Update 13 "mid-2012 Pro or wait on Pro 2016?
OK, so here is where I am: I just got a Mid-2012 13 "Macbook Pro with an i5 2.5 gHz and 4 GB of RAM (inherited, so I didn't have to pay for it)."
Everyone knows that it is better to wait for 2016 MacBooks before you buy anything, but I have more than one option now. I could sell this MacBook on my own for somewhere between $600-800 if I play my cards right and have a good bit of money to help me get a new Macbook. My other option is to put up $ 300 and throw in an SSD and some more RAM.
What is the best bang for the buck? Where would my money better spent? Should I treat with a non-retine and push the SSD for somewhat better habitability or get a new Headrush?
Oh, and in terms of how to use it? Mainly FCPX, which is not too bad now, but if I ever want to throw first or After Effects on here, it takes at least as RAM. Games is saved for my turn to Windows.
There is no new MBP yet, and we can not discuss or speculate about future Apple products. If you choose to wait for the next big Apple product or not is a decision only you can make.

RAM has nothing to do with your saved apps & files. This is the temporary memory.
Your saved apps and files are stored on the hard drive.
That said, it is always advisable to back up your computer before performing any type of software or hardware upgrade.

It will help in cases where the applications require more than 4 GB of RAM. Otherwise, there will be no noticeable difference. If you really want to increase the speed, an SSD is the best option. They cost about 3 x's + more than a traditional HDD of same capacity...

MacBook Pro (mid-2012) update to SSD drive
Hello
I'm looking in the upgrade of the 750 GB hard drive on my MacBook Pro for mid-2012 with an SSD of equal or greater size. Prices of SSDS become low enough that it is a good idea. But I don't know which way to arrive and I'm worried about that "trimming" I read on.
I just saw a 960 GB SanDisk Ultra II SSD for a good price on Amazon and I was wondering if it would be a good choice, or should I be looking at higher training.
Any advice?

Based on reputation and personal experience, the best SSD yo install in a MBP comes OWC and Crucial. (I have 3 SSD Crucial installed in my Mbps) The final choice is always yours.
Both of these choices, the FILLING is not necessary. Other brands may be necessary to TRIM.

I im experiencing some major performance issues on my Mac Book Pro 13 mid 2012 thumb and would really like to move to 16 GB of memory Ram and an SSD.
That someone has or has had experience with the mise a niveau of this model... or the upgrade in general and running on some issues.
Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

Assuming that it is a model identifier 9.2, it will accept the 16 GB of RAM and an SSD will improve its overall performance. The best sources for RAM compatible Macs are OWC and Crucial. Based on reputation and personal experience, OWC and Crucial get my nod for SSDS as well.
You will need to decide if the higher cost for one SSD worth it. compared to a classic HARD disk if the bank account is fat, do. I have.

I know that apple says that 8GB is the maximum RAM.
is it OK to do? ? (System and stability not wise not hardware wise)

I would avoid the Samsung SSD. If you analyze these forums, many users have experienced difficulties with the Samsung SSD. (Some are not) Note that Samsung is unable to talk about Mac compatibility on their web site. I think what to say.
I can recommend Crucial SSD based on my experience in the installation of three of them in my Mbps. OWC SSDS have an excellent reputation.
I support the Crucial RAM. I have 16 GB of Crucial RAM installed in two of my Mbps. 16 GB of RAM should present no problems for your MBP. OWC is also a great salesman of RAM Mac compatible.

Support on this community has helped me tremendously before so I thought I'd post again about a new problem.
I upgraded my Mac with an SSD, which works very well, with more RAM; However, recently, it has been very slow and train, and I don't know why. RAM is not being crazy, so it must be something else.
After reading the other posts, I'm thinking maybe I need a new battery? I mean I have 893 cycles ahah. Could someone help with this?

Hello. Try restarting your Mac.
Try to start:
-Stop your Mac
-Wait until your computer turns off and after that press the power button
-Just after you hear the startup tone, press in and hold the SHIFT key
-Release the SHIFT key when you see a gray Apple sign and the progress under this sign bar
-Once your Mac boot, restart dhcpd as you usually do.
If this does not help, follow the instructions below:
-Stop your Mac
-Wait until your computer turns off and after that press the power button

-Once you see office, start a scan Disk Utility to detect and repair file system errors (remember to choose your primary hard drive)
-Click on the disc to check, then, if requested to solve the problems on the repair disk
-After that click on verify disk permissions, and then click Repair disk permissions
-Once the process is complete, stop your Mac and turn it on again after 30 seconds

I am on a MacBook Pro mid 2012, Yeosmite 10.10.5, I want to switch to Sierra and am nervous to do when I had a terrible experience upgrade to Yosemite, support with gratitude by Apple in charge. I have everything backed up on Time Machine. Are there steps of preparation I need to do before you download and upgrade to Sierra. Can you please advise me please?

MacBook Pro (mid-2012) freezes when the lid closes
My Macbook Pro (mid-2012) crashes whenever I close the lid. He wakes up not coming back. When I charge the laptop at 100%, it will stop at 0% inside and hour or two any apps I run. It also runs VERY hot. Here is the information of EtreCheck.

Mid-2012, Macbook Pro 13 inch corrupt partition map
I was connect my external hard drive that works 24 Fedora quite frequently beyond a few days. I use the option key during the startup key to choose the operating system. So now my OS X El Capitan only lights because of a partition error. I fixed that with the recovery of the internet, but I am 100% sure that this issue will come soon. Is there any solution for this? What is the cause of this problem?

Yes, a replacement hard drive. They are not terribly expensive and replacement is simple.

MacBook Pro(MID-2012):Issues after Upgrading to El Capitan
I use Macbook Pro mid-2012 version. After upgrading to El Capitan, I am facing a lot of questions.
(1) the DMG files does not open. said hdiutil attach has busy resource failed.
(2) my Macbook Pro will not stop completely.
(3) my systems updates install completely. They hit each other between installation (had to force quit)
' (4) ' about this Mac ' gets hit when trying to access storage tab.

So, I just bought a Macbook Pro 13.3 mid 2012. It got to me- but I would like to know if I can buy Apple Care for her.
I got a trade place guaranteed purchase option when I got it and I opted to have the warranty coverage.
But, when I get the machine I'm going to save it with Apple and I hope to be able to get some Apple Care.
It has 8 GB (already updated) inside with a 250 (?) Drive hard SSD I am inclined to think that it means a 256 a.
Which can develop this machine at?

You hear 16 GB because it is probably no new referendum early 2015 MacBook Pro with the Retina display. It is an old Mac and it can only be improved up to 8 GB of RAM.
With respect to the storage, you can switch to 512 GB Solid State Drive. If you need to store more speed (below SSD) receivable, you can also have the (1024 GB) 1 TB HDD.
