Unable to run games that came with Vista? (default games)

An error message indicates that the games aren't there. I look in the folder and nothing in there. I have not moved or deleted all the files in the folders. I have Windows vista. I tried the exe file, but it isn't here. Is there a way I can reinstal the default games?

The games are: Mahjong Titans, Minesweeper, hearts...

Hi Fraser99,

  • Impossible to install XP on a 9200 that came with Vista

With so many problems with Vista with own MS software and I want to install XP on it. Have a new drive ard of Seagate Barracuda that I might as well keep the Vista disc in case it improves.

However when I booted the CD XP2 home installation he loaded the original installation files and then says that the PC will have to shut down to protect it. Suggested looking for viruses and remove all material or new hard disks. I unplugged all readers secondary peripheral USB etc. Dell tell me that I do not violate my warranty and that the 9200 should run XP but cannot help in addition.

Examined the installer and it is configured to RAID only, but the VISTA disc should do a long to itself repair after I tried the RAID Autodetect / ATA option that seemed a solution possible.

  • Lost all the games that came with vista

I have a Vista Home Premium on an HP laptop. Earlier this week free cell began acting strange, now I can not find my games in the Games folder. I looked at the other issue and followed the advice to ensure that the games have been checked (they are). I restored to a point when I knew that Free Cell worked properly for me (used a restore 4 days ago point: a system checkpoint).  Also did a full restore of the computer about (because of driver problem with the touchpad) 8 days ago. I don't have a copy of vista, as the hp computer asks me to do the restore DVD.

On my other computer (built) that uses vista the same thing happened, a few days ago. I followed the advice on the forums. This time I unchecked the box features Windows, restarted, recheck the boxes and loaded the game from the disc, rebooted again, and they did not always show up.

I am running AV on the two computer (KASPERSKY), the laptop has no other third party programs other than the full restore hp programs, I have not loaded in the files (images, music, office files). The Office has a few games (lotro/ddo) and some third party programs (ccleaner, firefox, ventrio and Skype). All the software on both computers are updated, and Vista is updated to SP2.

I'm at a lost on what to do next.

    Hi RedRocket88,

Am really sorry to hear that the built-in games do not work.
    Please, try the following steps:
    1. click on the Start button
    2. on the Start Menu, click all programs followed by accessories
    3. in the menu accessories, right-click on command line option
    4. in the drop-down menu that appears, click the "Run as Administrator" option.
    5. in the command prompt window, type: sfc/scannow then press enter

Once its finished, restart the computer and check with the games, also try to reinstall them using programs and features and check what is happening.

I do I have re - captured windows games that were installed when I bought my laptop? I don't have a DVD? is there way to re - install these games?

If these are the games that come with Vista, then you should be able to get them back by going to Control Panel / programs and features.
Then click on "Turn Windows Features on and out"
Expand the games section and select the games you want to be active again.

  • Lost windows vista cd that came with the laptop

    Hey guys,.

I own a t500 and I lost my cd of windows vista that came with it. I had planned to reformat my computer. What are my options to get a new copy of this cd? and lets say I wanted to upgrade to windows xp or 7, so which version should I?

Thanks a ton guys, I appreciate it.

Microsoft's XP cd won't work, unless it's a XP OEM disc (that microsoft not distribute themselves). Also, you would need XP series No. to activate the XP operating system which you do not have.

Try to call Lenovo and they can send it to you for free, as long as you have the remaining warranty.

Your relocation was made of a set of recovery discs Dell - which uses a key to Dell and cannot be enabled on any other brand.

It's a Dixons computer odf, then I suspec that the COA sticker on the case is for XP Home edition, while the installation is Pro.

You need to return to this system to its licensed version of Windows by using the recovery media for that PC - or a good disc XP Home OEM System Builder.

If necessary you can make the recovery discs from the recovery hard disk partition, if you always want to reinstall vista new

Create a set of recovery disks operating system

HP Recovery Manager to create a personal set of recovery disks. When you select the recovery disc creation process, the HP Recovery Manager examines the PC and determines how many virgins DVD discs will be necessary. According to the model, you will need up to ten or more CD - R or CD-R, or up to three discs DVD-R or DVD + R. The creation process can take up to an hour or more. Do not interrupt the process of creation.
CAUTION:  Disks must be CD - R, DVD - R or DVD + r using No CD-R/W or DVD - R/W drives read/write because the creation process will fail.
Create a set of recovery disks operating system by following the steps below.
    1. Click Start and enter the recovery in the field of research. Select Recovery Manager in the list to open the HP Recovery Manager window. Allow the action to proceed, if you are prompted.
Alternatively, click Start , all programs , Recovery Manager , and then Recovery Manager . Allow the action to proceed, if you are prompted.
    2. Click Advanced options , the creation of recovery disks , and then click Next .
The program appears to pause for about ten minutes while it examines the computer and calculates how many DVD-R or DVD + R discs are required.
    3. When you are prompted, put a blank disc in the optical disc drive and follow the on-screen instructions to create the recovery disks.
After all, the recovery disks are created, label the disks and store them in a safe place.
NOTE:  If the recovery disks fail when creating or damaged, you can order replacement of HP recovery disks.

  • Tecra A9 came with Vista and XP, the disks - but can not activate XP

    Hello

I have a Tecra A9, it came with Vista Business pre-installed and on a recovery disk. It also came with a XP Recovery disk.

Part of the documentation in the box suggests that I should be able to simply install XP from the recovery disc. I tried this, but I can't activate XP. I called the number of Microsoft on the activation screens and entered all the numbers, but I then told me that there is an error and I should change my product key.

My laptop on a a Vista product key stuck on the bottom. So, I seems to be a little stuck.

The sheet that was in the box says:

"it's additionall equipped with a Windows XP Professional Recovery DVD - ROM that allows you to easily install this operating system on your own. To do this, follow the instructions on the packaging of the DVD of restoration"

Usefully, there is no instructions on the packaging of recovery DVDs, I expected maybe a XP product key or something... But clearly not.

    How should I proceed?

    Thank you

    Hello

Sorry, but I'm a little confused. As much as I know Toshiba recovery image should not be enabled and if you please be so kind and explains what exactly happens when you try to use recovery media?

On what stage you must enter the product key?

I have recently upgraded to Windows 10.  For various reasons, I had to reset my PC and lost all the Applications of software that came with the laptop.  Is there anyway I can recover some or all of these applications and run them on Windows 10?

    Hello

I can't find "HP Pavilion dv6-7013n" anywhere, but it can be very similar to the following machine:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c03331719

There are a lot of elements in the list, you can search and download EXCEPT Microsoft Office Starter. 10 Windows will remove it not compatible and you won't be able to re-intall of any source.

Please note: all are compatible with Windows 10.

    Kind regards.
