  • Completely uninstall Adobe Application Manager

I installed Adobe Application Manager mistakenly last night because I thought that it was necessary to make it easier to update my current v10 of Adobe Reader and my other Adobe products (AIR, Flash, Photoshop and elements of Prime Minister). How stupid of me not to do my research FIRST! Now I can't get rid of the cursed thing. It will not be displayed in the list in the control panel so that I can remove Windows programs and features program it that way and all simply instructions to completely remove the AAM which are given on the website do not work as I have NONE of the applications listed in the AAM, which allegedly will remove AAM If they are uninstalled.

First of all, let me say that my instructions prior to remove the AAM are only partially correct. These instructions remove only the creative part of AAM cloud and should really only be used if you run AAM difficulties with your subscription to creative cloud.

If you use most of the products Adobe then MAO is installed, and is required for the product to run properly. AAM is used for the creative cloud and is also used for a perpetual license (when you enter a serial number). AAM also handles update your installed products.

So yes, AAM is installed with Photoshop Elements and PremierePro.

For customers who try a mixture of perpetual license (for example using a serial number with the Master Collection or simply Photoshop) and then try a trial or paid creative cloud subscription, you might see AAM you indicating that a product is not installed when it is. It is a known problem.

So please do not try and remove the AAM from your system if you are using Adobe products. You may cause the perpetual license or subscription to stop working, and you will not receive updates.

  • Uninstall Adobe Application Manager

I did a search and found a thread that goes back to September 22, 2012.  Ken G. Rice (personal) responded to Wet ~ Look, but what he recommended did not work at all!  I'm not a happy camper (well, I guess it's me and all the other Adobe users who are feeling really frustrated and cheated, passing through all other positions).  I think Adobe is very misleading.  I hope that some members of the staff responds, but I think to send a message to Ken G. Rice (in case he is still there).

I would like to hear from someone else who has had this problem and was able to REALLY solve.  Thank you!

  • Adobe Application Manager installed 20/05/2013 without Permission

Of course, there are other threads on Adobe Application Manager (AAM) and many unhappy customers.  Yet the saga continues?

My apologies if this question seems redundant to you, but reading through the existing threads I find conflicting messages, the lack of information as to why the MAA is necessary and some apparent problems after using the cleaning tool Creative Suite to remove "Installer of creative cloud".  I'm not looking forward to my PC having problems.  So I'd be thankful some answers straight forward please, so I am well informed and can make the right decision for me!

My o/s; Win 7 64 bit Home Premium

    Adobe products installed:

Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard (installed Sept 2008)

Photoshop Elements (installed in January 2013) 11

First items 11 (installed in January 2013)

    Adobe Flash Player 11

That's all I need and I didn't ask for all applications of "creative cloud." nor do I intend to do.  So why after all this time Adobe installed on my PC AAM - may 2013 (I see messages about this back in 2012)? I received updates very well.  Has been notified of new updates this week, normally accept (nothing noting something extra) and low and behold there is a new "Adobe Application Manager" program, which took forever to launch after the fact only to eventually introduce a login screen.  God knows what he was doing in the background... and it better NOT have been installing the evaluation version!

I spoke with a representative of Adobe C/S.  He told me that this is how Adobe has chosen to distribute the updates now and in the future.  Despite my distress and the desire to uninstall it, he took the trouble to introduce me to the cleaning tool until I mentioned to see it here in the forums.  Then he pretty much abandoned my concerns with nothing else to do for me.  Who does Adobe think of their customers?

    My Questions:

    (1) is AAM required to receive updates that I used to receive for the applications that I installed?

    (2) not "Creative Suite Cleaner tool" completely uninstall "Adobe Application Manager" by choosing "Creative Cloud Installer"?

    (3) Will Adobe sneak this MAO on my PC again during future updates after installation?

    (4) my Adobe apps is regarded as 'CC' applications uninstall before removing the "Creative Cloud Installer?

lack of information as to why the MAA is necessary

This is the program that adobe uses to give users their updates/upgrades of our days. It is therefore very important to have this working properly.

You need the Application Manager, you can't get around it (as I know). And no, new trial software does NOT automatically get installed. Adobe has not yet addressed this bass. (But they can if they want... parts just reading the EULA)

11.4 the software may automatically download and install updates from Adobe. These updates are designed to improve and develop the Services and may take the form of bug fixes, enhanced functions, new software modules and completely new versions. As part of your use of the Services, you agree to receive such updates (and permit Adobe to deliver to you, with or without your consent).

    Your questions:

    (1) Yes, very necessary. Do NOT uninstall it.

    (2) no idea. But I recommend to use it.

    (3) Yes, because this is the app that will update all your programs when there are updates available.

    (4) I'm not quite sure what you mean. But if you have not done anything yet, you should be fine as is. Don't worry the MAO.

Rename the OOBE folder and try to install the upgrade.

Uninstall Adobe Application Manager and try to install the upgrade.

Hello Atul and thanks for responding.  Adobe support seems a little disjointed because I offered this solution through several cats and now this forum.  Ultimately what worked for me was adjusting the permissions of read/write on the Application Support folder.

    1. open Macintosh HD

    2. open a library

    3. Select the Application Support folder.

3 right-click and select information.  -Pop-up is displayed.

    4. click on the padlock on the bottom right pop to unlock (user will have to enter the admin password)

    5. last section, under sharing & permissions, ensure that the administrator and the user tries to install "writing &" can.

    6. for the administrator and user, click options in the lower part (looks like a gear) and choose "apply to the elements included...". »

    Retry installation...

Thanks to DJ in support to solve this problem for me!

I managed to uninstall my acrobat pro, but my adobe application manager seems to think that I still have it. I do not see how to download it from adobe and re install. Can anyone help? I spent many hours trying to get my creative cloud version to run after the license of first years has failed. It was a bit of a nightmare and sie Adobe is not easy to get help from.

I spent a few hours trying to untangle a redemption code. I dropped so uninstalled acrobat, because he is no longer works apparently.  I managed to find out how to buy a new redemption code for creative cloud through the Institute where I exposed, but now I can't get a download for my acrobat, one that will work on my macbook pro 2010 running 10.6.8

Navigation in the adobe site was not easy and not very impressed in terms of achieving support for the problems and responses so far. Only no reply emails usually that means logging in time and time again.
