Unable to connect to the host via VMWare View Security Server 4

I have installed and configured the VMWare View connection server and can connect to the virtual machine (Windows XP Pro) shareed via the customer to view without a problem. The problem Im having is that I have configured the Security server in my zone demilitarized and authorized the appropriate DMZ ports and the port 80 and 443 to the outside on my DMZ. Access the public URL and he invites me to authenticate what I do and it then publishes my office pool. I click to connect to the shared pool and it says connection for about 5 drops of s and then just my connection. Now, if I go to my security on my DMZ server, I can connect to the thin desktop via RDP.

Thank you

eeg3 is correct if you have a direct connection enabled on the broker for connections paired with security server then you would be forced to open 3389 to the outside world since the workstations would try to connect directly to the desktop.    The right way to go forward is to create the replica with disabled direct connection and combine security with this box server.

  • Unable to connect to the host ESXi VMware converter 5.1

    Hi all

I am trying to use the converter, but difficulties. I can use the first option to connect to a virtual machine power on but when I try to use the second option. To connect to a 5.1 ESXi host, I get the message of network failure. There are stories saying the ports and services must be open on the host computer, but what are they and how to open them? I use the converter 5 version and there is no involved vcenter.

    Welcome to the community,

unfortunately impossible to use Converter 5.0 with a target of ESXi 5.1 (see http://kb.vmware.com/kb/2033315). If all goes well a corrected version will be published soon.

    Hello

    Resolution

    Cause

This problem can occur if an ESX host's IP address is changed while being managed by vCenter Server.

    Check the cause

To check the cause of the problem:

    1. Log in as root to the ESX host using a SSH client.
    1. In the file etc/opt/vmware/vpxa/vpxa.cfg, find the IP address of the host. The entry looks like:

      10.21.48.121

Note: for more information about editing the files, see installation in VMware ESX configuration files (1017022).

    Troubleshooting

If the IP address is incorrect, perform the following steps in order. If the operation does not resolve the problem, continue to the next step. Don't skip a step.

    1. Disconnect and then reconnect the host:
    1. Right click on the ESX host in vCenter Server and click Disconnect.
    1. Reconnect the ESX host in vCenter Server.
    1. Restart the VirtualCenter agent on the ESX host:
    1. Stop the service of vpxa with the command:

      # service vmware-vpxa stop

    1. Open the /etc/opt/vmware/vpxa/vpxa.cfg file in a text editor and correct the IP address of the ESX host.
    1. Start the service of vpxa with the command:

      # service vmware-vpxa start

Note: for VMware ESXi, you may have to restart all the management agents. For more information, see restart the agents on an ESX or ESXi Server (1003490) management .

    1. Rebuild the VirtualCenter agent on the ESX host configuration file:

Attention: this step removes all the Statistics counters historical host and the virtual machine. If VMware ESX host is running in virtual machines that starts in a permitted CVS environment, you maybe won't be able to add the host without stopping the virtual machines first.

    1. Right click on the ESX host in vCenter Server and click Disconnect.
    1. Remove the ESX host disconnected from vCenter Server.
    1. Backup the file vpxa.cfg with the command:

      # mv /etc/opt/vmware/vpxa/vpxa.cfg /etc/opt/vmware/vpxa/vpxa.oldcfg

    1. Add the ESX host disconnected to the server vCenter inventory.
    1. Run the following command to view the contents of /etc/opt/vmware/vpxa/vpxa.cfg and confirm that the host IP address is correct:

      # cat /etc/opt/vmware/vpxa/vpxa.cfg

This KB will show you the steps to re-create the Service Console, but you'll need to console or ILO access to the ESX host.

I also tried Ubuntu 10.04 with vmRun from a Workstation 7.1.2 installation.  There, he also fails with the same error.

Note that ESXi 4.1 is used to test installation is not allowed and is running in demo mode.  Management of the vSphere client works without any problem the same Windows XP workstation.

I think we confuse you.  ESX server is running like a machine virtual within the workstation, correct?  If Yes, then you must edit the vmx esx server with these entries monitor configuration file *.  They can go anywhere in the file.  Once those have been added, you should be able to run 32-bit virtual machines within the esx server.

When you click on the console of a virtual machine, the server that hosts the vm responds back with its host name for your client to connect to.  Thus, the MKS console could not be connected to, and you could not see the virtual machine console, until you updated name resolution.  Given that the ESX host is back with a name, the customer could not resolve the name, if your client could not connect to the virtual computer mouse, keyboard, screen.  Hope that makes more sense.

    The problem has been resolved.

    The fix:

    =====

    # vimsh-e - n/hostsvc/hostsummary | grep inMaintenanceMode

I can print via the USB cable but I can't return to my printers GUI by entering 192.168.1.12 return the printer back from the static IP address.
A hard reset for this printer would be appreciated.
    Thank you very much.

    Hello
I solved the problem. The answer was staring face heres so my solution for someone who has had similar problems.
I didn't dig up the old router that affects the 192.168.1.xx IP network and then connected my PC, connected my printer then connected printers user interface through the static IP address, I assigned earlier. Changed to automatic IP. Connected my new router (which assigns the IP addresses of 192.168.0.xx) to my PC and printer. Everything is now OK.
    Thank you.

  • Unable to connect to the Internet via a Linksys Wireless card

I used a Linksys BEFW11S4 for several years with no problems.  A PC is connected via a network cable and the other (Dell laptop) used a wireless adapter Linksys that plugged into the laptop (model of Linksys WPC11 ver (4).  All my computers using Windows XP with the latest service packs.

I plugged the Dell laptop to the router via a cable to transfer files faster than the network B.  Then, when I disconnected the cable and reconnected the wireless card, I was unable to use the Wi - Fi connection to connect to the internet.  Wired works very well, is not wireless.

Windows reports a good wireless connection to the router, but the machine is unable to connect to the internet using the wireless card.  It can connect to the internet when using a network cable, however.

Pings what either using the Wi - Fi connection failed (expired).

I used another laptop (a more recent Toshiba with a wireless card built-in) to connect to the router and it works very well with the connectivity wired or wireless.  No problem switching back with this machine.  So, the problem is not with the router or the router configuration.

I was through the forums and seen a LOT of people seems to have the same problem with these Wireless Linksys routers.

I tried to use the Easy Link software to configure the machine, but: (1) Linksys updated web site is not valid, and (2) with the www.linksysfix.com/ela site that directs users to the software is also invalid.  Linksys technical support seems to be lacking.

I went to the usual network setup menus and two laptops seem to be configured the same way, again, we're working wireless and we do not.

I would appreciate solutions others have tried and who has worked with this problem.

I reinstalled the drivers for the Linksys card and it does not work.  Windows recognizes the new hardware card, reports that it is connected to the router, but still no internet connection

all services are started with the exception of oracle hyperion configuration manager. I tried to start, but it does not start... is - this service has an impact on the administration server.

I checked the logs, I can't find anything in easserver.log.

    any suggestions?

    Kind regards

Looks like you have deployed web applications to a single managed server that is running on a port by default of 9000, then try to add the server to the Regional service as servername:9000

    See you soon

  • Unable to connect to the host PuTTY using!

    Hello people.

I try to use puTTY to connect to the host, but I can't. Message says - Network error: Connection refused. Any help.

    Thank you.

In terms of virtualization, there is no real difference but how you interact with directly it is - the console, usually called the Service Console is part of ESX. It is essentially a virtual machine running RHEL which is used to manage and control your ESX Server.  Being based on linux is to SSH ocnnections research and this is what you connect to use a like of the PuTTY SSH client. In ESXi management and control functionality is part of the vmkernel which is the o/s of the ESXi server. It is no longer use RHEL so there is no capability of SSH connection so PuTTY will not work.  VMware has replaced the Service Console with remote CLI - which gives you the functionality of the Service Console.
