  I see a lot of threads with similar concerns, but cannot find a solution.  I uninstalled - registry cleaned, cache, rebooted and reinstalled without a hitch.  But impossible to install a single update.  The download of the update is very well - Install starts and goes through validation; first series of copy files; and on the second copy files to half, it begins to roll backward and eventually get an error 1328.

  I meet the apparently common "error 1328: application patch file C:\Config.msi\PT792.tmp... error" while trying to install Adobe Reader 11.

  During a previous installation my computer restarted automatically for another reason, where the Adobe installation was interrupted. Since then, this error keeps coming back. Reader XI does not appear on the list of program so I can't uninstall it. I have done a registry cleaning (CCleaner), manually deleted the files in C:\ProgramData\, etc. It still does not work! Help!

  I received notification of a firmware update for my TimeCapsule AirPort, then click it to start the update. He seems to have run the update and was himself reboot after the bar got to end state.   I have a laptop of old P750 for 2 months, after they need to do a restore to a disk upward, I now get the above error.
  I then decided to do a cover of toshiba with a clean install and still get the same result of windows update is not not able to connect to the server.

  I tried everything I can find this error, including the verification of the proxy settings for WU, reset the proxy via CMD prompt settings.

  I noticed something interesting while control validation using microsoft MGA diagnostic tool, where windows has been listed as a hat, but note some reports as:

  My understanding is the way to 0 x 80070002 he couldn't connect identical to WU or that files are missing.
