• Impossible to change the default SMS contact?

  In general when I want to send a message to someone, I bring up the keyboard, to regain contact with universal search, and then click the SMS button next to their mobile phone number. Intuitively, one would think, when the Messenger is set up, it would send a message to the phone number you selected because there is a SMS button next to each phone number. Problem is, about half of my contacts, the default values of Messenger to another phone without me same number find out and I end up sending a text-to-fixed message rather than to their mobile phone. For each separate contact, it seems, the phone chose a number by default to use when it talks about the messenger app instead of using the phone number that I select, and I see no way to change this default value. It's incredibly frustrating and I sent so many erroneous messages without knowing and then having to change their number at the top of the mail app and then retype the message (since there seems to be no way to copy/paste a message that has already been sent)

  It's just something that I'm missing, or something Palm is planning on fixing?

  There is nothing your lack, it is a known bug and was sent to the team of Dev to fix.

  got my blackberry a few weeks ago.  He stopped sounds then the put verizon people how far it goes off every night for 5 minutes.  so far no problem. but a few days before, when I send a new SMS, I press the letter of my name of contact and he tells me that he has no contacts that begin w this letter.  It works on some and not on others.  I turned my phone off, took out the battery for a minute and he turned his back.  the same problem.  Anyone know what I do wrong?

  Try this as a troubleshooting effort.

  Opens its contact > Edit > enter its name IN the last name field.

  Now, back to compose SMS....   and press the first letter of his first name. It work?

  Hello eveybody.

  This is my first post and my first BB, I have the BB Bold 9700 with T - Mo. Here's my question:

  How to configure the BB to display the coordinates on the text message. Whenever I get a text message it shows just the phone number not the name, but when I connect to my home WiFi, the name to populate the text messages, but when I dissconnect the Wi - FI names disappear and phone numbers... I must have done something stupid when I was installing my contacts and or WI - FI

  And any comments or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

  It's complicated for SMS ringtones, but possible. Follow the instructions here:

  This work around will allow you to receive specific alerts for e-mail and messages from specific senders:

  (Works with OS 4.2 and later)

  1. go to the profiles on your BlackBerry and create a custom profile, naming the name of your sender targeted.

  2. Edit and change the custom ringtones that you prefer for this contact message notifications, Messages of level 1, MMS, phone and SMS for this profile. You don't change things like the calendar, tasks, and Messenger alerts do not matter for individual users.

  3. once all your ringtone settings are defined for the new custom profile, save the changes. Now, you will be in your list of profiles and see your customized profile that there are listed with the standard.

  4. now click on the wheel, and then select new Exception.

  5. title except for what you want (would be smart to again name the name of this particular contact).

  6. in the line, click the trackball or trackwheel and select the user in your address book. They should show now in your line.

  7 scroll to the bottom and change the option use the active profile in your custom group newly created profile.

  8. you can dislodge the "Custom phone Tune" box if you already have a custom phone tune for this contact, or leave it and set it in the new custom as well profile.

  9 save the changes.

  Now once you have followed these for each SMS contact - click Save as indicated by the number nine.  Go back to your profile and click on normal or hard for the sound profile. Make sure that you have all of the exceptions already in your area of exception for those you did a SMS tone for. If you do, remove them so you your SMS does not work.  You can actually set your ringtones under each one that you set up as well. When you change your SMS sounds, you can click on the phone and change your ringtone to that specific one.  Hope you can understand this.

• ios10 problem with non-users of iphone messaging

  After upgrading my iPhone 6 ios10, I had intermittent problems with the messaging of Android users (basically, the conversations no iMessage). In about 60% of the time it is not just to deliver the message no matter what I do (pressing the 'Try Again' don't work do not).   Group Messaging uses the MMS. Normal text messages using SMS. SMS uses the voice channel to transfer messages and is strictly a basic function. If you are experiencing problems sending SMS, contact your carrier.

• Not spoken error message

  I am trying to send iMessages to list of non-iPhones and iPhones in El Capitan through my iMac desktop computer via my iPhone. It seems to be sending, but then, after a period of time returns the error undelivered message. Is it or is it not to send my message? If this is not the case, why and how to fix it?

  Based on this info, that it is impossible to say.

  While a lot of time it might pay to run tests iMessages unique, unique connections SMS Contacts, and then tap groups of each before trying mixed groups.

  iMessages will show you the 'Not returned' alert if the connection cannot be established as an iPhone being extinguished and not link to sync with something else.

  He will do the same if the iPhone in question is turned on but cannot get a WiFi signal or carrier.

  It will also show that these messages repeatedly when the app cannot connect to the iMessages server.

  In this case, it will appear for each Contact that you are trying.

  I want to update blackberry 10 in z3, but it requires more than 4.5 GB free space. It is possible to do more than 4.5 GB of free space to z3 of blackberry that already comes with 8 GB.

  I deleted all applications to remove like facebook, SMS, contacts, related to, four squre and all others.

  But other applications that come as default by the company occupy space. Is there any solution to make more free space...?

  Hmmm Strange that link both will tell you that you are later AND also download an update. Strange.

  If there are problems of the Internet between your computer and the servers of BlackBerry, then what you describe could happen. To use this method, the only advice is to keep trying and I hope that it can work at a given time.

  Other methods, we could give you would be unofficial AutoLoaders which are totally destructive, replacement of ALL currently in your device with a new OS. So to use this method, you or the other must be able to succeed in a link - database backup / restore, a third party backup / restore or be prepared to start over from scratch.

  I have a storm and my company just started a demo for BlackBerry.  Even if I don't have the data of the business plan, I was curious to see if I could connect my phone to the BES we set up.  The answer is no, however, the BES has a COMPUTER policy on my phone.  Some bluetooth options are now disabled.

  How to remove this IT strategy?

  There is a method that you can use to remove the it strategy using the official application of RIM loader.exe. It is a method much cleaner & leaves NO trace of ANY POLICY of the IT.

  You must ensure you have Blackberry Desktop Manager installed & also have the latest software of device installed to your device.

  You will need to select your operator from the list in your area.

  PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS METHOD WILL WIPE YOUR DEVICE TO A FACTORY STATE, BY REMOVING ALL PERSONAL & REMOVE THE IT STRATEGY.

  If there is something important on your device, please back up by using the 'ADVANCED' feature on backup/restore in the Desktop Manager.

  I suggest you back up only what you need, IE SMS, Contacts etc. Please note that you can save in terms of the COMPUTER policy, so if you do this, when you restore the backup of your device, you just remove the it policy is restored on the device (FAIL!)

  If you don't know how to make a backup of your device via the advanced method, please PM me and I can guide you.

  Please make sure that your device is connected to your PC via USB if you have chosen to ignore backup, if you plugged hadnty it already.

  After the backup, you must open a command prompt on your PC, by clicking Start-> run, type cmd then press on enter.

  At the command prompt, you'll need locate the folder Apploader, provided that you have a C drive, it will be located at the:

  (the command you would use is cd \Program Research in motion\apploader)

  Then, you type in (without the quotes) ""/resettofactory loader.exe " "

  The device will then proceed to wipe, then restart.

  All that is left after the start of your device upward is to restore your personal data

  Thanks for the update finally BB10, so we can group text and e-mail. But I am unable to group text. I can't find my group. I can group e-mail. Any ideas?

  Open your SMS text compositions.

  In the "TO" box, press the far right + symbol which opens your SMS contacts.

  Type the name of the group, pick the right one and it will be highlighted in blue.

  Tap DONE in the top right.

• 9550 java programs Simulator does not

  I have eclipse Build id: 20100218-1602

  with BlackBerry_JDE_PluginFull_1.1.2.201003212304 - 12.exe installed.

  using the 9550 Simulator.

  I brought samples of BB in my workspace and then tried some on my 9550 Simulator, but all I get is the spinning hourglass and then a black screen.  If I click on the screen, it goes to the main BB screen with messages, e-mail, sms, contacts, etc..

  The Simulator, I also tried file > load Java program and chosen a cod file that is made.  I will get a stopwatch of spinning and then be returned to the main screen of BB again.

  The apps that I tried: HelloWorldDemo and GPSDemo.

  Any ideas on what I could do to fix this or help out more?  I'm surprised that I get no error of sorts on the BB.  Are there permissions or something that needs to be fixed? For HelloWorld? hahaha!

  Have you tried to check the download folder to see if they appear in?

• SOLVED blackBerry smartphones - cannot make outgoing calls. Get two beeps like busy tone with the Koodo Mobile in Thunder Bay, Ontario North

  This has caused me a lot of frustration.

  With my curve when I try to make an outgoing call and I get a busy signal as two beeps repeating themselves.

  I tried everything and the only thing that worked was a security wipe, so losing all my data.

  If I made a backup and restore, the problem comes back. If I restored it selectively through desktop BLackberry, database of the database, the problem returns. Koodo Mobile and Blackberry escalated support was not able to understand this.

  However, through much trial and error, I found that if I limit my identity or turn off the option to show my number in the phone settings, for some reason any he caused this problem.

  So I can't block my identity by using the settings on the phone.

  This can be the result of my location service and the carrier, which is Koodo mobile, in Thunder Bay in Northwestern Ontario that used the TBAYTEL towers for the service, the type of signals technology service. I don't know, and no one was able to tell me why this is happening. I went to 6 months not being able to make outgoing calls without losing ALL my sms, contacts, BBM, TXTs, bookmarks and other personal data. Only a security wipe would allow me to make a call - until I have activate the restrict my identity and activated the show my number option.

  SO - I hope this helps other users. I've been through three phones, thinking that it was the material problems.

  It's a kind of crappeh because I would not block my identity with a few calls. So with the curve BB on Koodo to Thunder Bay, I can't do that. I have not tried outside the Northwestern ONtario, but it will probably be the same, unless I am out of service TBAYTEL area.

  Such is life. Live with it.

  I did these steps including restore each database one at a time with the same results. I can do a full restore and the remains of the issue until I set restrict my identity forever AND Show My Number Yes. I also did all of these steps with the any other BB Curve 8530 and it seems to happen every ih in this area.

  I found the work around but it would be good to know why and if this happens outside the TBAYTEL towers that Koodo Mobile uses throughout Northern Ontario to the Ontario-Manitoba border in the West, to the North of Hearst and East of Sault Ste. Marie.

  If there are a Koodo Mobile, users who have a BlackBerry Curve 8530, I'd like to hear you just what I see if it is unique to the service provider, hardware, software and network type, geographical location, etc.

  Any comment is appreciated, as support Koodo and BlackBerry have been baffled and couldn't solve this problem and I hope that others find it so that they can save months of time and frustration, I have lived.

• Setting custom ringtones, blackBerry smartphones

  I downloaded 3 ringtones for my 8320.  I tried to put ringtones customized for specific people.

  I went to the list of contacts - edited my contact and apply a custom ring tone.

  Then in the box - less advanced - profiles I tried specifying "use an active profile EXCEPT for: and selected the friend I assigned a specific ringtone."

  When my phone rings that person or I receive an SMS on their part... It still sounds generic ringtone for all calls and sms.

  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  Welcome to the blackberry forums.  Ringtones ringtones and SMS are set up differently as my friends shared above.  I agree with JSanders, SMS is a bit complicated, but once you get the hang of it - it won't take you long!  It took me awhile to do - but I did it! I followed these sub JSANDERS management.

• Smartphones blackBerry Curve 8330 custom Notifications

  Hi all. New Blackberry user here. Just got the unit yesterday and spent a few hours trying to get everything put in place.

  The problem I have is trying to get my notifications customized to work with my contacts.

  OK, so here we are:

  A sender sends me a text or email and I want to let Notifier_ChiGong as the sound for them.

  B the sender sends me a text or email and I want to tell you its A on my media card to play for them.

  Now, I want all the other texts and emails from all over the world (on or not on my contact list) to play lets say its B on my media card to play for these.

  When I get a voice mail notification, I would sound completely different, let's say C sound of my media card to play in this one.

  I tried establishing exceptions and everything, but nothing works... All emails texts and voicemail notifications the same b strong and healthy parts.

  I searched the forums, but I can't understand this thing for the life of me. Everything else is coming for me as I continue to play with the device. I also spent 2 hours last night manually keying in my contacts in this unit, because my previous phone was not a smartphone, and I didn't Sync in my email software and destroy my many lists of various contacts...

  Andy help would be greatly appreciated.
