  The Mac doesn't work this way. The material is not registered to any particular Apple ID.   Before you begin, note that the FAT32 file system has size limitations. You cannot create a FAT32 partition greater than 32 gigabytes (GB). In addition, you cannot store a file greater than 4 GB on a FAT32 partition. If the partition you want to format is larger than 32 GB, NTFS format may be a better option.

  Be careful of the differences between an SSD and HDD in that regard. SSD drives have limited write cycles and how they assign data differs so conventional means to wipe a HARD drive do not work correctly for one SSD and should not be made.

I can say that my machines are clean installations of Windows much more frequently sometimes up to 5 per day according to the question if I do a test or a style guide.   'Standard' OS X file system is not case sensitive. Although you can use upper and lowercase in a filename to the extent where the system is concerned 'Filename' and 'filename' are the same. So if you try to copy files with the same name regardless of the case so the copy will result in a dialog box asking if you want to replace a file of the same name.

  I guess in your case, your disks have been formatted with case-sensitive file system, and you should generally refrain from using a file system case-insensitive with OS X.

  I guess that you'e using disk utility to do the formatting? Your problem seems curiou, this looks like a problem, I used to have with 32 - bit systems, but since your Mac Mini is a 64-bit computer, this should be irrelevant. Maybe El Capitan can simply not fomt a player as such.

  Out of curiosity, have you tried to format the drive Seagate on another machine but also your box Seagate does support a USB 3.0? It is much faster than FireWire, it will be better fair access to juice a big drive.
