Update, a null string

Hi all

I have a string value "\bin" in all my table name of the column 'PLACE '. an example is "c:\oracle\product\11.2.0.1\db_1\bin".

I want to cut the value of this column, as a result of "c:\oracle\product\11.2.0.1\db_1".

How to perform the update? Is it the role of 'unstring' or 'instring' command 'trim '?

Thank you very much

Kinz
UPDATE table SET column=REPLACE(column,'\bin',NULL)

  • Update on nulls in the column vs add column not null default 11 g

    Hello

    Let's take a scenario following 1. *

    We have a large partitioned table LARGE_TABLE1 (say: NUM_ROWS 5 904 977 029, size GB 326) in the Oracle 11 database.

    We want to add a new column NEW_COLUMN (NUMBER) and give a value of-999 to NEW_COLUMN each record in this table.
    ALTER TABLE LARGE_TABLE1 ADD (NEW_COLUMN NUMBER DEFAULT -999 NOT NULL);
    In Oracle 11 it would probably a second since the value of default -999 would be permanently added in metadata without updating each and every record 6 bln.

    Take a scenario 2 *

    We have another large partitioned table LARGE_TABLE2 (of similar size as LARGE_TABLE1) in the Oracle 11 database.

    We have an existing EXISTING_COLUMN (NUMBER) column that contains nulls 90% (90% of scores only contain null values in the field, and 10% of the scores only contain non-null values in this field)

    I would like to replace null values in EXISTING_COLUMN with number - 999.

    Update the column full Ascension not going :-) and doing so in a loop (the partition partition) would take a few days.

    Question:
    Do you know a way somehow write this -999 "overall" in the metadata as in scenario 1 instead of updating a null value in all the records to-999? No clever workaround solution would be appreciated...

    ALTER TABLE LARGE_TABLE1 ADD NEW_COLUMN NUMBER GENERATED ALWAYS AS nvl(col1, -999);

  • Error: Not nullable column cannot be updated to null

    Error code.

    Code...-2147217887
    Description... Not nullable column cannot be updated to null.

    I'm doing an FDM of connection ODBC import. One of the column in the oracle database is assigned to the property "AllowNull" (impossible to change the ownership of the source table) and I try to import in the amount field in the staging table that has a property of 'NoNull' and there is therefore a conflict.

    Thank you.

    Just do a few null checks in your script integration and ignore the rows of data that are null. A simple way to do is to use IsNull (field in your source) to check if the source value is null. In this case do not import this data line.

    Welcome to the HP community @rball007,

    I understand a computer running Windows 10, which had the printer installed using a Setup disk, now knows the pop ups. My best advice would be to uninstall the printer completely from a PC, the HP printer install wizard for Windows instead, to ensure that the most current drivers for Windows 10 are installed.

  • update of NULL in the column with the values of the adjacent column

    Examples of data

    select 1 as one, null as two, 2 as three,5 as four, 6 as five, null as six from dual)

    This is one of those cases, the case may be where any value of a column can be null

    or two similar columns can be null. If the column is null then I want to update the adjacent column

    average value of the column, if the first column is null so I want to take the next non-null column and update, if the last column is null

    Hello

    You can find a few methods here: How To: nodes of XML update with values from the same document. Oracle of Odie's blog

    They are not applicable to your options and version though.

    This is the first applied to your case:

    declare

    v_xmldoc xmltype.

    Start

    Select xmlparse (document to_clob (t.xmldoc))

    in v_xmldoc

    of my_nclob_table t

    where t.id = 1;

    for r in)

    Select idx, schema_name

    of my_nclob_table t

    xmltable)

    "/ game/configuration.

    passage v_xmldoc

    columns idx for ordinalite

    , schema_name varchar2 (30) path 'property[@name="jdbc.schema"]/@value '.

    )

    )

    loop

    Select updatexml)

    v_xmldoc

    , "configuration/game / ['|]» [to_char (r.idx) |'] Property[@name="password"]/@value'

    r.schema_name | '01'

    )

    in v_xmldoc

    Double;

    end loop;

    Update my_nclob_table t

    Set t.xmldoc = to_nclob (xmlserialize (dash, document v_xmldoc))

    where t.id = 1;

    end;

    Here's another, using DOM:

    Hello

    I changed and then brought back to the State that you had.

    The problem here is that you have status and Seq_id returned with APEX_ITEM. HIDDEN, but you have not selected the Show check box for those columns attribute report tab.

    Thus there is no f06 and f09 only named elements in your HTML DOM and therefore no APEX_APPLICATION. G_F06 and G_F09. If your processes

    FOR correct here is what you do

    1. mark the status and Seq_id as indicated in the report attribute tab columns
    2. change the ACE status display hidden to report column Standard. Change display of the Seq_id also report Standard column

    Note that when a column is not marked to show in the report he becomes any and you don't see the associated items in the DOM HTML.

    See you soon,.

  • sqlldr - replace "NULL" string value NULL?

    I have a file that I'm loading in the CSV format. An example of a record is something like this:

    ID, FirstName, MiddleName LastName,
    1, R, DOE
    2, NULL, such
    3, Jim, F, Doe

    My problem lies in the 2nd record. The real "NULL" text inserted in the field middlename. I know that I can use this in my control file to replace it with a real null...

    MIDDLENAME "REPLACE(:MIDDLENAME,'',)."

    However, I can't use as the string "null" could exist somewhere else (if the someone last name was something like "SNULLING"... bad example, I know).
    Is it possible in the control file to use an IF statement to determine if the field is only 'NULL '? I'm going to have no chance and would appreciate any help... (I use 11g R2)

    Hello BoredBillJ.
    You can try

     , middlename "CASE :middlename WHEN 'NULL' THEN NULL ELSE :middlename END"

    or

     , middlename "DECODE(:middlename, 'NULL', NULL, :middlename)"

    Hope this helps,
    Luke

    In my BIOS the NVMe0 slot has the text , while she reads as NVMe0 in the boot order list. The NVMe0 slot contains my ssd Samsung 950. Does anyone know what is referring?

    I got it to work. I reused Rufus to an another USB Installer (GPT partition mode) and it worked without problem. I wonder if when you use DISKPART, I accidentally messed up the USB installation disk. Thanks for the help!

  • updates failed every night for Hewlett Packard Imaging printing HP Photosmart 6520 series NULL

    Since I have my printer photosmart 6520 02/12/2012 every night he's trying to update Hewlett Packard photosmart HP 6520 series print NULL Imaging... .and it fails every time.  I have a desktop HP P 7 1010 and since I got a new printer, I have an exclaimation point on my computer and it says the problems and when you do it it's is not drivers and it shows NO FIXED.  When you close the session at night, he tries to update the NULL characters again and it fails every time.  I spoke with people from your service many times for more than an hour and they can't solve the problem.  Help, please

    I did some research on the problem of another user, and looks like it's just a ghost update.  Basically, an update 'ghost' is an update that was for the device, but unit has newer drivers which causes the update failing to keep.  The only thing you can do is to hide the update, or ignore it.  Windows will continue to try to push it, but your printer does not need it.  If she didn't need the update, it would install right.  You can find the thread where I helped another user below.  I hope this helps.

  • Ring of text 'strings' property update, but no display on the control panel

    I manipulate 'strings' of a text property individual ring progmatically.  However, changes cannot be seen on my computers remotely display the VI via remote panels and a web browser.  The changes are visible on the computer running the VI.  Is this a known issue?  Is there a work around?

    I am running LabVIEW v. 8.6

    Does anyone know if there are updates to this version?  I felt like I was against bugs in this version of labview special of the day 1.

    Thank you!

    -nic

    One of my colleagues fell on this issue and it turns out that he was writing the string too early. He moved the update of the string to the latter in the code and everything was OK.

    It had to do with the service Web is not upward and ready, he said.

    That's all I remember off the top of my head.
