Unable to print from the guest account

I have 5 PC's set up, the HP versions all the same.  All are running Win 7 Home Premium.  One of them, I can't print from the guest account.  I can print fine to the account Admin

The printer is a network HP 1505N printer.

I checked the Security tab & permissions - everyone is put to PRINT.  The printer appears in the list, but you cannot print to it (the "print" button is grayed out).

I tried to remove and reinstall.

If I'm going to troubleshoot the printer, I get "year error occurred while troubleshooting."

The only AV/Firewall program running is Microsoft Security Essentials.

Still, this is only a single 1 PC 5.  Help, please!

Welcome to the community of HP @mikiev,

I read your current and previous posts about how you can't print from the internet, and I wanted to answer you with my suggestions. I understand that you have tried to use different however search engines, try to return to my colleague's response @RnRMusicMan on the link below and try to use another web browser altogether. Again, if you use Google Chrome, try Firefox or Internet Explorer.

If Chrome and Firefox will not print, try printing from NotePad, which is a program that is preinstalled on your system to see if the draws work from there.

You can also try uninstalling and reinstalling Google Chrome or Firefox, whatever one you use often, to see if that helps the printing problem.

Let me know what is happening and we can go from there!

    Good luck

  • OfficeJet 6000 computer connected to windows 7. Unable to print from the laptop Windows XP

Printer connected by USB to the Windows 7 desktop.  Printing is fine.  I have two computers on the same network of working group, file sharing is allowed.  My laptop detects the printer on the network, but there is apparently a driver problem.  The disc supplied with the printer will only install on XP and Vista, so downloaded the drivers for the new office of windows 7.  I either get a message "Failed to print" or "the handle is invalid."  When I tried to connect to the printer via the network of sharing and tried to open it, I was told that the wrong drivers were located on the server.  He had the air of a file with *. INF.  Do I have the wrong drivers on the desktop or do I need to install the drivers on the laptop?  I never had this problem with my old Vista desktop.

Hello.  Finally, I was able to install additional drivers for XP on the server computer and can now print from the laptop.  Thanks for the help!

  • photsmart 6525: unable to print from the photo tray

I changed the photo tray settings and selected the format of photo paper and all, but it will still print from the photo tray. I loaded the HP 5 x 7 advanced photo paper in the photo albums tray and emptied the lower tray, but it just says: I have more paper.  Help, please!

    jessicazadd

Welcome to the Community Forum of HP.

Maybe for this printer model, the Photo tray only wants to print on 4 X 6 photo paper.

The printer will allow you to place the 5 X 7 Photo paper in the lower status bar / hand and printed after setting printing preferences?

  • Unable to print from the web?

I can print my documents, but you cannot print from the web.

Not sure if this has anything to do with a recent update on my pc on the Bluetooth... but other than that have had the printer for a while and no problem at all.

So totally flumixed.  I made the print and scan that says everything is fine and prints a page of test without any problem.  But if I go on the web and try to print anything, it will not work.

I have windows 7 and use chrome for web

    Any suggestions? Thank you

Thank you very much for this information.

Yes, if you can print from Internet Explorer, but not Google Chrome, there is an issue with Chrome. You can try to uninstall Google Chrome on your computer. Please follow this document here.

Now you can install Google Chrome on your computer by following this document here.  When you print a Web page, press Ctrl + P on your keyboard. You will be able to get an overview of the page, set printer and base page settings prior to printing. Please follow this document here to help you. Make sure that the destination is set to your printer (4500 envy). If this is not the case, and then click Modify.

  • Unable to print from the Mac Book Air (OS 10.9.2) on HP Envy 5532

    Hello

I just bought a new HP Envy 5532 printer but cannot print to the device? (Wireless)

When I add the printer using 'System of preferences, Printers & Scanners etc', I get the following message:

"Unable to verify the printer on your network" unable to connect to 192.168.1.116 due to an error. You want to create the printer?

If I click on continue, he adds the printer ok, however, if I try and use it, work just sits in the print queue without actually printing.

I am able to ping and connect to the printer using http. I am almost able to scan a document so that it is directly connected via http, however, once a doc has been scanned, I am unable to 'download' or see it in reality.

It seems that network connectivity is fine, however, as I still can't really complete all print jobs.

    Any suggestions would be welcome.

    Thank you

    J

    Hi JMatt100,

    Welcome to the HP forums!

I see your message you have a craving 5532 that doesn't seem to connect with your Mac running 10.9. I'm sorry to hear what is happening, but I will certainly do my best to help!

I recommend that you try power cycling your network, with the printer and the Mac. To do this, please turn the printer and the Mac off and wait until they close completely. Then pull the power cord on the router for 30 seconds. Once the router is plugged in please wait for all the lights to return to normal before you turn on the printer and the Mac back on. Once it's done see if Mac acts differently when you try to connect with envy.

If the problem persists, I would you reset your printing system (do not add the printer back immediately), and then perform a check/repair your disk permissions. Once these full please download software HP for your printer and see if you can get things working properly using the HP software.

I hope hear from you soon!

  • Unable to connect to the guest account

    Original title: user accounts

OK, I turned on my guest account because my children needed to use my PC.  When I select it, it just from the logs of and brings back me to the screen in the long run.  So, I created an account for it (had one before, but removed).  The same thing, it does not load.  I did a system restore... still cannot operate.  Is there a limit as to how many accounts can have?  Why acct of comments does not work?  I have Win 7.  I have a total of 3 accts, 2 are administrative, we're not.   How can I fix this.  There are too many debates to follow to see if there is a response.

    Thank you.

No, there is no limit to the number of users, you can have (at least not practical, it could be a literal limit at a point like 255 users or something).

I would try using the File Checker system to analyze and any difficulty broken/missing system files.  Login as any account that has administrator rights, then do this:

    • In the search box of the start menu, type cmd and press Ctrl-Shift-Enter. The command prompt that opens should be marked as a prompt 'administrator' at the top.  If this shortcut does not work, you can also just find the command prompt and do a right click to 'run as administrator'.
    • At the command prompt, type this command and press ENTER: sfc/scannow

This will start the System File Checker, and it may take a few hours of work, so you can just start before going to bed and let it go.  Don't forget your power settings will not not the computer falling asleep during the scan (it won't hurt her, but you have to start over).

If you can, please let us know the results of the analysis and if he is able to correct the problem. Thank you!

  • Unable to print from the web... allows to print from notepad or wordpad since

Well Firefox using more than a year with a Lexmark printer. Switched to an Epson printer yesterday and used the Epson install disk by following the instructions. Tried to print 2 different elements of the internet tonight and got a msg that the printer cannot communicate with the PC. Called Epson which had me a test print om Notepad and print it out. Print very well. Epson said it isn't a problem with the printer, but rather a conflict with Internet Explorer (which I use is any more). Can advise you. The Epson has by default in my control panel and I unplugged then replugged my USB cable, the printer power cable and restarted my PC.

Bob please remove your E-mail address, we spam bots that cruse forums, looking for things like that. Also what starts here ends here, if others have this issue and the answer is not here that it is not very useful.

     Removing printer:

Disconnect the printer from your computer. Click 'Start' and open "devices and printers". Here, you will find your printer. Right-click on the icon and tell "remove hardware".
When the printer is removed, restart Windows and make sure that the printer is not available.
At this point, plug the printer back in and turn it on Win7 must track a driver to make it work. Remember that the word 'works' Win7 found a driver and installed, it does not mean that it is the biggest driver.

Epson is one of the original designers of printers I would be shocked if they did not have the driver you need right on the Web. That being said, that is where Win7 would receive the driver. BUT Win7 is going to pull from a pool of drivers based on what they get back from pinging your printer, they will pull what is said to work by the printer builder, it would be up to the printer builder to keep the pool up to date.

So once you are up and running you may want to go to Epson and search that out. The proper Epson driver may give you options Win7 won't know about.
