows to connect to ftp servers, or internet explorer 8 or windows Solution Explorer, but I was always able to connect to my FTP with fireftp. It is not the case with these machines... I open fireftp, plug my characteristics of the object and its says its trying to connect, but then returns with an error reading "unable to connect to the server. Please try again ". I also tried filezilla and smartftp and still nothing. I checked my server logs and my logs show even that my laptop has even tried to connect to the server, the laptop is not allowing the ftp request to even leave the computer. I even went into windows advanced configuration firewall and created new rules for port 21 ftp and still im even not get to the server.

  I know that this isn't...

  -user name or password
  -windows on Norton Firewall (attempted to extinguish both)

  IM completely drawing a blank as to what could be causing this, the server is configured to the standard port 21 so there is nothing extra needs to be done, as far as I know with whom.

  There could be some third-party programs running in the background that can be interrupted.

  You can try to start the computer in safe mode with networking to see if it works.

  Steps to start in safe mode:

  1 restart your computer if it is running.

  2. tap on the F8 key after your initially on powers computer.

  3. Once you see the menu Advanced Boot Options, you can stop tapping.

  4. use the up/down arrow keys to highlight your selection.

  5. Select Mode safe mode with networking and press ENTER.

  6. you should see loading drivers and wait please.

  7. you should then be at the Welcome screen.

  8. connect to your computer using an account with administrator privileges.

  More than likely the XP box is behind a firewall/router which does not pass traffic GRE protocol 47 . You can test the VPN PPTP link by running the test detailed in the traffic VPN PPTP Ping and secitons on this page.
