Hello

See if that helps you.

Do a Safe Mode system restore to before the problem started.

If it doesn't, try a startup repair and / or a system restore using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft

Manufacturers recovery disks normally do not have Service Options; they are normally a relocation to the factory only settings option.

Here is the guide to repair Options using a Vista DVD from Microsoft.

If a friend or a work acquantance of yours has one, you can borrow and use it for repairs.

  1. Overview of Windows Vista repair options
  2. How to perform an automatic repair of Windows Vista using Startup Repair

  4. Conclusion

If you do not or can not borrow a Microsoft DVD there is a download of a file ISO of Vista Startup Repair available that you can put on a Bootable floppy to make the above startup repair and that the method is recommended by a large number of posters in these Forums.

Unfortunately, you have to buy it.

Here is a link to it:

  • Vista SP2 x 64 install error "0xc0190036 517/97646 (explorer.exe)" _

I'm trying the upgrade of vista x 64 sp1 to vista sp2 x 64. When the system tries to restart, it crashes with the error "0xc0190036 517/97646 (explorer.exe). I have to hard start and do a restore.
I tried several suggestions over a period of 3 days. One of the suggestions was to run chkdsk.  This is the error I get when I run chkdsk: "explorer.exe entry index in the index file 35 $I30 are incorrect."  If I run chkdsk /f it says it removes the entry and then explorer.exe is an orphan.  When I reboot and running chkdsk /f even once, I get the same messages.
Is the vista sp2 x 64 install error and the error from chkdsk associated.  What should I do?

  • Unable to start the computer after the installation of Windows updates

original title: same problem with the other oddities.

I also have a computer down the update.  Although I tried several times to start the computer from the installation CD re, when I get to the page where I have options to fix or exit, locks from my computer to the top and will go no further.  Suggestions how to get the computer to boot the CD and allow me to choose the repair option without locking up?  Thank you!

I finally managed to get the reinstallation CD to load.  I also spoke with telephone tech support at Microsoft who helped me to descend KB977165 my system.  After that was removed the computer booted without error.  By MS tech, I am also running the anti-virals and malicious programs to see if they detect all the other infections.

Originally, the CD would load to the point of being able to choose between the options: continue to fix or exit.  At this point, the computer froze upwards and would not all repairs in order to remove KB977165.  Microsoft launches a call again tomorrow in order to install safety free bug so far.

    Thanks for your reply.

  • No start menu, icons... Explorer.exe problem... can't fix it somehow, it seems! :/

I tried to reset my computer to make it faster... backed up all the files. went to put the CD in but not implemented the menu came when I rebooted? so I watched that I needed to uninstall SP3 cos the CD was service Pack1, so I did, it went well. While the CD is still working so I found that I now had service pack 2, I was able to remove easier with "run" in service pack 3 then I uninstalled the 2 files I found on a website. Restarted then went 2 log on my account and now the error of normalidz.dll rises... I can obviously get on Task Manager, which I tried to launch explorer.exe but he just said that he could not be found. I tried to restore to the last known good configuration and safe mode and there has been no luck there. :/ so yes... any guy of ideas? Please, I beg you! ? :(je tiens que le CD travaillerait maintenant mais nope.) any help would be grateful! Thanks :)

I found another solution on another site that suggested I have the file normalitz.dll get off my other computer and copy it to C: > Windows > System32 which solved the problem.

I can't the system to start.  I haven't added hardware or software.  I think that the computer has restarted after downloading some updates, but I can't to start or restore system. What can I do?

Yes, I can get to this screen.  After you have clicked on enter, it looks like this:

    SET UP WINDOWS

    __________________

downstairs "SET UP IS LOADING FILES (*)...

Then it turns down in "SET UP START WINDOWS"

Then, it goes straight to the BSOD.

I tried several times and he always goes for the BSOD.

In the menu Setup, I ran a hard drive diagnostic and it showed this:

"RUNNING HARD DRIVE DIAGNOSTICS, PLEASE WAIT...

    DRIVE 0: ST3320620AS

IN CASE OF FAILURE.  RETURN CODE: 7

Is this to say that the HD is shot?

Your hard drive may or may not be at fault. Error code 7 could mean just corrupted hard disk controllers. This could also be the reason for the bsod.

Enter your bios and follow the instructions below.

    1. start-up (Dell logo), press F2 to enter the BIOS

    2. expand the section "readers".

    3. go in "SATA Operation."

4 change that "RAID Auto/AHCI" to "RAID Auto / ATA.

Furthermore, if your bios does not have this option simply switch from SATA IDE mode.

  • Error CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED in a blue screen; Unable to start the computer in Mode safe.

Original title: Critics of the process is dead

    Hello

Yesterday, my Acer Aspire given bsod with the critical error process is dead.  I am on Windows 8 and cannot enter the old f8 for safe mode to fix.
I don't have a disc of Windows 8, I downloaded Microsoft 8.  Acer not supplied with Windows 7 preinstalled, so once again no disc.  Microsoft when I asked how do to access safe mode tried to charge me $ 99 more taxes to do this.
Does anyone know how to access the mode without failure under Windows 8 in does not?
    Thank you

I usually access SafeMode in this way. Go to made CMD.exe right click and run as administrator. Then type msconfig. When it opens, go to start at the top and then click safe mode. You might be able to do this if you are able to get an installation media for windows8. There is a command-line option when you go to fix your computer. You might be able to do it here because you cannot start windows.

  • After downloading a Uniblue program to speed up my computer, I am unable to start my computer normally, I can't move from safe mode

I downloaded a program to speed up my older computer, the name of the program is Uniblue Power Suite 2011 German society of Cologne.  The program is listed as Microsoft Partner and have been on the Microsoft web site at least I thought.

Because I'm in safe mode, I can't get windows security to work.

Any help me get out of Safe Mode would be appreciated.

    Hi Apple,

You can try to boot from your Installation of Windows Vista disc and try to do a restore to system restore point before you installed Uniblue and check what is happening.
