  Try to find that the problem with the user account is probably not worth the time it would take. Restart the computer in Safe Mode. When you are prompted, choose to log in to the administrator account. Go to control panel > user accounts. Create a new account here. Name anything at random for now. Now navigate to my computer > C drive open > Documents and Settings folder. Your old user account. Now locate all records containing your files. Copy and paste them in the folder appropriate for the new account. Now delete the old account.  You can now change the name of the new account name you had in the old account. It is probably the best way to fix it.

  If you have forgotten your password, if you have another user who has administrative privileges account you can log in to that account and change the password of your account of origin of the user accounts applet in Control Panel.   General recommendations for creating users in Vista:

  You absolutely don't want to have only one user account. As XP and all the other modern operating systems, Vista is a multi-user system with integrated system of accounts as default Administrator and comments.
