  If you have a specific reason to update your application, you don't need to use new certificates. Just use the DPS App Builder to build a new application with the same files and CERT and send it to Apple. (To v23, I would create the app from scratch rather than modifying the application because of a bug in DPS App Builder).

  You cannot change the existing application on a different machine than appeared on. You will need to go to the Folio Builder Panel in InDesign, select your folio and App create in the drop-down menu to create a new app use all the same settings that your old and you can download it on iTunes to replace your existing application.

Serial DPS numbers are serial number after use and re-use needs approval. In the case where you need an app that would need several updates, go to a subscription to creative cloud.
