Unable to upgrade to Yosemite 10.10.5

Currently I have OS X 10.9.5 and tried the update to OS X Yosemite 10.10.5 but after starting the upgrade process, I get a warning message: "this update requires OS X version 10.10." I looked to 10.10, but nothing helped. Any suggestion? I don't want to upgrade to El Capitan, I prefer Yosemite because of all the comments, pro & con, I've seen. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

If you have previously obtained Yosemite from the Mac App Store, open a session in there with the same Apple ID and click the purchases tab. If this is not the case, go to a physical store of Apple and ask.

N ° so you have a backup if something goes wrong you can return to Yosemite.

Since the upgrade to Yosemite my iMac has a very 'glitch '... screen Pixels flashing on the screen, all strange pixel following the mouse etc...

When I boot in SafeMode the problem disappeared, so I guess that this excludes a graphics card problem. I had a reading and most other posts someone has suggested to run a script to determine the cause of the error. I did, but I know know how to decipher the output.

  • iMac 10.8.5 OS 4 GB memory end of 2009 edition upgrade using Yosemite

    We have

What is the exact error message? I'm guessing it's to tell you that your hard drive is too full. If this is the case, you will need to delete the files from your hard drive to make enough free space.

  • I lost about 60% of my photos when I upgraded to Yosemite

My upgrade to Yosemite was a nightmare.  I lost the Dropbox link in my Finder reel and it is now relegated to a bookmark. The pictures that were in my IPhoto album have not all transfers to 'Photos '.  I had spent a lot of time to organize them into albums, and now all I get is individual photos.  When I click on Finder now, pictures do not even comes up?  All I get is "All Files", which is ridiculous to try to go through.  I was forced to upgrade because of my Quicken account.  Now I regret it.

    Restore your backup.

Use Quicken 2007 for Mac which is available for $15 the support of Intuit Chat feature.  It will run in Snow Leopard by El Capitan.  If you have further questions about Quicken, let me know.

If you feel you still need to upgrade to Yosemite, after doing your backup, restore, partition your drive using disk utility and the installation of Yosemite in the new partition and DO NOT migrate your data over to Yosemite.

Use the dual-boot method to determine what flavor of Mac OS X to start and run and use Yosemite when you want to use Quicken and manually install Quicken and its data file on the partition of Yosemite.

  • Upgrade to Yosemite 10.10.5

I have an ook of MCB 2012 Pro works on OS Lion 10.7.5. I want to upgrade to Yosemite 10.10.5. I'm hesitant to upgrade because I don't want to lose my photos, links, documents folders in my bookmarks, etc. What I'd be aware of because I do this approach?

Unless you've downloaded the installer of Yosemite, it is no longer available. You shouldn't lose any data, but make a backup, best 2 separated on 2 discs.

  • XPS 13 (9343) - unable to upgrade to Windows 10 - error 0xC1900101 0 x 30018

I have a brand new 13 XPS, 9343 model with i7 processor and 512 GB SSD. I'm still within the period of 14 days, and I'm now seriously returning. I've never known such a load of nonsense trying to install any other piece of software.

So far, and after many attempts, I was completely unable to upgrade to Windows 10. The first thing I did was to install all the Windows updates available for 8.1 (there were 79 of them), and immediately after that I started the saga to install Win10. Nothing else has been done to the laptop - no questionable software or USB devices (except the USB boot if necessary). It is in a State of cleanliness.

-After the download via Windows Update, the installation procedure is INCREDIBLY slow (for example, it takes 36 HOURS to reach 42% completion - and at this point, it hits the error message). What the heck can he do?

-J' also tried to create a bootable USB drive via the media creation tool. If I boot from the USB key and perform a "clean" installation, it works perfectly: it takes about 8 minutes total (which highlights how ridiculous the 36 hours). However, because it is a clean installation and not an 'upgrade', I find myself with a non-activated version of Windows 10 and I am asked to pay £99.99, I don't intend to do. I paid for the laptop on the understanding, he would get a FREE upgrade to Win10!

-J' also tried using the USB key (but not the start of it) to perform the upgrade in place - this strikes the same mistake as Windows Update (and taking so long)

-J' tried to uninstall all antivirus software, and disable all wireless/bluetooth devices before performing the upgrade - nothing of this aid. Because need me 36 HOURS per attempt, it is really not acceptable to try disabling things randomly in the vain hope that it might work correctly.

When trying to upgrade (i.e. not), I hit an error message "Windows Setup cannot set up Windows on your hardware" or similar. During the recovery after the failure, tool configuration gives the 0xC1900101 error code 0 x 30018 and says it failed in operation 'FIRST_BOOT', the phase SYSPREP. Just make this error message cost me 36 hours of waiting (welcome to the future!), then it would be really helpful if someone could give me a definitive answer on what makes...

    Help, please! Auuughhh

    Hello world

  • Failed to open session in Windows 7 'could not load user profile.', in VMware Fusion 7.0 after upgrade to Yosemite

I upgraded my Mac Pro in OS X Yosemite 10.10. Before the upgrade, I did a normal shutdown of Windows and VMware Fusion 7.0.0. I also checked first for updates from VMware and was up to date.  After completing the upgrade, I restarted VMware and subsequently started to Windows. Shortly after entering the password to logon to Windows, I received the following error message "the service user profile Service has no logon. The user profile cannot be loaded. "My only option is to click OK, then it seems to re-start Windows, but I'm stuck with this result every time. I restarted the Mac with no variation in the result. Before the upgrade to Yosemite, I have not had any problems. Any help is appreciated.  Thank you.

I found my answer for someone who is interested.  This isn't a Yosemite or VMware problem.  That's all just a fault which occurred during logon more likely an anti-virus on Windows running in the background.  There is a fairly simple solution be found on the Microsoft support site, http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947215

I am once again running without any problem.
