Update BIOS HP F.64Ap1 (8th bios update for my HP Envy laptop)

What's new in this latest update of the bios? How is it important to install?

Anyone?

Thank you.

Version F.64 Rev A - intermittent problem of bugs on system with two hard disks where re-partitioning the drive mSATA fires a blue screen event.

Version F.63 - provides security improved for UEFI EDK2. NOTE: HP recommend transitioning to this BIOS update without delay.

    @Paul80, welcome to the forum.

Here's memory and SSD who are recommended by Crucial memory.  They make great products for OEM computers.  You have to open the case and check of installed memory brand.  Then contact the Crucial Tech Support to see if their memory will be compatible.  The main problem with the addition of memory, it's buy the memory that is compatible with existing modules.

The best way to install the SSD, it's letting the existing connected HARD disk as it came from the factory.  Connect the SSD drive to another SATA port on the motherboard.  Install the cloning software that you will use on the HARD drive.  Open and select the SSD as target disk.  Once the SSD is cloned, disconnect the HARD drive and start.  The start of shoul for the SSD system.

As for a video, here is a card that has very good reviews.  Read the reviews to see what users have to say about it.  It should work well with your power supply unit (PSU).

  • HP Pavilion 15 not: SSD update for HP Pavilion 15 laptop

    Hello!

I use PC HP Pavilion 15 Notebok (F6C42PA #ACJ). It came with Win 8.1 pre-installed on a 1 TB HARD drive. I updated the OS to win 10 and now upgrade my HDD to SSD. I was wondering if TS256GSSD370S Transcend and Samsung Evo 850 is compatible with my laptop. Also how to enable AHCI mode? I don't see such an option in the BIOS.

    Thank you.

15 - n203tx is the model. Here is the Service Manual:

    Manual

The compartment access hard drive appears on p. 59. As you can see, it's a bit more involved.

Don't fall into the trap of overthink. The laptop is in ahci mode and you can not set otherwise. With Windows 10 an SSD will be automatically recognized as such and optimized. Your question only real tech is to get the software on the new SSD. After the back if you need some help with that.

The Samsung Evo 850 is my choice, but the Transcend would work too.

  • HP Pavilion 15 laptop: HARD drive SSD update for HP Pavilion 15 laptop

    Hey there!

I own a HP pavilion 15 notebook PC, [model number: F6C42PA #ACJ]. Currently, it is equipped with a 1 TB SATA HARD drive. I was going to upgrade to SSD. Kindly guide me through the steps and the compatible products. Also is there a simple way to just walk into an authorized service center of thm Center and ask to do the upgrade?

    Thank you

Any form factor of 2.5 in SATA SSD will work and I recommend a Samsung Evo 850.

    http://www.Newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16820147372&cm_re=Samsung_850_Evo-_-20-147-372-_-product

There is a link for all sizes available on the page. I recommend that at least a 256 and 500 are quite affordable nowadays.

Where do you live? Country only, please. I heard that HP Service centers will perform memory and SSD upgrades on these 'closed' systems but I don't know where all of them or what they would charge. You should be able to find a competent local computer shop to do. It does not put security at risk, but the warranty is not revoked if the work is done properly, without damage to the laptop.

    Hello

I have a 14-k124TX currently Envy and you want to upgrade the disk SSD 128 GB to 500 GB.

The vehicle currently has a samsung mzmtd 128 and I want to use a Samsung 850 EVO series. I opened my laptop and I'm confident on the evolution of Physics in the. I meausred the exsisting SSD and it corresponds exactly with the specifications of the new, so I'm also confident it will fit.

    I'm after some advice on

    (A) the computer will be able to use the SSD physcally (I'm sure it would but I better check)

    (B) what is the best way to transfer the operating system and all my personal files and programs, I would also be able to buy an MSATA USB3 case if necessary.

Thank you in advance, all the tips

The transfer will be quick and painless. Let the original SSD in place during execution of the migration and Exchange later in the new Samsung EVO 850.

  • Video update for DV7-4087 cl laptop PC?

    Hi Fabio,.

See Page 98 of your Service & Maintenance Guide for a list of compatible processors.

Sorry to say, but it is not really practical to change your video card - your existing Intel physically soldered to the motherboard chip and therefore, is not an evolutionary element.

  • Qosmio G30 - BIOS need to be updated for Windows 7

    Hey,.

I am trying to install win7 (not beta) on Qosmio G30 (PQG32E with HD-DVD).
I begin the installation, and copying the files on the hard drive. Then the computer restarts for installation.
But every time you start ends in a blue screen with the error: stop 0x0000007E. The text of the blue screen is not little say on an update of the BIOS. But there is no latest BIOS available on the Toshiba site. BIOS 3.90 is installed. There is no other is available.

XP and Vista runs without problem.

    BIOS with a standard configuration.

    Concerning
    File

    Hello

I don't see any question in your message, but you probably want to know if Toshiba will offer BIOS updates. I am sure that nobody here can give you a definitive answer but, in my opinion, Qosmio G30 will be not supported with Win7.

The first series of Qosmio G30 is delivered with WXP MCE and later with Vista. Thus, this model of laptop is quite old. I watched how Toshiba treated with old laptops when Vista was on the market again and not over a year of two laptops have been supported. So I think with Win7 will be the same story. All laptops, not more than one year one or one and a half not will be not supported for Win7.
I think in the future that Toshiba does not update the BIOS designed for Win7.

Of course, I wish wrong me about this, but the future will show whether or not it is just my opinion.

    In any case, good luck.

  • Pavilion Media Center M8400f Bios Update for Windows 7

HP Pavilion Media Center m8400f. The Vista operating system has been replaced by Windows 7 (64 bit) a number of years.

I've updated one of my hard drives with a SanDisk SSD (it is now my main drive with the operating system and all my files on board).

The bios on the PC has never been updated.

The SanDisk SSD dashboard software will not recognize the SanDisk SSD as the system has designated the SSD as a SCSI device. I need to access the bios for this change to AHCI. The current bios does not support this.

The PC has a card mother MCP61PM-HM. There is no update for Windows 7 BIOS for that motherboard I know (updates Vista only).

SanDisk gave me a link to http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=pv-82094-1&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&... that shows a card mother M2P61PM-HM for m8400f desktop PC. This Bios download supports Windows 7 (64 bit).

Can update the Bios to download safely a card mother M2P61PM-HM for card mother MCP61PM-HM I currently have?

    Hello

The HP BIOS update link provided SanDisk is an update of the BIOS of your PC. It is listed under Win Vista 64 bit driver downloads here.

If you look at the site to download the drivers for your PC you'll only see driver support for Win Vista but on 2010-04-08, Version 5.29, 1.47 M BIOS updatedshows support for Win 7.

But the problem is this: the BIOS updates must be performed using the PC operating system comes with; in your case, Win Vista. Extreme care must be exercised when updating the BIOS under normal circumstances. I would not classify your situation as usual.

I saw others download an update of the BIOS for their PC and try to install an operating system upgraded with disastrous effects. The PC was bricked.

Be prepared for the worst case if you try to install the update to the BIOS.

  • Envy laptop: update bios still running

I got a notice from HP that there are updates for my computer. I've updated all the recommended updates, including updated Bios. After 18 hours its always updated. How long it takes and what I'm doing now is so long?

    Hello

The update should only take a few minutes, so if it worked for 18 hours, I'd say it's blocked - stop it should be Ok.

When you stopped, close HPSA and download the Bios Update from the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp75001-75500/sp75152.exe

Once the download is complete, close other open windows and programs, then open your download folder and double-click the installer to start the process.  The real flash will occur when you restart the machine - do not interrupt it somehow, even if nothing seems to be happening for a while - when it is finished, the machine will load in Windows as usual.

  • HP ENVY 700-030qe: BIOS updates for my HP desktop computer

I have a desktop HP ENVY 700-030qe with Windows 8. While looking through the updates of software available for my system, I have seen two listed in the BIOS:

    (1) HP Compaq consumer Desktop PC BIOS for ROM family SSID 2AF3 dated October 2014.

    (2) HP Desktop BIOS update system for PC HP ENVY 700/800/810 with 2AF3 family ROM dated May 2014.

    1. How will I know what family of ROM BIOS I have? I have pictures of all the screens of BIOS that I could get and nothing mentioned family BIOS ROM. I still have the BIOS original version KAI 80.07.

    2. the two updates apply to my computer? The wording is confusing. It seems that only the second apply to my system unless one applies to a more general category of the office. If both apply, as the first is the most recent, which would be the one to use?

    3. There is an issued for the BIOS in June security update that I ran across here. Which does not appear in the update list. Why would that not replace the other? Can I assume that the October update would include this security update?

    Thank you

    JohnD

    Hello @jpd_az,

I read your post about how you're looking to update your system BIOS and what version of the software to install. I'd be happy to help you in this case!

The version of the BIOS, you want to download and install is 80.23 A, which can be downloaded by clicking on the link below:

  • Windows 8 - BIOS update for older computers?

I use a Dell Dimension 4600 to test consumer Preview of Windows 8 (Yes, I know, it's a dinosaur).  Consumer overview works very well. However, the Preview version will not install. I suspect that it is because the BIOS is too old. (The currently installed version is S12).  Is there all the steps to upgrade the BIOS and expose the NX / XD bit in the BIOS security settings?

Or, is there a work around to allow installation of Windows 8 Preview version on this level of the machine?

    Thank you

There is no updated BIOS more for the 4600.  Updates usually does not continue beyond the end of sales for a given model, once most of the stability issues have surfaced and resolved.

What kind of error get you when trying to install it?
