Impact of hierarchy scenario?

The scenario dimension has always been a little unique in the sense that despite what allows for hierarchies, basic members do roll parents at all.  Is there any impact of performance/anything else who just organize the scenarios into a hierarchy instead of dish?

For example, we have various scenarios to the replacement rate (real if you Plan to last year, etc.).

To do this:

Scenario of

-Real

-ActualAtPlan

-ActualAtLY

all behave differently than this:

Scenario of

-Real

-ActualAtPlan

-ActualAtLY

Or is it simply a matter of organizational design?

Hello

You said it is true, that it is simply a matter of organizational design. The scenario dimension does not allow consolidation or aggregation.

Kind regards

  • Configuration of the ADF transactions

    Hello

To understand how work the various operations of the ADF, so I created a demo application to try a few scenarios. There was some behavior not expected according to my understanding and expected behavior. If I put my findings here, hoping to solve the mystery of the transaction in the ADF or to improve my understanding. The post is long enough, but I tried to convey as much steps in detail as possible to describe what I did and what I observed.

    The requirements of the scenario

    1. 1. destination (see BTF) pages should never control a transaction
    2. 2 application should be able to scale up to 250 simultaneous users
    3. 3 edit task flow must be reusable to complex business processes

    Abbreviations Used

    1. 1. UETIP = use of existing if Possible Transaction
    2. 2 ABNT = always start a new Transaction
    3. 3 NC = no Transaction Controller

    Conclusion

    1. 1. not what I waited, but what I've been through since the previous, scenarios I can understand why this is happening

    Summary

    1. 1. for 250 concurrent users and efficient transaction handling requirement I need to set up the operation as follows:
      1. a. working view controller Transaction + isolated streams
      2. b. the edit to use existing if Possible Transaction + Shared workflow
    2. 2 this configuration for the number of concurrent users requires an initial 500 connections to database server configuration if each user opens the two use cases at the same time. As this might not be the only functionality provided by the application, I would need a very large number of database connections, who defeated my scalability requirement.
    3. 3 so of course, my understanding and approach might be incorrect.

    Leon

    Hi Leon

Well, you made my Friday, it was fun to go back and explore all of these scenarios.  I'll emphasize again Bravo on writing your scenarios in detail, but clear, it contributes greatly to talk & study the problem and not spend time deliberating on the description of the problem that is so often missing on these forums (index other readers - you want to help, write better questions).

To test the scenario 2 I built the following request on the HR database.  I joined this 11.1.1.7.0 so we could test for constant behavior in 11.1.1.7.0 and 12.1.2.0.0 by migrating to the top:

    https://DL.dropboxusercontent.com/u/12154176/TransactionsFun.zip

(It is a temporary location, please take a local copy)

You will notice to reproduce your scenario and work on what's happening:

    (a) I do not use the shell of the user interface.  The shell of the user interface makes it difficult just to its existence.  Generally whenever I get in a transaction number with the shell of the user interface, I rather to build an application with 1 page, 2 BTF incorporated as a region.  This simulates what the shell of the user interface attempts to reach without getting caught upward in discussions all about 15 tablets or the difference between browser tabs and the UI shell.  Ultimately the shell UI is just a region multi page.

    (b) on each fragment in the BTF, I've included output on internal information reveal for the Working Group:

Name of the current task flow

The current data from workflow to control scope

    Current transaction option task flow

Name of the control framework the current data from workflow

Current frame control task data stream attached the names of data control

The current image name of control transaction workflow data

Task data flow control current frame is dirty transaction

Control of data data frame name control and attached names was very helpful in revealing what was going on.  If you run the example, look at the name DCF in these two areas and look at what data controls are attached to this DCF you will see same DCF is used depending on the region and the same AMS are grouped under this a DCF.  Thus a validation on a workflow commit the DCF and all the associated root bound AMs.

Return therefore to scenario 2, the sample application that I conclude this framework is properly, because:

As scenario 2 introduces a UTF DCF, DCF is then shared between BTF all because they all use a scope of control of shared data.  When you hit your step 1 then 2, the two root AMs are together under this a DCF.  The only way to prevent this is to use a data command isolated field.

Remember, without worrying if the BTF existing Transaction option to use if Possible, use the AFM provides the transaction limits.  If someone commits the DCF (via say a workflow task back to commit), AMs all attached that DCF will be engaged as a group.

So when in step 8, a valid user EDIT_EMP_BTF, considers the BTF (don't forget, you have visited EDIT_EMP_BTF to step 3 front of EDIT_DEPT_BTF in step 5) her in charge of the operation through the Transaction existing use if Possible flag and no other BTF launched an operation, commit the DCF about.  As this DCF attached several AMs roots, they are all we incurred, including any changes.  By your scenario happens you have just inserted a change in both your two AMS before validation is called, so why two records are saved in the database.

It reminds me of the stream prematurely completed task scenario.  Conceptually our transactions present leaks beyond the limits of BTF even if we defined the transaction on the BTF options.  The key to understanding these limits is the DCF.  The key to controlling this behavior and the limit of transaction uses a range of remote data control.

This may sound strange, but there are some fun things to see in scenario 2.  A better question would be why the 2nd BTF throws ADFC-00020 when the 1st task force has already started a transaction?  This is because the BTF is using the existing Transaction to use if Possible option which I refer as the "promiscuous" BTF transaction option.  When the 1st BTF arrives, on the DCF may not see a transaction on the frame, so it starts one.  Yet when the 2nd BTF arrives, he fortunately also leave a transaction on the frame, but he finds a already so it uses this transaction.  If you reverse BTF2 to always start a new Transaction, then you will see scenario 4.

Once again remember the scenario 4, nested ams make no difference to the scenario.  When you declare a nested I automatically ignore the nested AM and paying attention to the AM root.  For all purposes useful AOS nested has no impact on the scenarios you describe here.  It exists as a concept of design time only.

    Hope it makes sense.

I haven't had the time to check all the less 12.1.2.0.0, I hope I have some time next week.

  • Hierarchy parent child scenario

    Hi friends,

Im just working on the parent-child hierarchy by using the link below with the sample data.

    http://www.Oracle.com/WebFolder/technetwork/tutorials/OBE/FMW/bi/bi11115/biadmin11g_02/biadmin11g.htm_

I tried to implement the same hierarchy using my local data instead of referring to the sample data.

I have a query that returns the Manager as well as the position of the employee at the employee below
select distinct papf.person_id,  papf.full_name "Employee Name", supf.person_id "Manager Id", supf.full_name "Manager Name", pj.name "Position Name"
    from per_all_people_f papf, per_all_assignments_f paaf, per_all_people_f supf, per_jobs pj
    where papf.person_id = paaf.person_id and supf.person_id = paaf.supervisor_id and paaf.job_id = pj.job_id
    and trunc(sysdate) between paaf.effective_start_date and paaf.effective_end_date and
    trunc(sysdate) between papf.effective_start_date and papf.effective_end_date
Im looking forward to implement the same result in my BI with a parent-child hierarchy.

Since then, I imported three tables to my physical layer
    per_all_people_f------------Dimension
    per_all_assignments_f-----Fact
    per_jobs---------------------Dimension
For the creation of parent-child in BI, we need to have a table of separate Parent child which consist of four columns like ancestorkey, memberkey, distance, sheet.

In the column above, I can understand the meaning as
    For Ancestorkey-->Managerid
    Memberkey------->Employeeid
But I could not the meaning of the column distance as the meaning suggest, as a distance b/w the two column of the worksheet in the sense suggest as one sheet What leaf member it refers.

I also have the link below then too could not get the feel for it

  • Reinstall Vista, impact on HP Pavilion webcam

Starts here in the forum Vista, I can move to a forum of material on the line (you'll see why).  My question is so about the approach of my system of resettlement/reconstruction, so let me explain how I got there where I am currently.

I have a HP Pavilion DV2660se under Vista Home Premium (32 bit) SP2.  I bought it 2 years but recently I tried to use the integrated webcam.  Regardless of the different applications, I've tried, none recognized the webcam, or they thought that it was already in use.  In the process of troubleshooting, I visited the HP support site and tried various steps proposed it.  In the middle of everything, I suddenly started getting a 'blue screen '.  After I did not know it was not a hard drive problem (even had a 3rd party test it under an extended warranty), the conclusion was that the BONE was damaged and I had to do a full restore.

I did the recovery using the recovery disks that I created when I first bought the PC.  Then I went through Windows Update to install the various necessary updates.  After the first round of about 100, there were a few updates which "failed", and it was to keep SP1 update automatically.  Since SP1 is required to load SP2, I have put mannualy updated for SP1 by downloading the full update from the Microsoft support site.  I left and then Windows Update go through its various updates.  But, because there were still a few updates failed showing, SP2 is not automatically updated, so I've manually updated to SP2.  And once again that Windows Update to install updates that are required as a result of SP2.

And well, I just checked, and the webcam worked!  But I had a few problems with other things, and I ran a diagnostic said I had a few carrupted files (sorry, no longer have the detail that I experienced so many things...).

So, I thought what the heck, I'll recharge the system again.  But this time, after I did the initial installation using my recovery discs, I went straight to the full load of SP1, then to the full load of SP2, then let Windows Update install future updates.

And, Lo and behold, the webcam again did not work!  And I got another blue screen.  But this time with the blue screen, Windows automatically determined to restart that a pilot was missing and it took me the Intel site for it to install.  I have not had another blue screen again... yet.

So, at this point, my question is...  Is the second way, I rebooted the system valid?  And is there any ideas as to why this would have an impact on the functioning of my webcam?  I checked, and the webcam driver was the same in both scenarios.

Right now, I'm just trying to determine if I need to go through another rebuilding...  I get a lot of practice...

    Thanks in advance!

There's nothing wrong with the way in which you reinstalled Vista.

After installation > go to the HP Web site > drivers and downloads Section > key in your model number > look for the latest Vista drivers > download/install them.

It seems to be a driver problem you are having with the material of HP.

It comes with Vista, upgrade install and activate Forum.

  • query rewite enable cube + jump level hierarchy problem

    Hello

can someone help me on the following scenario, please?

(I use OWB 11.2 client on WIN XP)

I just created a dimension, i.e. dim_1 with three levels (l1, l2 and l3) with the ' ROLAP: with Cube MV ' storage option. the business identifier is of type number named 'key '. The standard hierarchy of the dimension is
by default except that I have defined L1 level as him "jump at the level" of the L3 level. As I'd hoped associates the modified dimension table so that the key added to level L3 as his parents another level L1.

Then I designed a map of ETL to load the following values:
    Hierarchy (Default): L1-L2-L3 > >
    Keychain attr. : 1-> 2-> 3
    and
    hierarchy (using hierarchical): L1-L3 >
    Keychain attr. : 1 > 4

This means that the '1' L1 button is parent of key '3' or '4' of L3.
Then I created a single dimension cube with the "ROLAP: with the Cube of MV" storage option. The only measure of the cube is named "N" of type number. The level of the dimension of the cube is L3 as a default value. Then I designed a mapping of ETL to load following values in this measure:
    « N » - « L3 ». "" Key.
    __________________
    1 - 3
    2 - 4

When I update the related materialized view of the cube it does return no rows.

    * 1. why what is happening? *

But when firstly, I refresh the MV associated with the dimension, and then refresh the cube MV, it returns the following incorrect result:
    Level.Key - N - County
    ___________________________
    L2.2 - 2-1
    L1.1 - 2-1

    The correct result should be:

    Level.Key - N - County
    ___________________________
    L2.2 - 1-1
    L1.1 - 3-2

    * 2. why what is happening? *

When I got Disabling query rewrite of the cube, then there is no need to be refreshed dimension MV first. Refreshing Cube MV returns the following results about:

    Level.Key - N - County
    ___________________________
    L2.2 - 1-1
    L1.1 - 3-2
    L2. -2-1

    * 3.Is it bound to the ENABLE QUERY REWRITE of cube MV property? *

    Thanks in advance,

    SMSK.

    Command is not supported in cube MVs, see the documentation for OLAP;
    http://docs.Oracle.com/CD/E11882_01/OLAP.112/e17123/cubes.htm#CHDHBGGB

A cube must conform to these requirements, before it can be referred to as a cube materialized view:
    * All the dimensions of the cube have at least a level and a level-based hierarchy. Ragged and non-hierarchical hierarchies are not supported. The dimensions should be mapped.
    * All dimensions in the cube using the same aggregation operator, which is SUM, MIN, or MAX.
    * The cube has one or more dimensions and one or more measures.
    * The cube is fully defined and mapped. For example, if the cube has five steps, then all five are mapped to the source tables.
    * The data for the cube type is NUMBER, VARCHAR2, NVARCHAR2, or DATE.
    * Source detail tables support dimension and count constraints. If they have not been defined, then use the Advisor to relational schema to generate a script that defines on detail charts.
    * The cube is compressed.
    * The cube can be accompanied by calculated measures, but he can not support analytics more advanced in the cube script.

  • SRM failover scenarios

We seek to implement the SRM. However, we have two scenarios for failover

    Senario 1

Complete failover of datacenter in the DR site (here am sure MRS. works perfectly)

    Senario2

Partial failover. Here, we would like to switch, a couple of VM for what ever reason at your DR site and still live to the other virtual machines on the production site. So, we'll have images running on the two site. SRM for this? can he not come back images on the production site without disturbing images running? (Sounds messy)

Depending on your storage provider, how you have your replication architecture (I think you said individual LUN?) then MRS. lets you create 'Plans' as much as you want.  So, in theory, you could have a plan that switches to a particular set of VM, so long as your storage space you would of not only the most without impacting the other 90 you don't want.  Who is?  If really boil you down, all done SRM is what allows you to automate some steps to fail on VM - if you can do these 10 manually without impact on production, then MRS will do it as well.  DESIGN is the key.  We are discovering that we will completely remake how we have our unit number logic and replication configured to give us the most flexibility when it comes to SRM.

  • Can we change the name of existing scenarios in a sketch

    Hi all

I have a requirement like changing the name of the scenario existing to another name...

Ex: The name of the scenario existing Scenario-> 'Budget '.
After changing the name of the scenario scenario-> Fcst_Buget

    Can we do this?

If Yes, what are the things I need to take care because we have data for this scenario... Please let me know...

Please update on this... its urgent

Absolutely, you can change the names of members.

Are you concerned about the impact on data loads, formulas, Calc, etc.?

An easy way to have your cake and eat it too is to assign an alias to the Member, as well as the Budget now becomes Budget with an alias of Fcst_Budget. What are the artifacts refer to the old name continue to do so and a perspective report you reference the alias.

Or you can reverse the trend so that the name of the Member now becomes Fcst_Budget and the alias is the Budget.

Your choice, but I think the first, that's what you want.

    Kind regards

  • Percentages vs scenarios

I have something that does not work quite as I expect and hope that someone could point me in the right direction...

I have the following calculations (e.g.):

¦¦ ¦¦ ¦¦ Tender forecast tender vs forecasts
    Total value 100 120 20 ¦¦ ¦¦ ¦¦
    Total cost ¦¦ ¦¦ ¦¦ 90 105 15
    10 15 5 ¦¦ ¦¦ ¦¦ margin
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    ¦¦ ¦¦ 10% % 12.5% 25% ¦¦

'Submission vs forecasts' = forecast - tender, as seen in the three first lines. % Margin is margin / total value.

The 25% which is the % margin calculated numbers (5 / 20) above him, but I want the 25% to view forecasts 'margin %' - tender '% margin' and 2.5%.

I thought I should be able to do this by adding the scenario after counting in the parameters of the evaluation order, but which seems to have no impact.

    Hello
Maybe if you try enabling 2 pass calc onnTender vs forecasts?

    See you soon,.

  • A rendering based on a hierarchy level group

    Hello
I am faced with a request that I would like a report based on the selection of a group hierarchy level.

Here's the situation: I have a table with a 'normal' hierarchy, said the Scott, with his EMPNO and MGR columns EMP table. What I would like to have is a report that gives me the sum of the column group SAL by all members at a given level. So, if I choose the LEVEL = 1, Id like to see the total number if I choose LEVEL = 2, I would like to see the sum of the salary of all employees managed by the respective Manager etc..

I know that there are opportunities to denormalize the table first and try to solve it from there, but I want to know is if everyone is aware of a more generic way to achieve this? I could accept is a limitation hardcoded the number of nested levels, as seems to be very difficult to achieve in SQL.

In the real world scenario, I use only balanced trees, so from this point of view, the reports will be compatible.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks, Jürgen

  • Break into the environmental impact study

I'm having a problem with the metaoutline environmental impact study. Here is my scenario,
We have a metaoutline for extraction of ASO cube with multiple hierarchies enabled. So by default the size becomes 'Label' only and the value of dimension data is inherited from the first member in the dimension. Retrieving cube is made the dimension value appears as the value of her first child, but when a drill holes in the report are launched at the dimension level the result is the sum of all members in the dimension. I have the dimension marked as label in metaoutline and changed the consolidation for only the first update rollup as '+' so that others such as ' ~', but always for a reason any SQL extraction plans. Am I missing out on this design that I'm not aware of, or is this a known problem in i ' EIA?

I could be misunderstanding you, but I don't think that custom SQL makes your static report - you can always use the "$$xxx.00$ $" tokens to reference the other dimensions.
