Unknown network controller
Only, I reformatted my HP laptop. Unfortunaly I did not write the driver information is now unable to connect to my wireless router. Actually my laptop does not recognize wireless networks.
Device Manager indicates an unknown device, called network controller,

Portege Z830 network controller driver needed
I just bought a Z830 for testing and it looks like a sweet feature.
I finished an own x 64 Win7 install and downloaded and installed each of the executables driver available.
After all this, Win7 Device Manager shows an unknown network controller who suggests that I might be missing some drivers.I used the installers listed below; does anyone know if there could be any other drivers that are missing?

I tried to re - run the Intel LAN drivers and installed the drivers from Intel's Intel HM65 chipset. No joy of course... any ideas greatly appreciated.

You need the driver LAN or Wlan driver.
I ve no idea which driver you have already installed but mentioned drivers is necessary.
I recommend that you check the unknown device by using this statement of troubleshooting:
http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/Ann.jspa?annID=78This will tell you the name of the controller, and I think that should be enough to get the right driver.

Unknown and peripheral network controller PCI

I recntly bought a HP Pavilion G6 2006AX and upgrade e OS Windows 7 Professional 64 bit. Everything is installed correctly, and I have found all the drivers, excepet for the network controller and the PCI device. I downloaded all the drivers from the HP site for my model, but none of these work.
Any help would be great.

Hi, in my lenovo G450 - with Chipset Intel - 3 GB of RAM (no external graphics card),
I see an unknown device with question mark on device Manager, under Win XP. Further clicking on properties of the device tell me that--

Manufacturer: unknown
Location: On Microsoft ACPI - controller embedded compatible.
I installed all the drivers and that you have not installed the external devices such as USB etc.
I don't get what device it could be.
Network controller shows also with question mark, even after installing Broadcom Ethernet Driver for XP.
Kindly help me what to do?
Is there any order, where we need to install the drivers.
Re-install the drivers ethernet and power management.

HP2000 - 2c29nr laptop, downgraded to windows 7, and now I can't connect to the internet. There are now 4 that unrecognized devices. To install the smbus controller, proceed as follows:
For the SMBus Controller... Here's what I did... I have zipped and attached below in attachments, the raw smbus controller driver files to decompress and install manually. It should work without any drama.
Download and unzip the file.
Go to Device Manager and click the controller smbus needing drivers. Click the driver tab. Click on set to update driver.
Select her browse my computer for driver software option and navigate to the driver folder that you unzipped.
Make sure that the include subfolders is selected and the driver should install. Then restart.

I just bought a HP latptop and I re - format and installed the Windows 7 Pro 64-bit to 32-bit operating system. After that the new OS has started normally, I can't load all the driver even I have download from the HP Web site. Is - this model does support Windows 7 Pro 32 bit? You should be able to run W7 32-bit on your model, but it won't be easy to find the drivers.
First, install the Intel chipset driver and restart.
Then, install the Intel HD graphics driver and restart.
Then install the reboot and the graphics driver nVidia.

I can also find all the drivers for XP, Vista32bit, and Vista 64-bit.The unknown device may be the wireless LAN card and not the normal LAN card. Did you check that?
