• Cannot install 3 WMF on Windows 2008 SP2 computer

  I have a system running Windows 2008 SP2 Enterprise edition OS. I try to install windows management framework 3 so I can get running powershell 3.0 on it and unable to do so. When I run the installation of 3 WMF, I get a message "the update does not apply to your system". On the WMF page, it lists this version 3 can be installed on windows 2008 SP2.

  The system has .NET 1.1, installed 3.5 SP1 and 4.5.2. I don't see WMF in the Windows Update list on the server. Suggestions that more I need to install or uninstall?

  I just saw through the 2868725 Ko to disable the RC4.

  According to the article, we need to install the KB update, then we need to change the values of registry keys to disable the RC4.

  However, I could not find the download for the Windows 2008 SP2 server file in the download link

• Silverlight does not not on Windows 2008 SP2 - IE8

  Hi, I work with an application that requires Silverlight 5 to run. It runs on a Terminal Server with Windows 2008 SP2 x 64 and IE8.

  When I try to launch the application it displays a message: 'to use it you need to install Silverlight 4. Click on this link to download and install. When I click the link it takes me nowhere.

  Currently I have Silverlight installed 5.1.41212.0.

  Anyone know if there is a version of SL 5 compatible with Windows 2008 SP2 64-bit?

  I have a Windows 2008 x 86 with Service Pack 1 installed. I tried to install Service Pack 2, but failed with error code 0 x 8004102.

  I tried the steps in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947366:

  1 uninstalled antivirus.

  2. install KB947821 analysis tool

  3. downloaded and run the standalone version http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=a4dd31d5-f907-4406-9012-a5c3199ea2b3&displaylang=en

  Without success. What should he do next?

• Windows 2008 SP2 running on a HP ProLiant DL160se - cannot delete hiberfil.sys

  First of all, it's a running AD AD 2008 R2 domain controller.

  It was built about 2 years ago.

  C: 30 GB disk

  100 GB drive D:

  Yes. I know that the C: drive is small but that's the way it was built and I have to live with it until the next refresh.

  Here's my problem.

  I'm only 400 MB of free space on the C: drive and am afraid that at the next round of patching this server will run out of space.

  We have a file hiberfil.sys on the C: drive, which is close to 5 GB in size.

  We don't Hibernate enabled nor do we ever want to use.

  I Googled it and I tried all the suggestions and nothing seems to me to delete the file.

  I don't have a HibernateEnabled registry setting anywhere in the registry.

  I don't have a setting of 'Sleep' in the Advanced Power Options.

  I tried the following, and I still couldn't remove:

  -powercfg/h off

  I also tried to enable it, but it came up saying that I don't have enough space to create the hibernation file. WTF?

  As much as I can say that we have no setting Hibernate anywhere in the OS so why this file exist and how can I get rid of him. ?

  I downloaded the new hyperion 11.1.2 include ODI and then I extracted the ODI files and I run the Setup, but nothing happens? can I extract the files in the same folder as other files of extracted hyperion?

  I can find a link that indicates that SQL 2005 SP2 is supported on Windows 2008 SP1 (http://www.microsoft.com/Sqlserver/2005/en/us/system-requirements.aspx). But I want to make sure that you document somewhere that Windows 2008 SP2 is also supported.
