  • Cannot uninstall the Client Services for Netware on Win XP sp3.

Try to restore the screen of welcome on Windows XP sp3. Not connected to the server netware in any way. Client for Netware only qualified auto service and only option is to start. When trying to start the service says that the system cannot find the specified file. Client for Netware is NOT listed under properties of the connection to the Local network either, so it is impossible to uninstall this way. Any suggestions?

might be interesting to try the following, go to control panel, click internet connections, your internet connection make a right-click, and then click the Properties tab, it should open this connection uses the following items box.

If you see no client services for netware in this box, lock underneath you should see two tabs (installation) and (uninstall)

the trick is to reinstall it first and then uninstall it later.    Click the install it should open another box box should be the client services for netware and Songbird for microsoft, highlight the client service for netware, and then click on install let the computer install it and restart the computer, then go back in to the Control Panel on the internet, and click connections right properties, once the box opens again it should now have the client service for netware inside now just uninstall highlight and click on uninstall, let the computer uninstall, then restart your computer again, click on Control Panel and use click on modify use way connect you now the home screen should be on.

  • desktop computer takes a long time to load after uninstall of netware

Dear Pascal, recently, by chance, I installed the client service for Netware on my PC. He asked to restart the computer, and after reboot, logon screens became classic. I uninstalled netware by accessing the properties of LAN. I managed to restore logon screens using Microsoft resources available on the net. However, my PC now takes * for long time for the desktop icons and toolbar are displayed. I use Microsoft Windows XP Version 2002 SP3, Intel Core2Duo processor P8600 @2.40 Ghz with 2 GB of RAM on Lenovo Thinkpad R400. I understand that it is after uninstalling the netware client that my office is very very slow. Help me for a faster loading of the desktop computer. Best regards, Reba Shankar

    Hey Reba,

    Thanks for choosing Microsoft Community!

You have reached the right forum. Try to solve this problem.

If I understand correctly, you have some performance issues on windows XP computer.

Let us try the following steps:

Method 1: Any installed program must be uninstalled from Add and remove programs. You can just remove shortcuts from other places like LAN properties.

Run the following fix - it to uninstall client services for Netware.

Solve problems with programs that cannot be installed or uninstalled:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/mats/program_install_and_uninstall

Method 2: See the following article:

How to make a computer faster: 6 ways to speed up your PC:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/atwork/maintenance/speed.aspx#fBid=uQRRD6ZPxkC

    Important notes:

    ·         Running chkdsk on the drive if bad sectors are found on the disk hard when chkdsk attempts to repair this area if all available on which data can be lost.

    ·         The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.

Hope the helps of information. Don't answer if you need assistance, we will be happy to help you.

  • I'm trying to uninstall a printer from my computer, but the feature uninstal fails to do so. The error message is 5004:Ox7E

My operating system is Windows XP

The printer is a Brother 2035

I also tried the uninstal brother tool but it also fails to remove the software from my computer.

I already deleted the printer, so I can't reconect, which I believe can casue a problem when you try to uninstall?

The above mentioned error message can mean there is a problem with my system?

Everyone knows about this problem? and they were able to find a method to uninstall/remove all files to their printer?

    Thank you very much

    Peter

This error seems to be related with InstallShield.  I did not experience myself, but see this page--> http://www.techspot.com/community/topics/installshield-error-5004-0x80070005.61658/

I would like to start with the 'solution' down - rename the folder InstallShield/Professional.

If all else fails, I suggest you to contact brother support and/or support Flexera Software (unfortunately, there is nothing in the Flexera KnowledgeBase on 5004 with argument 0x7e error and their 'community forum' is not functional at the moment).

To get into Safe Mode, press F8 immediately after the restart.  If you get the Windows logo, you waited too long to start typing.  What you're looking for is white on black 'Advanced Boot Menu Options'.  When you see that, using the arrows (mouse doesn't work here) to select Safe Mode, and then press ENTER.

Reboot will automatically return to normal mode.
