Unlimited Conservation on the flashback data archive

11.2.0.4

The FDA is created with a retention time, in days, months or years.

https://docs.Oracle.com/CD/E11882_01/server.112/e41084/statements_5010.htm#BABIFIBJ

Is there a setting of retention that make conservation unlimited/forever?   Or do you put something like 100 years.

Yes

  • Flashback data archive commit the performance of time - a bug problem?

    Hi all

I use the Oracle 11 g R2 on 64-bit windows environment. I just want to do some tests quue flashback data archive. I created one and add to a table. about 1.8 million records is to exist in this table. Furthermore, this table is one of the examples of oracle, SH. SALEStables. I created another table using the table and insert the same data twice.
    -- not a SH session

    Create Table Sales as select * from sh.sales;

    insert into sales select * from sh.sales;
    Commit;
insert operation takes a few seconds. sometimes, in this code, validation command takes more of * 20 *, sometimes 0 seconds. If validation time is brief after insert, can I update the table and then validate again:
update sales set prod_id = prod_id; -- update with same data
    commit;
update takes a few seconds longer. If the first commit (after integration) has had too little time, second validation, after the update, takes more than 20 minutes. At this time, while that commit were working, my cpu becomes overloaded, 100% charge.

the system that oracle runs on is good for quest staff use, i7 4 real core cpu, 8 GB ram, disk SSD etc.

When I looked at the Business Manager - performance monitoring, I saw this SQL in my sql album list:
    insert /*+ append */ into SYS_MFBA_NHIST_74847  select /*+ leading(r)
             use_nl(v)  PARALLEL(r,DEFAULT) PARALLEL(v,DEFAULT)  */ v.ROWID "RID",
             v.VERSIONS_STARTSCN "STARTSCN",  v.VERSIONS_ENDSCN "ENDSCN",
             v.VERSIONS_XID "XID" ,v.VERSIONS_OPERATION "OPERATION",  v.PROD_ID
             "PROD_ID",  v.CUST_ID "CUST_ID",  v.TIME_ID "TIME_ID",  v.CHANNEL_ID
             "CHANNEL_ID",  v.PROMO_ID "PROMO_ID",  v.QUANTITY_SOLD
             "QUANTITY_SOLD",  v.AMOUNT_SOLD "AMOUNT_SOLD"  from SYS_MFBA_NROW r,
             SYS.SALES versions between SCN :1 and MAXVALUE v where v.ROWID =
             r.rid
This consumes my resources for more than 20 minutes. what I do is, just an update 1.8 milion records (which use update is really takes little time) and validation (which kills my system).

What is the reason for this?

    Info:
Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.1.0 - 64bit Production

I see that in the example of Guy Harrison the SYS_MFBA_NROW table contains a very large number of lines - and the query is forced into a loop of neste join on this table (as is your query). In your case the nested loop is a vision (and there is no sign of a current "pushed" predicate.

If you have a very large number of rows in the table, the resulting code is bound to be slow. To check, I suggest your run the test again (from scratch) with active sql_trace or statistics_level defined at all so that you can get the rowsource for the query execution statistics and check where the time is being spent and where the volume is displayed. You will have to call this one in Oracle - if this observation is correct that FBDA is only for OLTP systems, no DSS or DW.

  • Flashback Data Archive issue

    Hi all

There is this issue on the web:

Q: identify the statement that is true about Flashback Data Archive:

    A. you can use multipletablespaces for an archive, and each archive can have its own maintenance time.

    B. you can have an archive, and to eachtablespace which is part of archive, you can specify a different retention period.

    C. you can use multipletablespaces for an archive, and you can have more than one default value archive by retention period.

    D. Si you specify an archive by default, it must exist in onetablespace only.

Everyone says that the correct answer is b. isn't it supposed to be a?

Specified retention period to the archive flashback level not tablespace, then B is incorrect.

    Hello

Can you please let me know what could be the difference between archiving and the deactivation of the Qualitative research in data Admin Tool Kit.

    Thank you

    Rohini M

When you idle or archive anything it is no longer available for selection.   The difference between inactive and the archives, it's inactive items still appear available for the fine items while searching of archive will not be.

Allows so that you have the following to say:

    List A

    -Article 1

    -Article 2

    List items

If you were to inactivate the point 1, end-users is more would see can be selected when you use the extended qualitative attribute.  However when they are looking for specifications based on the extended attribute, they would still be able to select 1 point, whereas they could find objects that this value was used. If you archive Item 1, end users should display it no longer available for selection from anywhere - including research.

    Lists

If you were to inactive or archive the whole list, you would see is no longer available for selection when the establishment of a qualitative research of extended attributes.   I don't think that there's nowhere you can search for extended attributes by the list of research currently out of the box so that they would act similar.  Is there a place to find attributes extended by the search list and then he would follow the same rules as above.

    Hello

Database of flashback need newspapers archives files.

"Flashback Database is similar to traditional point-in-time recovery in its effects. To restore a database to the State at a time in the recent past. Flashback Database is much faster than the point-in-time recovery, because it doesn't require you to restore the backup data files and requires fewer changes of the archived redo logs. »

"No file in the fast recovery area is eligible for deletion if this is required to meet a guaranteed restore point. However, archived redo logs required to meet a guaranteed restore point can be deleted after that only they are saved on disk or on tape. When you use the RMAN FLASHBACK DATABASE command, if the archived redo must convince guaranteed a restore point are not available in the area of fast recovery, then they are restored from backups of logs. »

  • Indexing & Data Archive Manager

    Hello forums.

I work with Data Archive Manager at 8.52 PeopleTools, using the table PSACCESSLOG as indicated on the Wiki of PeopleSoft here:
    http://PeopleSoft.wikidot.com/data-archive-manager

Basically, the problem I encounter is during the creation of a model, when I select the subject archive and check as a base object, I get an error warning me that a unique index does not exist on the record, here's the message:
    http://d.PR/i/llxl

However, the only way I know PeopleSoft manages index is by specifying the key for record fields. Here is the table definitions, both have the same major fields:
    http://d.PR/i/G0E6
    http://d.PR/i/h2Fz

Index of the two documents/tables have been created since the application here is the built-in script designer:
    DROP INDEX PS_PSACCESSLOG_HST
    /
    CREATE  iNDEX PS_PSACCESSLOG_HST ON PS_PSACCESSLOG_HST (PSARCH_ID,
       PSARCH_BATCHNUM,
       OPRID,
       LOGIPADDRESS,
LOGINDTTM) TABLESPACE PSINDEX STORAGE (INITIAL 40000 NEXT 100000
MAXEXTENTS UNLIMITED PCTINCREASE 0) PCTFREE 10 PARALLEL NOLOGGING
    /
    ALTER INDEX PS_PSACCESSLOG_HST NOPARALLEL LOGGING
    /
Is there a specific way to create keys/indexes so that recording can be used as a basis of archives? I tried to create as unique index by publishing the create index SQL manually, by specifying "create unique index...". ».
There must be something that I am missing. As always, any input is much appreciated, thank you.

    Best regards.

    PeopleBooks
    The nonunique indexes
The SQL code generated by the data archives Manager assumes that the index keys identify unique rows. Therefore, the base table of the base object must have a unique index.

Check if the table has a unique index as pictured below. You can change this by clicking on the edit index unique index
    http://docs.Oracle.com/CD/E28394_01/pt852pbh1/Eng/psbooks/tapd/IMG/sm_ChangeRecordIndexesDialog_tapd.PNG

Say what you can do to create a unique index, I advice not to set a unique index with the keys as highly match the table PSACCESSLOG.
    Current keys:
    -OPRID
    -LOGIPADDRESS
    -LOGINDTTM

    Sense
    A person
    newspapers comes from a workstation
    at a certain point.

When you place a unique index on this table, this means that theoretically, you can not connect to PeopleSoft at the same time a position working with the same user with say different browsers IE and Firefox.
This will cause errors in unique constraints that will be presented to the user on logon, which is that average there is not a unique index on that table.

  • Had to reload operating system and applications data, now can't get firefox to recognize the profile data

My C drive (disk solid state drive), which held my operating system and data from the app crashed. I had it replaced, updated Win 7 to win 10 and have downloaded Firefox. I was able to restore my profile from a Mozy backup data and copied in the Firefox folder. But Firefox resolutely refuses to recognize. I tried using the recovery data from an old profile, but no advantage help page. Tried to use the Manager profile, but without success. When I go to Troubleshooting Information and click on file/Show profile, it comes up with a list of files (files starting with bookmarkbackups, which however is empty, down for webapps, which has the file inside webapps.json), then the files from addons.json down through xulstore.json and the file places.sqlite is 10 240 KB Although there is something in there, but Firefox resolutely refuses to acknowledge my profile, bookmarks, etc..

I'm out of options and ripping my hair out trying to get all my favorites, in which I have a lot of information such as the authentication of data for many favorite sites. It is frustrating that all the information seems to be there, but Firefox ignore all.

    Can anyone help?

Such a backup is perhaps a ZIP archive containing all the files into it if it is not a real file, but only one file.

Note is that you replace the file places.sqlite with a copy of the backup that you have to make sure to remove existing places.sqlite - shm and temporary files to SQLite places.sqlite - wal.
Ditto for the other SQLite files that you are restoring.

Have you checked the application.ini file in the backup?

  • I want out emails in folders of ordinary files, but when I drag-and-drop, the "modification date" gets changed. How I can still see the date?

To archive my e-mail files until I decided to switch to Thunderbird, I create regular folders in windows and drag and drop emails to outlook express in the appropriate folders. The "update" column displays the original date of the email... which is what I want to do with Thunderbird. In my view, that he treats it as a new file created today... that is not good for my archiving system of these professional work files that I need to find often in approximate date.

I understand the forum that it is by default in Thunderbird. There is an add-on that can do what I'm doing?

    Thank you in advance,
    Netwon

I think the reason what OE is the original date because each message is stored in a single file, while TB stores all messages in a folder in a file, an mbox file. Thus, when you save a message as a single eml file, its 'modification date' corresponds to the eml file date was written in the mbox file.

You can find the ImportExportTools add-on useful because it allows you to add the date of the e-mail eml file name when enamel is exported ("Save selected messages" of the message right-click menu).

  • Repeat the process of archiving for MAX PERFORMANCE in 11g

    Hello Evertyone,

Redo the archiving process: LGWR and ARCH (MAX PERFORMANCE)

Network Transmission mode: SYNC If you are using ARCH process

Oracle Data Guard 11 GR 2 Administration Guide beginner by Emre Baransel

-I see this summary: transport ARCH is not recommended because it offers no advantage.

What advantage LGWR provides rather than the ARK in MODE PERFORMANCE MAX?

In which clearly defined doc information?

    Hello

    1. the Oracle 10 g documentation link you have provided that it be said that (it would be even other oracle docs)

Allows maximum performance mode you either set the LGWR and ASYNC attributes or set the ARCH attribute on the LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_ n parameter for the standby database.

2.i hope you know the difference between the role of process LGWR and ARCH from the perspective of the database

3 by default, redo transport services use some ARCn process to archive log files to redo online on the primary database. Archiving ARCn processing supports only the protection of the level of maximum data performance in Data Guard configurations

Check-in occurs when a log switch occurs on the primary database:

    • On the primary database, after the ARC0 process archives successfully redo online newspaper the local destination ( LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_1 ), the ARC1 process transmits redo leave log files local archived redo (rather than the online redo logs files) to the remote standby destination ( LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_2 ).

    By coming to the LGWR

You can possibly afford to restore transport services using process LGWR for transmitting data to roll forward to distant destinations.

Using the LGWR process differs from the ARCn processing (described on the point 5.3.1), because rather than wait for online redo log to the primary database and then written archived all again to connect to the destination remote all at once, the process LGWR selects a log file waiting for Redo on the standby site that reflects the sequence of journal number (and size) of the current log file recovery online primary database.

Then, again being generated at the primary database, it is also transmitted to the remote destination. Transmission to the remote destination will be either synchronous or asynchronous, depending on whether the SYNC or the ASYNC attribute is set on the LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_ n parameter. Synchronous LGWR treatment is necessary for maximum protection and maximum availability of data protection patterns in Data Guard configurations

    4. it is not on the recommendation, its option to use - its role and how it works with over role, you understand. Oracle never says it's bad or wrong (you decide)

Why, in flashback, database, the data file associated with the storage space gets renamed to unnamed?

Thanks for the link and new info.

The reason is the same as in these quotes from doc that I have provided. As ORA-01111 indicates the name of the actual file is unknown so Oracle creates a unique name, then stops recovery so that you can provide the name and location.

Why, during the flashback database, retrieve a tablespace has fallen...

This formulation and the wording of the article, is probably what is mislead you. You cannot recover a tablespace using FLASHBACK DATABASE:

Here is the doc for FLASHBACK DATABASE

    http://docs.Oracle.com/CD/B28359_01/backup.111/b28273/rcmsynta023.htm

Notes A Flashback Database use operation applies to the entire base. You cannot flash back, individual storage spaces. A Flashback Database operation is similar to a point-in-time data recovery (DBPITR) with RECOVER , but RMAN uses flashback logs to undo changes to a point before the time runs out or SNA

See that second sentence? You NEED to recover the entire database and, as this quote from doc says, made it like CAMILLE by RECOVER.

In this example, the storage space AND data files were dropped. So please check the doc to DROP TABLESPACE

    https://docs.Oracle.com/CD/B28359_01/server.111/b28286/statements_9004.htm

Oracle database deletes all metadata about the space of storage data files and all the data dictionary tempfiles in the tablespace. The database also automatically removes the operating system all data files managed by Oracle and tempfiles in the tablespace. Other data files and tempfiles are not removed from the operating system unless you specify INCLUDING CONTENTS AND DATAFILES .

See? No additional data in the dictionary for the tablespace or data files. Real datafiles is more if they were managed by Oracle. But there MAY be data files of the operating system if you do NOT use this last clause.

If Oracle recreates the files using unique names and then allows you to CONFIRM that the name and location should really be.

You have a problem with that? Or just try to understand?
