Unlimited attempts a button

Using Captivate 6, I inserted a form, used as a button, in a slide of questionnaire. The intention is to create a user click on the button to listen to an audio file and answer the question to screen out based on the audio. I want the user to select the Audio button play an infinite number of times. In the action properties tab, I have the infinite block checked. However, the quiz slide advances automatically after the third selection of the Play Audio button.

What attracts a lot of people out there.

Infinite attempts actually means attempts to infinity.

If you really want this button to be used any number of times without disturbing the timeline. Then you need to set the button to execute the measures put forward and implemented a standard or a conditional Action to play this audio file instead.  These types of actions not automatically re-enable the chronology.

I have a button in my training programme set to unlimited attempts. It allows the user to click twice, and yet he is set to unlimited. What Miss me?

In Captivate, normal interactive objects such as click boxes and buttons of you give a single event, that you can use to perform an action. So their success or failure captions appear only once.

There is an alternative using widgets.  The Infosemantics widget event handler allows you to transform any object into an interactive object so that the click will trigger a criterion of success or failure.  But unlike other interactive objects, there preferences, you can configure it to disable continue (if it by clicking on the object does not release the timeline) and reset the failure of success criteria (so that the user can click on the object and see the legends of feedback or perform the action programmed as many times as they wish).

  • Is it possible to answer a question in a quiz-unlimited page without leaving the quiz page?

    Hello together!

We work with quiz-pages in our Adobe Captivate project. In the menu quiz, we can choose unlimited attempts to answer the question as often as possible. In HTML, if the answer was wrong, there is no way to answer the question once again, without leaving the page, go to the next page and then return to the page of the quiz. Is it possible to answer a question quiz as often as possible without leaving the page?

    Thank you for your support!

    Kind regards

We seem not to understand each other? In Captivate 9, you must verify knowledge slides, which, unlike the normal Question slides never will be added to the score because you can even add a note to these slides. In earlier versions, you had to tweak quiz slides to convert slides to check knowledge simulated by removing their score on the Total score.

  • Defined by the user variable and conditional actions

    Hi all

I use 6 Captivate on a Windows machine and tries to create a scneario where the user try to break the code on a safe. I have an image of a standard numeric keypad 0-9 and an additional 'enter/submit' button and have click boxes assigned to each digit.

What I want to do is allow users to have unlimited attempts to break the 4-digit code and open the safe but I only want them to discover if they are successful or not when they hit the Enter - key, but I hit a brick wall when creating actions in order to identify the correct numbers is entered in the correct order.

As an alternative to this method, is there a way to capture the choice the user four-digit in a variable and then test if the variable resultuing score is correct?

Which makes sense for what I want to achieve?

    Thank you

    Simon

Of course, this can be done by JS, but it is also possible with advanced/shared actions. Since you're the COP6, joint actions are excluded. Here are some old articles that explain the use cases similar to what you want:

  • How to make a slide to wait until the user has answered a question correctly, even after activation of a smartshape?

    Background:

I created a questionnaire in which the user must answer each question correctly before to proceed to the next slide. That's what I did:

    • Set preferences Settings > required > respond to everything - the user must answer each question to continue
    • Set the number of attempts at the level of the question to infinity
    • Made the Next invisible button and disabled the PlayBar

In this way, the user can proceed to the next slide in the issue with the submission process - and, since attempts are endless, this means that after having answered the question correctly.

    Current objective:

I want the user to be able to click on a prompt for a hint. To configure this, I did the following:

    • Created a smartshape titled 'click_for_hint' to display the text that says: "click here for a tip.
    • Created a smartshape labelled 'hint' text display
    • Show "hint" success value "click_for_hint".

Now, when the user clicks on the text that says: "Click here for a hint," the suspicion appears. So it works - great! However, once the indicator is activated, I would like to for the user to continue endless attempts until respondent correctly to the question... and then only after answering correctly, proceed to the next slide.

    The problem:

If the user has submitted one or more wrong answers, and then activates the indicator, the slide just waiting until the user has answered the question correctly. Instead, it will be set in playing, proceeding to the next slide. I tried the smartshape 'hint' to take a break on the success of adjustment, but it does not work.

Is there a way to make the slide to wait until the answer to the question correctly before moving on to the next slide, even after the indicator has been activated?

Are you aware that your required parameter can cause problems, the blocking of the user? It is also completely useless because you have unlimited attempts at the level of the issue and hid the next button (hope, you don't need review, otherwise, I would recommend not to hide this button but slide it under the Clear key: the Question slides in Captivate - Captivate blog)

The index problem is related to the fact that a simple gesture going out of reading. I would like to see the timeline of the slide, to compare the points of suspension form and the question slide button. And maybe this blog can also clarify difference between simple/advanced: Why choose Standard Simple action?-Captivate blog

  • With the help of box click to send an e-mail

I am trying to create a feedback 'button' on the last page of my project. I am using Captivate 5

As I had trouble to create buttons and making them work and present it clearly, I made a form, put the text on it and put a box to click on that. My navigation "buttons" work this way, if in the same project or go to another project.

I chose in the Actions of the Properties section click on box to "send an email to" and in the address field, I entered the email address. However, when the project is published and played from the .swf file, by clicking on the box click does not create an open email (it does absolutely nothing). I don't have a transition, it is available for any length of blade, unlimited attempts, continue to play the slides and all other parameters outside the Action, are the same as the work "buttons" I.

The only thing I can think who might contribute is we use Lotus Notes to our e-mail agent. Which would lead to the setting do not work, or is there another explanation?

    Thanks for any help.

  • Is the 'period' forced by the launch of session course or cumulative?

    With regard to Captivate 5:

    Publication parameters: SCORM 1.2

    Manifesto of setting: time

If I entered at 03:00 (3 hours) deadline, with unlimited attempts allowed, being 3 hours applied to the Session level (cmi.core.session_time) or at the level of the Total (cmi.core.total_time).

Scenario: A user takes 2.5 hours at their first meeting, completed the course and is intructed to resume it.  A week later, they launch the course again resume.  They will know a question after that 30 minutes because their measurement total_time exceeded 3?

Summary: I want to limit to 3 hours to apply to session_time, so that each new attempt to race they have 3 hours to complete, so I hope that the limit does not apply to the total_time.  I asked the LMS vendor if they perform the calculation, and they said it is controlled by Captivate, and not by the LMS.

Once your closed user name the session of SCO, all variables will be lost, unless they are reported as the LMS and stored in its database.

So unless that CMS is followed the total time spent on the SCO, the next time that the user opens that same SCO he won't remember how much time they spent on it.

  • Hide the button Quiz continue until all attempts

    Hello!

I use 8 Captivate and have a quiz that allows 3 attempts failed. It's game to go to a slide if they pass and another if they fail. These work very well using the button continue.

There is a cover and continue button.

However, the shows continue button on the quiz results slide on the first and the second attempt. If the user clicks on this - the quiz is over - no attemtps allowed (no bar reading if it would make a difference).

The instructions show on the failed attempts, "...". If the back button is displayed, click on it, if not, click on continue. »

How to hide the continue button on the first 2 failed attempts?

I was looking for articles and perhaps the answer is here - I'm just not reconstruct the it. I created an if/else statement to access the appropriate slide based on the % of quiz scored, but he then ignores the results of the quiz.

I know that there is a way!

When the quiz on the project is completed, on the results of the quiz slide it has a button to continue to press, but seems no value since it becomes just a black screen when you are finished instead of close the project as you think it should. Any suggestions on how to do that affects the project?

Closing projects only works reliably when the publication in EXE format.  Often Web browser security prevents content windows SWF/HTM being closed in the same way.

Try placing a slide AFTER your quiz slides so that the button continue has a place to go.  Then change your preferences > project > start and end > project end Options > Action close project.  In this way, the project tries to close naturally, only not in a row by clicking a button.  You can do this last slide as short as you want, but a second or more is generally good, just in case you have preferences set to Fade Out on last slide.
