    When I view my page, all is well in Safari and Firefox, but Explorer for PC does not show my little icon. I checked the other sites on the Mac that have icons and when I look at the same sites to explore some of the icons appear so that some do not. Anyone out there have a glimpse of this?

    Thanks in advance.

    One thing I've always done differently with these icons, it is use a standard naming convention:

    Something always better favicon.gif worked for me...

    In addition, IE has some general quirks (shocking, I know!) with icons of favorites..., it must actually put the site in your Favorites!

    Just for fun, try to add your site to your IE Favorites, then close/reload IE and see what happens. I remember do this favorite site icon * magic * appear.

    I try to customize firefox to look like IE, don't ask why, believe me, I don't want. Anyway, I downloaded FoxE9, that customizes a bit look like ie9, which I think it's the closest I'm going to Firefox.

    Only problem Im crossing is the firefox icon that is in the address bar on the left side, I think its called a favicon?

    Is it possible to change or remove? It is also the portable version of firefox 26.

    Not much in the way of images of example here.

    If it has nothing to do the Web site you are viewing, then this isn't a favicon. Please provide a screenshot of what you are referring.

  • My Favorites icon when muse my site is saved in Favorites does not match the favorite icon to the address bar. How can I fix it?

    Hello! I have a bit of mystery on my hands. Recently, I bought a Muse model site and there corresponding favicon and favorite icons. I've updated the favicon on the model site on the master pages in the Page preferences and not for the life of figure me out how to update the Favorites icon. Initially I thought that setting the favicon would automatically do an icon of the Favorites, but is no longer, I think that this is the case. Someone knows how to fix this problem or where you load the favorite icon?

    I know there must be a way to match them. See below. In the address bar it has the favicon updated dove logo that I added. In Favorites, I get the logo that came with the model site?

    Here is the favicon for this site address bar. The favicon is a symbol of white doctor or Caduceus on a teal background

    But it's the image/icon that appears in the Favorites.

    (™ wesite is what I renamed the site in the Favorites bar). The image is always blue-green, but there the image of generic clock on it. I do not load this image of the clock in my site anywhere. In fact, it appears as theIcon for many sites on my favorites page.

    Favorites icons do not use the favorite icon. It's something called apple touch icons. If you look at any website that have the icon and look at the source code for it, you'll see that it uses Apple Touch icons.

    If you look at the source code for those who have the icons you will see code like this in thesection:

  • I can't export my bookmarks because I can't access the bookmarks icon in the address bar. It is hidden so I can't go to the library where it shows the export

    Described in section help export process works well on older versions of Firefox and I used this when I ran Windows XP, but now I'm on W7 and my browser does not display the bookmarks option to export bookmarks to an HTML file. How can this utility?

    Firefox hides the combo of the Favorites menu button when you have the full menu bar displayed: in this case, you can use the bookmarks menu in the menu bar. Or you can switch back to the button orange Firefox (with the menu two compact columns) such as described in this article: the menu of Firefox instead of the menu bar button.

    If you are a person focused on the keyboard, you can open the library section bookmarks dialog box by pressing Ctrl + Shift + b (for history, Ctrl + Shift + h, downloads, Ctrl + j).

    Thank you - Yes, I just found this add-on. I did some digging further after I posted my question and discovered that this new update 'Australis' is going to be a nightmare for me. Mozilla says that making the most customizable browser, yet it is now clearly LESS customizable (and I don't mean only the button reload.) I discovered half a dozen disturbances in the last hour only).

    It is very telling, when you need an add-on to solve the problems created by developers. A Firefox user on another forum posted a comment which I think is relevant here: "if I wanted to Chrome, I would be installed Chrome.»

  • How can I put an icon in the url bar?

    Hi, I want to add an icon to my url bar. (as an adobe has) I already search around forums and they say that it is the script that I need to use:

    < link rel = "shortcut icon" href = "Favicon.ico" type = "image/x-icon" > "
    < link rel = "icon" href = "Favicon.ico" type = "image/x-icon" > "

    I know he must be inside the < head > section and that the icon be .ico and saved in the root folder. It still does not work.

    Any suggestions?

    It therefore appears in Firefox but not in IE because you have it saved as a BMP
    the image, even if your extension is .ico. This is the reason why it is not
    work.

    Download Imagicon (do a Google search), it will convert your image to a
    ICON file for you.

    Take care

    On some pages (like gmail.com), instead of the address of the page on the address bar, I get a mixture of icons (rss, homepage, Star, previous-next, print, refresh, search etc.). I can not copy the address or refresh the page. I downloaded firefox again, but it did not work.

  • Version 29: Address bar is filled with static icons to Firefox. Impossible to type the URL in the address bar.

    I have never seen anything like this before and can't find a solution in support or in a general Google search.

    We have a user who has an address bar has filed with the static icons in Firefox (there's a screenshot if there is no way to predict that). If the user clicks on them, they aren't going anywhere (they shouldn't be here anyway, no?). This user is unable to type in the address bar, either. Not sure if there was an auto-update to version 29 of the next day or not, but Firefox has been uninstalled a sweet version of installed 29 - reasoning that he could be an installation problem. The question remains. This user is not having the same problem with Chrome. Have not tried to breed with another browser on that machine. Have not heard complaints from other users in the Office using version 29.

    Is there a setting being ignored with version 29? Is this a bug? Should we try to install version 28 and see if it's a question of versioning, or maybe something else? Try to eliminate possible problems and move to the next set of solutions.

    Thank you

    It is a problem with my laptop with large screen of 1366px. And it was good until last year when I've upgraded to a new Firefox every night a few months ago, and this problem occurred.

    And the cause of this problem is the address bar, if I removed it the icon has not disappeared (minimize)
    Tried to change the width of the address bar, but nothing helped. What can I do else? Only this folder of bookmarks disappear, all other icons of stays...

    Reset firefox it's a hilarious response. Please stop suggesting such a thing, when it's not neccessery. Since I have not had a response, deleted a few files and the localstore.rdf came out to be the problem, deleted icons and rearranged, again, now it works very well.

    Your solution is dumb as hell, why the hell I start all process (with 30 extensions etc.) during the Setup and can be ended with the same bug?

  • I want the address bar so that my bookmark bar can show more than three icons when it is placed on the same line.

    I have about five to ten icons bookmark in the same line as the search and address bar. So I use customize... and I put the bookmarks on the same line bar. I leave the "name"-textbox in each bookmark in white so that only the icons. ""

    However, only two icons appear and the rest are displayed in a drop-down list with an arrow you click.

    I need not address bar to take 70% of the screen. I don't want the bookmarks bar to use an additional line. I just want to have the icons of bookmark five to ten next to my search and address bar. Is this possible?

    The address bar and the search bar, that both have a flex attribute that makes then take all available space.

    Items in Bookmarks Toolbar folder probably has a minimum width that can just make a bookmark with a maximum length label (in your case two icons).

    You can set the width of the address bar and the search bar to force a maximum width of these two bars max.
    Definition of a minimum width for the bookmarks toolbar items will probably work as well.

    Add code to the file userChrome.css below default @namespace (setting the width according to your needs).

    Customization files (interface) userChrome.css and userContent.css (Web sites) are located in the chrome folder in the user profile folder.

    @namespace url("http://www.mozilla.org/keymaster/gatekeeper/there.is.only.xul"); /* only needed once */

    #urlbar-container { max-width: 400px !important; }
    #search-container { max-width: 200px !important; }

    You can use this code to set a minimum width for bookmarks toolbar items if you want to experiment with that.

    You may need to set a width max as well.

    #personal-bookmarks { min-width: 200px !important; }
