Update for Windows XP (KB959426) security has failed - error Code: 0xD0000135

original title: update for Windows XP (KB959426) security failure?

Error code: 0xD0000135

Uninstalling the service pack 3 and re-installed.

Updated everything, but this update 1 always fails.

It's an old update, so I should ignore it, or is it important?

Thank you.

    The following has worked for me. Went to programs and features in Control Panel. Chosen Microsoft .NET Framework 4 Client Profile and click Uninstall/change. Through the option "repair". The update could then be applied successfully.

    PROBLEM SOLVED

    Friday, January 14, 2011

    I have a solution. He was in two parts: firstly, PA bear in its list of the 6 stages has allowed for me to make the Windows XP security update that was my initial problem. However, then I was unable to update Microsoft Security Essentials was so without virus protection. Finally, I called the phone number of support for the product and was helped by a great person.

    The problem was that my system clock changed the date a week in the future. He also suggested that there are probably a variety of different dates used by other applications. In Safe Mode, it updated my system time and date, and all problems are gone.

    For those who have similar problems, the clue in MSE was a difference in dates between when the definitions have been downloaded, and when they were loaded. I suspect that the dates were important for download that prompted my initial request for help on this forum, and I know another website with which I had trouble's timestamp.

    Thanks to all who helped and good luck to those who have a similar problem!

    Before Kaspersky, I had on Windows Live safety - do not remember the name right but had for several years until it was discontinued by Microsoft. I didn't run the Norton removal tool before installing Kaspersky.

    Preliminary stage: Please uninstall Spybot & Ad - Aware, at least for now. Two of them include "real-time system protections" that could play a role here.

    Tip: If you don't fully understand what that Tea Timer (Spybot) & (Ad-Aware) Ad-Watch do and how they do it, one of them only enable if you decide to reinstall the applications when we're done here. [IMHO, you need not other antispyware applications if MSE is installed & working properly.]

    ACTIONS:

    1. download the Norton Removal Tool, save it to your desktop: ftp://ftp.symantec.com/public/english_us_canada/removal_tools/Norton_Removal_Tool.exe

    1B. download Windows Live OneCare cleanup utility, save it to your desktop: http://download.microsoft.com/download/4/c/b/4cb845e7-1076-437b-852a-7842a8ab13c8/OneCareCleanUp.exe

    2. close all open applications (that is, anything with an icon on the taskbar).

    3. double-click on the file that you saved in # 1 a above, to run the utility. DO TAP not your keyboard until the race ends, then restart.

    3. double-click the file that you saved in # 1 b above to run the utility. DO TAP not your keyboard until the race ends, then reboot again.

    4. open Internet Explorer (only) to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923737 & run the difficulty.

    5. open Internet Explorer (only) to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971058 & run that set it by DEFAULT and modes and AGGRESSIVE. [1]

    6. restart a last time & test. Make absolutely certain that you can manually update MSE successfully!

    Comment: If MBAM detected & removed '5 Trojan infection', there is a good chance that the computer is already infected when you installed MSE a month ago!

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    [1] full Disclosure: the difficulty operating in AGGRESSIVE mode will remove your update history but not list the updates installed in Add/Remove programs.
    Hi RogerGreene,
    2. You are able to install some other updates on the computer?
    3. You have security software installed on the computer?
    Update for Windows Vista (KB2676562) security failed 34 times since 05/16/12.
    How to solve this problem?
    Hello
    Follow these methods.
    Method 1: Follow the steps in the article.
    The problems with the installation of Vista updates
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/troubleshoot-problems-with-installing-updates
    Method 2: You can temporarily disable your antivirus and then try to install the update.
    Disable the antivirus software
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/disable-antivirus-software
    Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.
    Method 3: Follow these steps.
    Step 1: If the methods above do not help, we can put the computer in a clean boot state, and then install the update manually.
    To help solve the problems, you can start Windows Vista by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.
    How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135
    Step 2:
    Now, to install the update manually.
    If you use a 32-bit computer, download and install this update.
    Hello
    You are able to install other updates successfully?
    See the methods mentioned below and check if that helps.
    Method 1: Temporarily disable the security software.
    Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you do not disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished.
