unknown plugins

Why all the Google and Microsoft "plug-ins" remains unknown to 23 all versions of Mozilla Firefox and how many versions longer it will be before Mozilla 'knows' on Google and Microsoft. I mean come on guys it looks really stupid just dump the user of a search engine whenever we try to research why the hell Firefox find plugins these company to be 'unknown '. You don't think that maybe these two should be on top of your priority list? After that your default home page seems to be familiar with Google. His persistent user 'broken' experience as what makes really beginners lose all faith in the software... and frankly, Google and Microsoft are every bit as mistaken in this regard. When this function is not get called a bug because of course, it behaves like a bug.

Google has a built-in update (that runs at startup) with its 'programs Plugin, if Mozilla is not necessary to deal with the compatibility of the versions of Google. Windows Media Player does not expose its ' version number in a way that is easily discoverable online via the Plugin Check page. In addition, Mozilla's going under the assumption that the user has automatic updates enabled in Windows, as it is the default setting in Windows.

Overall, Mozilla is more worried about its ' users the most frequent and most of the usable Plugins are updated; Flash, Java, RealPlayer and a few others.

  • Business of Foxit for Mozilla Plugin cannot update

    When I try to open a file http://www. ... xyz.pdf in Firefox 17.0.1, message "this plugin is vulnerable and must be updated. See (here) for updates. Click here (anywhere on the screen) to activate the Foxit PhantomPDF for Mozilla plugin. »

    When I go on the site which has so-called links to the updates, it takes me to the Mozilla plugin check page. On this page, to the right of 'Foxit business Plugin for Mozilla' it says 'unknown plugin. If I choose the option "search", it opens Google search on the subject of Foxit. The link above leads me to a FAQ from Foxit page that does not seem to answer my question. It is linked to an offer for a 'trial' Foxit Reader PhantomPDF version, but I already have a version under license, although the licensed version does not specifically say that he understands the plugin for Mozilla.

    I've tried using the Firefox|Options|Applications to keep Firefox from opening "Foxit PhantomPDF Plugin for Mozilla" and instead to use Adobe Acrobat 8.0 for opening Adobe Acrobat 7.0 documents. Selecting Acrobat 8.0 or selecting "Always ask," (for all of the three Acrobat 7 items) doesn't stop Firefox from insisting on opening "Foxit PhantomPDF Plugin for Mozilla" I have tried disabling the plug-in "Foxit PhantomPDF Plugin for Mozilla", but Firefox still insists on using it.

    BTW I lance Firefox on another machine WinXP SR - 3 who is NOT a licensed copy of Foxit Phantom, then open pdf with Adobe Acrobat Reader documents on Internet. I was unable to get Adobe Acrobat Reader to install on my main machine, perhaps because she believes that the presence of the version of Acrobat 8.0 license makes the drive useless.

    I tried the manual disabler via "subject: config ' and went to:
    C:\Program Files\Mozilla plugins
    and renamed the file with triple x to this:
    XXXnpFoxitReaderPlugin.dll
    But FireFox continues to insist on the use of Foxit Phantom Reader for Firefox

    I do not know the nature of the vulnerability of plugin, but I would avoid any possible vulnerabilities. How do I kill the 'Foxit business Plugin for Mozilla' or where can I find a compatible update?

    Thanks in advance.

    Thank you... that worked... I don't know if the PDF was or was not an option when I looked before, but he was here this time, and by selecting Adobe to address, files now open smoothly.

  • [SOLVED] Web Forms - works on IE and Chrome, firefox, said that missing the plugin

    Greetings,

    It works perfectly in IE and Chrome I opened client Gin through the same URL, ex: http://10.0.0.28:7778/forms/frmservlet? config = gin4

    However, if I try the same URL in firefox it shows a large gray square on the page with the message "click here to download the Plugin.

    Clicking on install opens a small popup saying no appropriate plugins have been found, it is said to the inside and unknown Plugin (text/html) and a button to install manually is displayed.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Best regards
    Igor Carrasco

    Igor Carrasco says:
    Also in the article you gave me it pretends that would work any higher version

    This applies only when you use the dynamic as versions mentioned in the above article that you don't not firerfox as far as I can tell from the basexyz.htm that you posted.

    Bascally there are 2 parameters that are used by browsers to check the version: jpi_classid and jpi_mimetype. jpi_codebase and jpi_download_page are used to provide information to download the plugins only appropriate in the correct versions.

    The jpi_classid and jpi_codebase parameters are used by Internet Explorer (and as it seems too much chrome); jpi_mimetype and jpi_download_page are used by browsers like firefox mozilla based.

    You have specified

    jpi_classid=CAFEEFAC-0014-0002-0006-ABCDEFFEDCBA

    so that means you want to use 1.4.2_06 with internet explore. IE is a bit lazy in this regard (as far as I know) and uses specified version or any higher if you have installed everything (beginning just your forms app and take a look in the java console which version you use).

    the specified MIME type is

    jpi_mimetype=application/x-java-applet;jpi-version=1.4.2_06

    Now, firefox works as expected and requires the exact version: 1.4.2_06. The firefox version recognizes your side 1.6.0_20 which is not the version would be asked at all.

    As mentioned in the article, you can use dynamic versioning to specify at least one major version that should be used:

    jpi_mimetype=application/x-java-applet;jpi-version=1.6.0

    would mean you can use any Plugin Java 1.6.0 (from 1.6.0_01 to 1.6.0_21)

    If you for example use a any version of the YPI you could simply do

    jpi_mimetype=application/x-java-applet

    to run it with any installed YPI (from 1.4.x to 1.6.x)

    see you soon

  • Online tool segment intermittently in error "the plugin cannot complete due to an unknown error"

    It is a very weird question. All of a sudden the line segment tool will not work. I'll use the tool once, but on the second line segment that I try to draw, "the plugin cannot complete due to an unknown error" error. I have to save my file, close it and reopen it before she (maybe) will allow me to draw a line (and repeat ad nauseam). In addition, the lines that you create cannot be resized - resize handles do not work, only the rotation handles appear. So I can rotate and reposition the lines, but I can't do more or less long. However, this is only on the creation of the lines that the error. I have not found the error to do anything in Illustrator - still.

    I use Windows 7 64-bit with the latest version of Illustrator CC 64-bit. I've updated my video drivers (Nvidia GT 640). I uninstalled Illustrator and let her remove all preferences, but on reinstall it is doing the same things. I scanned for viruses and malware. Google searches do not find this specific error - similar mistakes to "filter" instead of "plugin" have been troubleshooting performed, but not completely resolved. I'm not even sure this plugin is to be mentioned here - is not the line segment tool sort of a built-in function of the program, not a plugin?

    the Adobe technical support:

    Thanks for the info,

    The problem has been resolved. In the next version, you won't have this problem.

  • Plugin missing dead-end

    I get a message from plugin missing on Udemy site when you try to view PDF conferences, videos play without incident. There is no link available for the missing plugin or even any information on what it can be. I installed the latest version of flash and have no addon adblock running.

    https://www.Udemy.com/unitycourse/#/lecture/1632752

    I opened the page. I saw a flash player on top (not play)
    but the layout does not match your clip. were you logged?

    Use this link to make sure your plugins are up-to-date.
    If all are listed as unknown or research, don't worry to their topic.

  • Help me understand what to do when I "search" for a plugin that you have not identified as up-to-date

    I have a number of plugins 'unknown '. ("Google Update" is unknown? (Seriously?) Anyway, when I click on the '? Search button", I get a long list of confusing links. Some appear to be associated with the update to the plugin, but can go back up to 2008. I don't have time to watch all of these links to find who will tell me if my current plugin is up to date. Are you suggesting that I do? Is there an easier way?

    Here are the plugins I am asked to update: IE Tab plugin (v. 2.2.0.1) [recently installed], iTunes application detector (v. 1.0.1.1), Microsoft Office 2013 (v. 15.0.4703.1000), NPLastPass (v. 3.1.97.0) and Google Update (v. 1.3.28.15). I 'research' Google one and discovered that it updates automatically... Can not Firefox comes to tell me that?

    There is this site: http://www.latest-version-plugin.com/ , which promises 'You will find the current Version of each Plugin for Mozilla Firefox here immediately!'. Can you work with them to synchronize with you and provide the information directly?

    Thanks for listening.

    No matter when you want or need to check updates.
    Go to the website of the real owner of the program in question.
    For example, for Firefox, go to Mozilla.org. {web link}

  • How a plugin to be "known" Firefox?

    In the page to check Add-in, plugin, there are several plugins listed as 'unknown '. For example, Microsoft Office 2013,15.0.4514.1000. It mean that my use of FF is concerned? And how to make FF in the 'know '?

    That should not affect your use of Firefox or affect your safety.

    The Plugin Check was established mainly due to the Adobe Flash and Sun/Oracle Java having so much security reported faults that 'they' ignored for years, that when 'they' have begun to fix the rate of new versions to be monthly or so it became more important to Mozilla in order to attract the attention of their users on the plugins that needed to be updated. If the Plugin Check system was established.
    QuickTime has been a matter of concern, too, as well as other audio plugin programs / video; but less important as 'they' were not as "exploitable" or have not been used for some exploits or anywhere near as often.

    Insofar as those that come as 'unknown', most are not considered a security issue. Although some (especially Microsoft) as Silverlight are not as easily identified through the registry by Firefox. Look at your 'installed Plugins' in the Details of the system... and you will see 5.1.30214.0 - this is the Silverlight plugin. Not enough information discoverable for Firefox it ID in the registry and display it in Firefox, but the Plugin Check page doesn't know what it is.

  • Why Mozilla Firefox is not admit profile bug, about 'plugin is not responding' Shockwave problem?

    I am a long time user, more than 10 years, Firefox and Netscape before that. This is the first time I've ever seen "plugin is not responding", and even less for Shockwave. I followed subject suggested solution. Checked plugins updated and reinstalled several even if they were up-to-date. Even reinstalled Firefox. Performed a full scan of Norton on my system (totally transparent). Finally. On the forum to help ADOBE, not on Mozilla (!), someone said blowing their profile and starting again solved the problem. This is a drastic measure, because it nukes all saved Firefox bookmark and setting. BUT THIS MARKET. Dear Mozilla sneaky: you have a bug in PROFILE. Please, admit it and fix it.

    Of course, first try the less disruptive mechanisms. But if they don't work, as they DID NOT for me:
    (1) rename/move your profile truncated (courtesy of a behaviour Firefox bad unknown or ignored) then that is the road - in other words, actually deleted. You can also simply delete the profile.
    (2) then create a new profile
    (3) Optional: If you have saved the wrong profile, try to send it to Mozilla so that they can find and fix their bug

    To locate the file bad profile, follow the instructions in https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profiles-where-firefox-stores-user-data?redirectlocale=en-US & redirectslug = Profiles

    Note from Moderator: ' Rename/move your profile' is not the same as deleting what you always have access to files in the particular profile of things like bookmarks. In addition, if you want to rename or move your profile and automatically create a new default profile, the file to rename or move is the Firefox folder that contains the file profiles.ini. See article profiles for its location.

  • Why full bloated Java just to a small Firefox plugin?

    Re:
    http://www.Java.com/en/download/FAQ/firefox_newplugin.XML

    simple installation of the firefox 1.6 java plugin fails.

    you get a working version of this tiny plugin as a "reward".
    Once you have installed a version full of Java. but that adds up to more
    70 MB of unknown data required and background running
    services.

    Blackberry converter site is the only one I've used for this
    in any case to key sign my apps.

    is there still some efforts to get the plugin works without c * p?

    It is not serious, that the machine which had Firefox 3.6 should be updated.

    If you try to use a site that requires java, you need Java installed. This isn't the fault of Firefox, it's the fault of the site develop. I don't know what you're asking here.
