  Place the script in the change event of the text box and set the characters property to 11 for the text field.

  It is a very common problem when users become familiar with a new laptop. Either your palm/wrist/cuff/bracelet is touching the touchpad as you type or the touch pad sensitivity is set too high and reacts to strong strikes.

  • Go to the control panel mouse configuration and reduce the sensitivity of the touchpad.

Of course, because you know that you have had problems, wrongly, assume that Microsoft comes to your rescue and support Microsoft took the time to communicate with you and help you solve your problem.

  Microsoft does not work like that; they never contact someone directly about a problem they have with their computer - well no, unless that person has paid for the support program.   Since you're on a laptop, I suppose that you have a right of trackpad under the keyboard. It may be that you hit the trackpad with your wrist or Palm when you type.

  Try to change the sensitivity of the mouse and see if that helps or if you have a setting to disable the trackpad when you type. I have

  Click Start, control panel and select slider and change your settings in there...

  I don't know where the settings would be for the Compaq Presario but you can always check with the manufacturer to get the correct settings for your laptop.

  I can't my favorites appear in the address bar when I type in.  I have removed/disabled all the parameters 'InPrivate', my 'Securty level for this zone"is set to"Low ".  I "restored the advanced settings.  I deleted all cookies, temporary files, history, etc.  Also, I tried to update my registry and that does not work either.  I reinstalled IE8 and it does not work.  I also ran a 'fix' and who does not.

  My only thought is to reset Internet Explorer...
